Salute To The General
Chapter 2065

Chapter 2065

Shae was unsettled. She didn't expect Sage to risk upsetting her family by fawning over Nathan.

She felt humiliated and stormed

out appallingly before the banquet started, taking her subordinates with her.

Sage saw nothing wrong with his actions; so he welcomed Nathan and his wife with the utmost respect.

Nathan stayed for a couple of drinks, then left discreetly for the hospital where Horatio was admitted to. He wanted to personally return the abstract painting by Wyland Huck to Horatio.

In the hospital.

Horatio had woken up grumpily with a tight feeling in his chest.

He clutched tightly at his son's hands while ranting. Horatio blamed himself for thinking that their stolen painting was just an extremely well-imitated piece of Wyland Huck's work.

"It's all my fault... Age has caught up with me and I am losing it..."

The more he spoke, the more his heart raced against the words that sprinted out his mouth. Horatio's chest rose and fell so rapidly that he could barely breathe.

Hansel and Camilla quickly consoled him. They patted at his back, trying to soothe him.

Hansel soothed, "Dad, calm down. You should mind your health.

"Nathan's dealing with the matter. He promised me that he'll retrieve the stolen painting today. I've asked him to give those nasty swindlers the treatment they deserve."

Horatio asked dubiously, "Really?

"Or are you just coaxing me? Can the abstract painting even be found at this point?"

Hansel smiled. “I trust Nathan's way of handling things.

"Don't fret, dad. Let's wait for Nathan's good news.

Camilla brought over a plate of food. She softly persuaded, "Here, dad. You haven't had anything to eat since you were admitted. You shouldn't starve your body."

Horatio waved her away. "I'm too flustered to eat anything right now. I'll eat after that Nathan gets

here."

Hansel and Camilla just looked at each other.

So the saying that old people regressed into a childlike state was absolutely true. They couldn't do anything about Horatio's childlike stubbornness.

Almost immediately, the bodyguard opened their room door and announced, "Mr. Windsor. The general has arrived."

Camilla and Hansel were delighted.

They watched in relief as Nathan and Penny stepped into the room, accompanied by Colin.

Hansel beamed. "Speak of the devil. So you have finally shown up, Nathan."

Camilla anxiously asked, "Did you replace it?"

"I live up to my name," Nathan smiled.

Collin handed over a long

sandalwood box to Camilla. Inside it

was a scrolled-up artwork and she

unfurled it. It was indeed Huck's

abstract painting.

This made Horatio, who was initially suffocating inside, sat up and got off the hospital bed.

He rushed to get a closer look before he burst peals of laughter. “That's it! My god, you really found it!"

Hansel and Camilla brightened at Horatio's improved mood. They were both very happy to see him in a great spirit again.

Camilla's sighed with gratitude.

"How will we ever repay you? You

gifted as this painting and we lost

"}

it... and you must've gone through a lot of trouble just to retrieve it..."

Horatio turned to apologize, "It's my fault, Nathan. I didn't know what& had... I misunderstood your gift as being counterfeit goods and caused you so much hassle Please accept my most sincere apology."

"Also, this painting is far too valuable. You should keep it in your collection."

Nathan spoke in a low chuckle, "Please don't say that, sir.

"Without Mr. Windsor's guidance, I wouldn't be where I am today. His kindness towards me is something I'll never be able to repay.

"Retrieving this painting is the least I can do."

Penny smiled softly. "That's right, sir. You're considered family to us. There's no need to be so polite."

Hansel chimed in, "Since it's a token of Nathan's appreciation, let's accept it, Dad."

With Hansel's approving words, Horatio and Camilla accepted the abstract painting.

Immediately after, Horatio asked what had happened to the swindlers.

Nathan spoke contently, "Some of them were cooperative and turned themselves in. But the more stubborn ones were taken care of on the spot."

"Even Ghost Auction House where they carried out illegal trades was forcibly closed down."

The news pleased Horatio. "That's great. It's about time those swindlers received the rightful punishment."
