Salute To The General
Chapter 2238

After listening to Amos, Nathan sympathized with the man because he went through a similar experience.

Like Amos, he only enlisted in the army due to his misfortune in life and went through ups and downs before finally getting together with Penny.

However, Nathan found it odd that the man seemed to be down after mentioning that Amelia had successfully regained her eyesight two months ago. Why does Amos look sad? His girlfriend regained her sight in the end. Isn't that supposed to be a good thing?

"Did something else happen?" inquired Nathan gently.

After some hesitation, Amos suddenly bowed before Nathan and begged, "Please, General! Can I ask you for a favor?"

"What are you doing? Just get up first, and we'll talk."

As requested, Amos then got back on his feet.

"Okay. So what is it that you need my help with?" continued Nathan.

"I'm going to be honest with you, General. When Amelia was still blind, we were very close. I would spend most of my time taking care of her, and she was gentle to me. But after she had recovered, Amelia gradually turned back to her vain self. Sometimes, I feel like she purposely keeps her distance because she despises me. We've talked about getting married, but now, I worry that she'll change her mind. That's why I need you to play matchmaker between us. I'm sure she'll be thrilled to have a commanding officer like you to be our matchmaker. That should be enough to convince her to marry me." Nathan chuckled in response. "That's it? Of course! I'd be more than happy to be your matchmaker. On top of that, after you two get married, I'll arrange a decent job for you. I know men and women are supposed to be equal now, but I still think it's best if you can provide for your future wife."

"Thank you, General! I owe you big time!" exclaimed Amos excitedly.

Suddenly, the two could hear somebody knocking on the door.

That's weird. We don't get a lot of visitors here. Maybe Amelia has forgotten to bring her keys?" uttered Amos with a brow raised.

As expected, Amos found a good-looking woman in a white dress standing just behind the door, and it was none other than his girlfriend, Amelia.

Amos was just about to tell Amelia the good news when he noticed a man with gold-rimmed glasses in a designer suit standing next to his girlfriend.

Moreover, the man was grabbing Amelia intimately by the waist as several bodyguards stood by them.

"Who the heck is this, Amelia?" questioned Amos furiously.

For some reason, the woman was afraid to look his boyfriend in the eye.

On the other hand, the man with the gold-rimmed glasses was more than eager to introduce himself. "You must be Amos. I'm Deckard Camden, the general manager of Hex Incorporated." "I wasn't asking my girlfriend, not you!"

"Your girlfriend? You haven't even slept with her before, so how is she your girlfriend? On the contrary, I've seen every part of her body in bed," sneered Deckard as he tightened his arm around Amelia. "Stop it, Mr. Camden! You don't have to share the details," reminded Amelia while she held on to the man's arm shyly.

At that moment, Amos felt like he was ready to

explode.

"The only reason I'm here today is to inform you that Amelia belongs to me now, so you should stay away from her. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind breaking your other leg," threatened Deckard. "I'll kill you, you b*stard!" roared Amos before charging at the man.

However, Deckard's bodyguards were prepared to handle a situation like that.

Immediately, they got in Amos' way to shield their employer. "I wouldn't do that if I were you. If you dare lay a finger on Mr. Camden, we'll have no choice but to take you down."

When Nathan and the others heard that, they, too stepped out of the house.

"It seems like you have a pest problem, Amos," stated Nathan coldly.
