Salute To The General -
Chapter 2010
Chapter 2010
"Alright then," Sophia giggled. "If it's a secret, I won't put you in a position to divulge it."
"Mr. Khaiden, I happen to know a coffee house not far from here with a nice atmosphere. Let me buy you a cup of coffee for bumping into you earlier."
Raida was ecstatic. That fortune-teller is a fluke. He told me I would run into catastrophic disasters by coming to Brimmopolis. Right now it seems like my luck is just beginning.
"I would be delighted to accept, Ms. Davier." He bowed.
Each bearing an ulterior motive, they reciprocated the courtesy and flirtation that each received.
With two of his bodyguards, Raida escorted Sophia out of the suit shop.
He was shocked speechless to learn that the red Ferrari parked outside cost twenty million.
This girl really is something. And her family is filthy rich. I have to play my cards right and seduce her. My future will be set for life by marrying into the Davier family.
He has already confirmed that she really was a Davier.
With increasingly charming and flirtatious conversations, they arrived at Chronosphere, the coffee house that Sophia had in mind.
With their guards, they entered and seated themselves.
Raida was about to ask Sophia about what she would like to drink, but he noticed an odd expression upon her face.
He started and followed her gaze.
Not too far away, another couple was seated. He recognized them as Nathan and Kylie.
Turns out, they had the same idea to come here for a drink after paying at the suit shop.
They too did not expect to run into Raida and Sophia here.
What an unfortunate coincidence!
Raida was initially surprised to see them here, but that surprise turned quickly into cold hatred as Kylie's insult replayed vividly in his ears. Sophia was startled by the intensity of his gaze at the couple. "Mr. Khaiden, do you know them?"
she whispered.
“Not technically,” he answered stiffly. "But we have a grudge."
Her eyes flashed at his response.
Though Nathan was stripped of his title as Commander-In-Chief of the North Army, he still retained his rank of General.
Raida has a grudge against
Nathanllt's a daring thing to do to
hold a grudge against a General. The only person who would do that is the Chief Military Governor.
Any and all doubt were instantly vanquished in Sophia. Raida is irrefutably the Chief Military Governor.
"Mr. Khaiden," Sophia said as she looked deep into his eyes. "It is destiny that brought us
together. It turns out that we have a common enemy.
Enemy? That man is her enemy?
Raida glanced at Nathan again. "And do you have a grudge against him, Ms. Davier?"
"Yes, I do." Sophia nodded. "A huge grudge. Blood feud."
Raida gazed at Sophia in wonder. "Him? He is worthy to hold a grudge against you?"
"He was a high-ranking official a few years back, but now he's lost everything." Sophia laughed.
"My family is capable of stomping him into extinction like an ant."
Like an ant!
Raida's eyes flicked between Nathan and
Sophia. That's a really big grudge. Maybe she's a jealous ex-lover of his. He broke her heart and she is now a woman scorned.
Raida saw an opportunity. "Ms. Davier, let me avenge your honor by teaching this man a lesson."
"Really? You'd do that for me?" Sophia squealed.
It's Nathan's unlucky day. If the Chief
Military Governor himself is going to exert his power and influence to
cripple him, he won't be able to
recover from this.
Raida was already scheming of
future riches. "I am incapable of
turning a blind eye when a scoundrel besmirches a good lady. If this punk dared to offend you, I will take care of him."
He stood up, gestured at his guards, and walked towards Nathan and Kylie menacingly.
