Salute To The General
Chapter 1832

Chapter 1832

Meanwhile, at the Lucas residence, he had just found out about the same meeting and assassination attempt.

However, he wasn't bothered by the assassin. Instead, he was more concerned about Nathan and the other military leaders meeting Garrett in secret as it made him feel uncomfortable.

At that moment, his son, Corey, gave him a surprised look. "Dad, Nathan's stand seems to be ambiguous. I am confused as to who he is supporting. Right after he publicly expressed his support for you, how can he go behind your back and meet with Mr. Woods?"

As Zion's expression darkened, he quipped, "Nathan has never expressed his support for me.

Corey was stunned. "When he was having dinner with us, didn't he just say..."

Zion interrupted, "He only said that he wouldn't support Clifford. But we were the ones who assumed that he was supporting me. From the way things are, he is neither supporting Clifford nor me. It seems he favors Garrett instead."

Briefly stunned, Corey was outraged by what he heard.

He scowled, "F*ck! How dare Nathan play us for a fool!"

Zion sneered, "Didn't you do the same to him? I told you early on not to play games with him."

"In fact, he might have found out that you were behind the attempts to stir up a feud between Ceaser and him, causing him to hold a grudge against us."

Corey's expression changed as he

retorted, “I don't think that's the cause. Nathan must have had an agreement with Garrett beforehand. Or else, it doesn't make sense for him to sever ties with us over such a trivial matter. Furthermore, it would be impossible for him to grow so close to Garrett in such a short time. I'm sure the plot was hatched very early on."

Zion's expression changed drastically, "And yet I thought that he would comply with President Windsor's wishes to support us, given that he was the President's protege. Little did I expect him to disrespect President Windsor by throwing his support behind Garrett."

"Not only have I lost a powerful supporter, but I am also faced with a new rival. In the end, Clifford is the one that benefits the most. Sigh, has he been chosen by fate to become the new President?"

Corey squinted his eyes and

sneered, "We're not going to sit and do nothing while Clifford benefits from Nathan's tricks. Dad, since Nathan has drawn the line with us he can't blame us for what we are going to do. We have to think of a

wan

to teach him a lesson. Ideally, we should sow further discord between him and Clifford. Their dispute will take a devastating toll on them to our advantage."

Zion furrowed his eyebrows. "What sort of tricks do you have up your sleeve again?”

Corey gleefully suggested, "Dad, I have a plan that will deepen the feud between them. Let me tell you about it..."

Zion raised his hand to interrupt. "Don't even start. I will have none of it. Nathan is President Windsor's protege. Even if he doesn't support us, we shouldn't be doing him any harm. Or else, it will be difficult for me to explain myself when I

see the President."

"On top of that, let me warn you again. Stop with your little schemes. They can only gain you a short-term advantage at most. If you really are ambitious, you not only need to climb high but also stand strong. It's important to build a solid foundation step by step. Do you understand?"

Corey acknowledged his father's words in a cursory manner as he remained unconvinced.

Dad is being too honest for his own good. If he's not going to plot, then there's no point in telling him. I'll just have to go ahead and do it. The Lucas

family stands to benefit if the feud between Nathan and the Davier family is ignited and they proceed to fight amongst themselves.
