Salute To The General
Chapter 2011

Chapter 2011

Nathan and Kylie were just brooding on running into Raida and Sophia wherever they went.

It was a surprise for them to see Raida approaching their table.

Nathan and Kylie exchanged glances. What does this fool want?

"Are you Nathan Cross?" he asked roughly, glaring at Nathan down the length of his nose.

"Do we know each other?" Nathan asked coldly.

"No we don't," Raida laughed jeeringly. "I don't know which hole you crawled out from, but you're not worth knowing."

Kylie flared up at his words.

What's wrong with him? How dare he speak to Nathan like that? Is he tired of living?

Sophia heard Raida a couple of tables away and glowed with pride. Sophia heard Raida a couple of tables away and glowed with pride. She was blushing furiously, with eyes twinkling like stars. The Chief Military Governor is really exerting his influence. I love how brutally he berates Nathan.Even her Uncle Clifford has some respect for Nathan to refrain from speaking to him in this manner. It wouldn't be wise to go too far and offend Nathan though, given his reputation for killing. For Raida to go above and beyond and insult Nathan to his face, demonstrates his power and rank. Sophia was scheming for her future, just like Raida was doing. She saw herself as the wife of the Chief Military Governor.

Meanwhile, Nathan looked up and regarded Raida coldly.

In spite of himself, Raida shivered slightly at the piercing intensity of Nathan's gaze.

He felt like a small dog who ran into a forest and barked, only to replace out in fear that a pair of eyes belonging to a savage beast staring back at him.

As Sophia said, he is like an ant. He can be stomped on at any given time. How could he be compared to the savage beast in the forest?

Raida dismissed his fear as irrational.

Suppressing that feeling of dread with great difficulty, he forced himself to meet Nathan's eyes.

"I believe in giving second chances to those unfortunately blessed with ignorance," Nathan said quietly. "I don't think you actually know who I am. I'm giving you a chance to correct that mistake. I want you to crawl on the floor."

Crawl?

Raida was rigid with rage.

I've just insulted you and you're making me crawl! Doesn't that make me a bigger fool than what I called you?

Raida smiled derisively at Nathan.

"Son, I think

isn't cle you are the one whone

on what's going on here. I

am defending the honor of Ms. Davier.

You are not in a position to give me any chances, do you understand?"

"I want you to get on your hands and knees, crawl over to Ms. Davier, apologize to her, and mean it." He pointed at where she was seated.

"If she

the mays she forgives you, then

is settled. If she decided

that she does not, however, today will be your last day on earth."

"On your authority?" Nathan said with amusement.

Raida was getting angry that Nathan was not taking him seriously. "I am giving you an opportunity to make amends here," he said. "If you're not going to take it, don't blame me for getting violent with you."

He gestured to his guards. "Boys, hold him down."

"Yes, Mr. Khaiden." They leaped towards Nathan at their employer's command.

They were well-paid bodyguards, capable of dealing with situations where they were outnumbered ten to one, and emerge victoriously.

Raida grinned in anticipation of Nathan's impending humiliation.

However, something unexpected occurred.

Raida's men took one step towards Nathan when it happened.

Nathan reached out with lightning fast reflexes.

Thud! Bang!

They flew backward from the impact of Nathan's fists on their chests. Landing heavily onto a table each, they did not stir. Sophia frowned.

"You..." Raida spluttered, staring at Nathan with shock.

"Now, are you going to kneel?" Nathan walked over to him.
