Salute To The General
Chapter 2009

Chapter 2009

The Khaiden family was influential in their territory, the West. No matter where he went, he had people gathered around him, anxious to gain his favor.

He did not expect to be insulted here in Brimmopolis.

His appetite for shopping effectively ruined, he gestured at his two bodyguards to leave.

Before he could turn around, a whiff of perfume met his nose.

Raida looked up sniffed at the air hopefully. Out of the corner of his eye, a figure approached him.

Sophia pretended not to have seen Raida and walked into him. "Ouch!" she squealed,

pretending to fall.

Raida shot out an arm and caught her around the waist. The feeling of caressing a feminine figure rendered him awestruck.

"Ms. Davier!"

Ms. Davier, are you all right?"

Her bodyguards rushed forwards and enquired anxiously.

Raida was suddenly aware that the figure in his arms is a beautiful woman.

She wore sophisticated makeup and carried herself like an heiress of unimaginable wealth. Furthermore, her luxurious elegance concealed a subtle flirtatious air.

Raida's eyes gleamed with desire.

He wanted to hold her in his arms for a little longer, but that may appear ungentlemanly and desperate.

Letting go of Sophia, he enquired politely "Are you all right, miss?"

"Pardon me, sir." Sophia pretended to blush. "I wasn't aware of my surroundings earlier and knocked into you." She giggled.

"It's nothing," Raida said hurriedly. "All that matters is that you did not fall and hurt yourself. It'll be such a shame if a beauty like you hurt herself and had to bear the scars."

Sophia's eyes shined.

The Chief Military Governor wasn't as old-fashioned as expected. He is quite the sweet talkerlExcellent!

Sir, you re such a gentleman." Sophia fluttered her eyelashes.

Raida wasn t aware of it yet but he was already waist-deep in her seduction.

I am a man of little talent," he chuckled. "I only know how to appreciate a beautiful woman."

"It's so terribly rude of me to not have asked for your name, sir."

"Raida Khaiden of the West, my lady." Raida grinned.

"Pleased to meet you. I am Sophia Davier of Brimmopolis." She curtsied.

He had heard earlier that her bodyguard addressed her as though she came from an important family.

Good heavenslShe's a DavierlThe

current head of the Daviers was the Cab secretary. The military was commanded by the Chief Military Governor, but the Civil Service was headed by Clifford Davier and

everybody knows that.And ther

beauty before him was his kin, possibly daughter. If he manages to seduce her, surely it would help his political ambitions.

Raida's mind was swimming with possibilities.

He even mapped out a plan for his foreseeable future: marry Sophia, gain her family's support, and ascend the social circles.

At the exact same moment, Sophia was scheming to become the Chief Military Governor's wife.

"Mr. Khaiden," she asked innocently.

"I

that you're from the West.

è at Brimmopolis?" Contest.

Raida's reputation as a playboy was common knowledge. Growing tired of the women in his homestead, he had come to Brimmopolis because he was told that the beautiful women here were abundant.

Of course, this was something he could not say to a prospective wife.

"I'm here on a secret mission," he said mysteriously.

Secret mission?

At the mention of those words, Sophia was further convinced that the man before him is the Chief Military Governor.

A man of his position and duties would have to keep certain things to himself.
