Salute To The General
Chapter 1833

Chapter 1833

At that moment, when Ceaser saw his father appear with an angry expression, he became fearful.

He knew that his father must have found out about him hiring an assassin to kill Nathan.

He braced himself. "Dad, why are you here?"

Clifford snorted, "I'm here to stop you. At the rate you're going, both of you might be dead the next time I see you."

Ceaser responded with an awkward expression.

However, Gillian was upset and retorted, "Clifford, our son has been terribly humiliated. And yet, you refuse to seek revenge just because you want to preserve your career prospects? What's wrong with me trying to exact revenge

on my son's behalf when you refuse to do so?"

Gillian continued, "It's fine if you don't want to help, but why must you lose your temper at us for doing so? Please be clear that I'm no longer your wife and my son's surname is Goldstein and not Davier. Therefore, you have no right to tell us what to do!"

When Ceaser saw that his parents were going to quarrel, he tried to calm his mother down, "Mom, don't talk like that to Dad."

Clifford snapped, “Let her speak! In her eyes, I was never worthy to be a husband nor a father. But, do you even know who is it that you're challenging here? He is the General of the North, Eurasia's top general."

Clifford added, “Look at how many people he has killed in the North. The bodies are piled as high as mountains while the blood he spilled is enough to even form rivers. Have you forgotten what happened when he was on leave in the South?"

He continued, “How many powerful men on both sides of the law have died at his hand during that period? Do you even realize that I'm the only reason you're still alive after offending him?"

Gillian's face lost all color while Leaser hung his head in silence.

After his tirade, Clifford's softened his tone.

He advised them softly, "It's a crucial time for the elections now. Listen to me, stop with the scheming, and more importantly, don't offend Nathan anymore. I understand how much Ceaser has suffered and been humiliated. Also, I'm aware of the animosity you have for Nathan. I hate him too, for he has killed

another son and daughter of mine. I

would love to have my

revenge even more than you do."

Clifford added, "But, now is not the time. So just bear with it for a while longer. After one more month when I'm appointed the new President, killing him would be the simplest of tasks. Is one more month too much to ask?"

Gillian was already convinced but refused to acknowledge because of her pride.

Ceaser quickly responded, "Dad, Mom, and I understand. Don't worry, from now on, both of us will stay out of it and will definitely not offend Nathan. You should focus all your attention on winning the election and know that the Goldstein family is fully behind you."

Clifford responded with a rare smile.

Looking toward Gillian, he teased, "What about you? Don't you have anything to say?"

Looking awkward, Gillian gritted her teeth and quipped, "We will go along with whatever you say.

Clifford couldn't help but burst out in laughter.

When he saw how obedient his son was and the submissiveness of his wife, he couldn't help but be filled with a sense of warmth. He couldn't even remember when the last time was he felt such a familial feeling.

He couldn't help but suggest, "The Cab has an important meeting in the afternoon and will likely end late at night. However, I am free tomorrow afternoon. Why don't both of you come over tomorrow? It's been a long time since I've cooked. buy some ingredients to do so and the three of us can have dinner together, just like a family."
