Nathan had forced himself to stay awake for far too long, and he was running on fumes throughsheer will and muscle memory.

A pale-skinned fighter raised his hammer and rammed it against Nathan's chest, making himstagger backwards.

However, before he could do anything else, Nathan had already sliced his arm in half and beheadedhim with his sword.

The fighter fell to the ground, and the battle ended right there and then.

The Dragonslayer Special Troops have been completely wiped out by Nathan and his men, thoughit was not without sacrifice.

Colin and the Elite Eight were battered and bleeding all over, but they still rushed over to Nathan'sside the moment the last fighter fell. “We won, Chief! We killed all of them!”

As they celebrated their victory, an armored SUV screeched to a halt beside them.

The SUV had been carrying soldiers from a nearby military camp, and they rushed over the momentthey heard of the raging battle between Nathan and Matteo's troops.

As for Nathan, he was already exhausted from the fight. His entire body relaxed as he crumpledonto the ground amidst the cheers that quickly turned into horrified shrieks.

“Chief! Chief! Can you hear us?” his men shouted, only to receive no response.

The person leading the backup team was Myron, and his eyes widened at the bodies and bodyparts strewn across the battlefield as he alighted from the SUV.

He walked over to Matteo's body and scoffed. “Well well well, look who we have here! Matteo, thebest assassin of all of Ariarica! Serves him right for attempting to take our Chief's life with all thosegoons of his!”

After that, he brisk walked to Colin's side and asked, “How's the Chief Military Governor?”

Colin grabbed his hand frantically like a drowning man. “The Chief Military Governor has beenpoisoned, and he needs immediate medical attention.”

“Quick!” Myron shouted, waving his hands at his subordinates. “Take the Chief to the hospital

I ” now!

After what felt like ages, Nathan finally woke up from his deep slumber.

He heard someone shout, “He's awake! The Chief Military Governor has woken up!” as he struggledto open his eyes fully.

When he finally did, he saw the silhouettes of several people hovering over him.

It took a while for his vision to recover, and he recognized those silhouettes immediately. Hewatched with a smile as Colin, the Elite Eight, a doctor and a few nurses cheered out loud.

“Colin?” he rasped. “Where am I? How long have

I been out? How's the battle with Xyperia?”

Colin held on to Nathan’s hand tightly and choked back a sob. “This is the North Army Hospital,Chief. You've been out for a whole fortnight. The battle with Xyperia is long over, and Fang and

Destroyer have wiped out all enemy forces in the mountain ranges. In fact, they've alreadyconceded defeat, and our government has signed a treaty with the Xyperian government to settlethe border disputes and protect the integrity of our territories. All these happened in a span of twoweeks, Chief!”

Nathan fell silent in shock as he processed what Colin had just said. We won the war... theyconceded defeat... the border disputes have been settled?

A small smile appeared on his lips. “That's great to hear...what about our own troops? How's thecasualty rate?”
