Salute To The General
Chapter 2719

Back at the suite in the hotel in Jinrich, Nathan was receiving the latest updates from Colin. "What did you say? They killed the policemen and took Hideo Komura and Bentley Jabbar?" Colin gave him a bitter smile. "Yeah... We missed them. I can't believe they have the audacity to do that!"

"This is an open attempt to undermine the law. They are testing my patience," Nathan said. "I have a feeling that the mysterious person who saved them is somehow related to the missing people's case in Jinrich.

Use every resource you have. I want you to hunt them down and bring them to me before the sun rises tomorrow. Also, I want to know who the person behind all this is."

"I will ask all the intelligence units in the army to replace all the clues they can. The white hats will also be part of this operation. We will crack this in the shortest amount of time." "Go see to it now."

After Colin left, Penny came in with Ava holding her on the side.

She looked attractive and charming as usual.

When Nathan saw her, he quickly went over to see how she was doing. "Are you okay?" he asked.

"She's not feeling well," Ava replied immediately.

Nathan was alarmed, but Penny forced a smile and tried to comfort him.

"Don't listen to her. It's no big deal. I'm just feeling a little nauseous. It's probably because of the pregnancy."

Nathan heaved a sigh of relief when he heard this. He raised his brows, giving her a helpless expression. Well, there's nothing I can do about that baby in your tummy. Penny smiled, looking at his reaction. It turned out that no matter how powerful Nathan was, there was still nothing he could do when it came to a small matter like this.

"I want to go take a walk outside. I think some fresh air will help me get rid of the tightness I feel on my chest."

"Sure. I'll go with you."

Nathan walked out of the hotel with Penny, bringing only Ava along. Ava figured they might want to spend some time together, so she followed at a distance, trying not to disturb their alone time.

At that time, the moon was already high in the sky, and the night was deep.

They walked side by side down the empty street in the quiet night.

"Ah, I feel much better now." Penny smiled.

"We should do this more often," Nathan said.

"Yeah... You're so busy all the time. I bet you'll be even busier in the future."

"I will still make time for you."

Penny's eyes curved as a sweet smile broke out on her face. "We'll see."

Suddenly, a gush of cold wind blew past, sending a shudder down her body.

"Is it cold for you?" Nathan asked.

He took off his jacket and put it around Penny, who was only wearing a dress that night.

His love warmed her heart. "Thank you," she said softly. "By the way, Hubby, have you found anything about Sera's case?"

"We're still looking into it. It turns out that there are a lot of similar cases around there, so this is much more serious than we think."

"Is that so?" Penny was surprised. "I heard her daughter is the only family she has after her husband died. You must help her replace her daughter. Sera's old already. She can't afford to lose the last family she has. This is just too sad." Nathan nodded. "Don't worry. I've asked Colin to deploy the military intelligence department to investigate this matter. We will get to the bottom of it in no time."

"Good. I know you'll be able to replace her. I believe in you."

Nathan smiled warmly at her.

Just as he was about to tease her, Nathan suddenly felt an air of enmity from behind. His years of experience in the war zone told him that danger was looming. Immediately, he carried Penny away and hid behind a tree.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

As soon as they moved, gunshots resounded in the street.

Hideo and Bentley emerged from the dark, shooting incessantly at Nathan and Penny.

They did not expect Nathan to dodge so quickly, so they continued firing.

Bullets rained on the trees, and bits from the trunks went flying into the air.

Nathan kept his calm, wrapping his arms around Penny behind a tree.

When Hideo and Bentley used up all their bullets, they ran back toward a black Mercedes-Benz parked not far away, getting ready to speed off, but they were ambushed. Before they could even reach the car, a sharp object had pierced through the air, shooting right into Hideo's body like an arrow.

Hideo fell and drop dead right beside Bentley.

Bentley was thunderstruck.

This is... the triangular bayonet!

Despite recognizing the weapon, Bentley had no time to save himself. A dark shadow had sprinted toward him, and it was none other than Ava.

Bentley was terrorized. He reached for the door handle and started the engine.

Pow!

The car jerked violently.

Ava landed on the car and held on to the car top, refusing to let Bentley run free.
