Salute To The General
Chapter 3419 Becoming A Vampire

Suddenly, Hepburn opened her eyes and sat up.

Her sudden movement gave Colin a fright.

Although Nathan had prepared himself mentally, he was still quite taken aback.

Hepburn looked around in confusion before saying uncertainly, "I..."

Lyanna said with a warm smile, "Congratulations, you are now officially a vampire. You are one of us."

Hepburn's face completely changed.

"I can't believe you actually turned me into a vampire."

Lyanna said, "It wasn't me. It was Mr. Cross. He simply couldn't bear to see you perish, so he chose to give you a new life. Moreover, during the awakening ceremony, your will responded. Deep down, you don't want to die. You still want to live in this world, even if it means taking on a different form."

Hepburn wanted to deny it, but Lyanna added, "Do not be so hasty to dismiss it. The body's reactions are often truthful. Can you honestly claim that there is no one in this world whom you are reluctant to part with?"

Hepburn's eyes revealed a hint of panic as she glanced nervously at Nathan beside her.

At this moment, Nathan spoke up and apologized. "It was my fault that you've ended up like this. If you need to blame someone, blame me. With the power I possess, I couldn't bear to simply witness your demise without taking action." Nathan's words resonated with an unexpected potency, surpassing the impact of Lyanna's earlier plea.

Hepburn's anger inexplicably dissipated, and a faint sensation of warmth enveloped her heart.

Her expression grew animated.

"Since it was you who brought me back to life, I will live well according to your wishes. But I'm afraid I can never return to the Curia."

She was right.

Indeed, the Curia had long harbored animosity towards the dark clans, and their antagonism was unlikely to waver regardless of the circumstances surrounding Hepburn's transformation into a vampire.

Should the Curia learn of Hepburn's newfound vampiric nature, they would perceive it as a grave affront and respond by dispatching their men to eliminate her.

Nathan said, "Don't be too disheartened. There might be a favorable turn!"

He said these words not only to comfort Hepburn but also to reassure himself.

Nathan was now a vampire. If his identity were to be exposed, it would have serious consequences.

By then, he might succumb to public pressure and resign from all his positions before his identity was revealed to avoid causing trouble for Eurasia.

Nevertheless, if he were to resign from all his positions, he reckoned the Curia, Wolfric, and the like would probably dare to openly take action against him. His fate, in fact, was just as unpredictable as Hepburn's.

The only hope is that Cross Research Team could develop the serum.

Hepburn chuckled bitterly. "It's ironic, isn't it? Who would have thought that I, the Holy Maiden of the Curia would end up becoming what once despised the most - a vampire, a Fallen Angel."

Nathan said, "Hepburn, if the Curia replaces out about this, they certainly won't want you alive. I suggest you leave with Lyanna first. What do you think?" Hepburn had no other choice but to nod in agreement. "You were the one who resurrected me, so I will follow your arrangements."

Nathan instructed Lyanna, "Take good care of Ms. Hepburn, and don't let her suffer in any way."

Lyanna respectfully said, "Yes, I will declare to the vampires that Hepburn belongs to you, Mr. Cross. No one would dare to harm her!"

Hepburn's face turned slightly red as she felt that Lyanna was saying that she was Nathan's lover.

Nathan didn't pay much attention to all these details. Once he made arrangements, he nodded slightly

and said All right, you may el

now. The people from the

Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor will be arriving soon. I can't explain to them if they see you both."

Lyanna replied, "Got it!"

Hepburn bade goodbye to Nathan reluctantly. "Goodbye, Mr. Cross."

With that, the two of them departed.

When they were gone, Colin finally recovered from his shock.

Nathan instructed, "Clean up the scene."

Colin responded, "Yes!"

They had just finished clearing the scene when a convoy of military vehicles roared into view, unloading over a hundred fully armed special forces soldiers. They were all

members of the Dragoal

Forces.
