Salute To The General -
Chapter 2393
The next day, the gates to the Norris residence on Mount Rhea in the West were shut tight.
Only the side door was left open with several gatekeepers guarding it. They were chit-chatting while doing so.
It turned out that even the servants of the Norris family knew Bryson had crossed a man named Nathan and that the man was coming for him.
At that moment, Ignatz Fell, the captain of the gatekeepers, was discussing the matter with his partners and wondering if Bryson's enemy would actually show up.
"Ignatz, do you really think that man will be coming here?" asked one of the captain's armored subordinates.
"Many have bluffed about storming into this place, but I've never seen anyone actually doing it. This Nathan guy is probably no different," answered Ignatz with a hearty laugh.
Thinking that Ignatz had got a point, most of his subordinates nodded in agreement.
Still, others had a different take on the matter. "But I heard that the man used to be the Commander-in-Chief of the North Army and that his combat capability was second to none. That's why he was also known as the God of War of Eurasia!"
"He called himself the God of War?" scoffed Ignatz. "The only God of War I know is General Quillen, so I have no idea who this Nathan guy thinks he is. How dare a nobody like him compare himself to the likes of General Quillen! If I were him, I would never show my face here. Otherwise, he's going to get his face stomped in! That'll teach him to mess with us."
Several of Ignatz's men immediately cheered him on. "That's our captain for you! As brave as always!"
After receiving praises, Ignatz puffed out his chest and held his head up high as though he had actually bested the God of War.
Just when the gatekeepers were still buttering up their captain, a black sedan suddenly drove up to them.
Under Ignatz's and the others' curious gazes, a tall figure with obsidian eyes stepped out of the vehicle before his burly companion followed suit.
The two were none other than Nathan and Colin.
However, since Ignatz did not know that it was Nathan, he gestured for a few of his subordinates to follow him and approached the man. "Who are you, and what do you want? Don't you know that this place is off-limits?"
"I've already told Raphael that I'd be coming today. Did he forget about it or something?" questioned Nathan calmly.
Ignatz froze for a moment because he thought Nathan was a special guest.
"Oh, is that so? Then can I have your name please? I'll inform Mr. Norris of your arrival," requested Ignatz respectfully. "Nathan Cross."
When Ignatz and his men heard the name, they almost dropped their jaws. Nathan Cross? He really came!
"So you're the one who threatened the Norrises. We've been waiting for you. Honestly, we all thought you were just bluffing. None of us expected you to have a death wish. If you're just looking to be taught a lesson, there's no need to trouble Mr. Norris. I'm sure I can help you with that. Let me tell you this, though. You have no idea what you've got yourself into," sneered Ignatz condescendingly after returning to his senses.
With that, Ignatz got into a fighting stance and taunted Nathan.
Smirking, Nathan turned to Colin. "Are all the Norrises' guard dogs this arrogant?"
"Probably," replied Colin with a nonchalant shrug.
Guard dogs? Ignatz got enraged immediately after hearing Nathan's mockery, so he roared while charging toward the man.
The captain was as swift as lightning when he made his way over to Nathan, but the God of War was just quicker.
Bam!
Before Ignatz could react, Nathan kicked the captain right in the chest and sent the man flying to the crimson gate. Ignatz then slid down from the gate before falling unconsciously to the ground.
"How dare you attack our captain! Kill him!" shouted one of Ignatz s men.
Furious that Nathan assaulted Ignatz, the group of men rushed forward to avenge their leader.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Before any one of them could even get close to Nathan, they were sent flying to the gate just like their captain.
The crimson gate was eventually busted open after several men were sent crashing into it.
Behind the gate was a servant busy sweeping the floor. After witnessing what happened, he immediately froze like a statue for a while before running oft" screaming, "Help! Help! Somebody just destroyed the gate!" Then, Nathan and Colin casually entered the Norris residence.
