Salute To The General
Chapter 2392

Meanwhile, Nathan was going through some documents at the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor while Colin and Sage stood aside, standing by their actions. "Didn't the President appoint Cayden as Assistant Chief Military Governor? So when is Cayden coming over?" inquired Nathan as he continued with his work.

Sage then quickly answered, "I just received news that Cayden was allowed to spend some time with his family at home since he just got back from overseas. The President himself has agreed to it, so Cayden will be reporting for duty half a month later, which should be the first of October."

"Okay." Nodding, Nathan collected the documents in front of him and passed them to Sage before turning to Colin. "So how did the Norrises respond? Is Bryson going to apologize to Ms. Windsor as I asked?"

"The man still refused to do so. On top of that, Raphael, the head of the Norris family, called your bluff and challenged you to show yourself before him," replied Colin.

"And here I thought the elderly ones in the Norris family would be more reasonable. Apparently, they're used to spoiling the young ones."

Colin was just about to ask if Nathan wanted to schedule a trip to Mount Rhea in the West when the man's phone suddenly rang.

As soon as Nathan picked up the phone, he could hear Hansel's sad wavery voice. "It's me, Nathan."

"How can I help you, Mr. Windsor?" Nathan was surprised to hear from the elderly man.

"My dear niece, Cecilia, jumped from the hospital's roof when no one was looking and ended her life."

"What?" exclaimed Nathan in anguish.

"Ever since Bryson assaulted her and caused the miscarriage, Cecilia's attempted to take her own life several times. I think Bryson called her yesterday night. The man thought she was trying to get revenge on him, so he said some nasty things to her. That's probably why she decided to jump off the building as soon as she got the chance."

Immediately, Nathan was filled with anger and guilt. "This is all my fault, Mr. Windsor. I should've taken better care of it." "No, you're not the one responsible for her death. That girl always went all-in in everything she did. And her love life was no exception. Bryson was the first man she fell in love with, but nobody expected it would cost her her life."

Still furious and guilt-ridden, Nathan remained silent.

"I'm just calling to let you know how angry I am. An apology isn't going to do it anymore," continued Hansel.

"I understand, Mr. Windsor."

"Good. I'm tired, but I still have to go to the funeral home to see my dear Cecilia for one last time. You do what you have to do."

"Of course." Nathan's expression was as grim as death when the call ended. "Get ready, Colin. We're going to pay the Norrises a visit."

"Yes, sir!" responded Colin before hesitantly adding, "Sir, should we gather the Felidae Battalion or the army of the West?

"This is a personal matter. Besides, you and I will be more than enough to handle it. There's no need to waste any additional military resources." "Understood, sir." A military jet took off from the Capital Garrison in Brimmopolis and flew straight for the West that evening.
