-If you won’t tell me about the dress, then we have absolutely nothing to talk about.

That woman was so different…

-The dress doesn’t interest me.

But what such impudence of this man, how does he have the courage to tell me to my face that the dress does not matter to him? He doesn’t think about the huge problem that he is going to put me in…. but what idiot is he.

She was so irritated, she no longer wished to converse with him. Olivia let go of the client’s hand rather forcefully and with the same she opened the door and walked out of his office. If he had the nerve to tell her that he wasn’t interested in solving the garment problem, then she didn’t care to stay in his office either.

What an idiot! my god, he is a jerk. What courage I have, now I have to take responsibility for this dress. I will lose my job.

Olivia claimed to herself as she hurriedly walked to the elevator.

But what… she left without even letting him finish speaking. Caleb stared at the closed door, wondering if he should follow her or leave her. He purses his lips, why should he follow her? She was just an employee he’d had an unusual encounter with, and a bad inconvenience.

However, he resented the fact that she was leaving like that without letting him finish speaking.

-For God’s sake, Caleb.

He denies and goes back to his desk…he was going crazy, how could he even think of going after her, it made no sense for him to do that.

While Caleb went back to his work as usual, Olivia was facing her worst fear. And it wasn’t far off, when she imagined she would be fired, as she walked through the door of the boutique with the dress in her hands and was accosted by her boss in a split second.

-What does this mean? Why is this dress in this condition? What have you done to it, Olivia?! -A very shocked Leticia was looking at her from landmark to landmark, and the look on her boss’s face was much worse.

-I had a little altercation with the client, what happened was that…

-Altercation? Are you telling me that you had an argument with the most important customer this store can have?

-If he’s so important, how come you’re asking him to answer for a stain on a dress?

Her boss looked at her in surprise, it was obvious that she didn’t expect such an answer. But she was tired of being blamed for everything all the time, that man was to blame and no one else. What was it costing her to pay for the damn dress, after all, she had a lot of money.

-It’s inconceivable that you’re talking to me like that, is that how you talked to Mr. Palmer?

-Palmer? -Olivia frowns, until now she remembered that she didn’t know the man’s name.

-Answer the girl.

-Well, I told him he should take care of the dress.

-But this dress is a complete mess,” her boss says to her, offended. I want you to leave, go away, I don’t want you to continue working in this store. You are a disaster as a sales clerk.

Olivia wasn’t going to beg for her job, it was obvious that she was going to be fired. What’s more, if she begged for her job, maybe she would end up working for free, just to pay for the damages of that garment. And that she was not willing to tolerate. The best she could do was to keep quiet.

-I’m so sorry.

-And don’t even think that I’m going to pay you your settlement, even if it’s a pittance, I’m going to take it as compensation for this garment. It’s not even worth it, it’ll do.

-Yes. -She agrees, knowing that this was going to happen.

The brunette changes her clothes and gathers her things to leave the store. When she goes outside, she decides to walk to the bus station, she no longer had the benefit of taking the bus. Knowing her boss, she had probably already passed on the report that she no longer worked for the hotel.

Now she needed to replace another job, not that she was having a bad time, but she couldn’t be out of work either. Her savings wouldn’t last long if she went that long without generating money.

It was a shame, she had worked so hard to save that money for a trip, and now she had to spend it senselessly for her needs at home. And all because of that guy, it was unbelievable that there were men as fresh as him.

She hoped she would never have to meet him again, though that was impossible. She was from completely different worlds, and coincidences were pure luck, although in her case it would be bad luck if she ran into that guy again.

-At least I won’t have to see him at the hotel again.

The breeze hit her face as she walked in the direction of the bus stop, and out of nowhere she thought ….

[…]

The next day, in the afternoon, Caleb entered the hotel and headed straight for the elevator. Following him was his bodyguard at a safe distance. The CEO walked without looking to the sides, but just as the elevator was arriving, his eyes glanced to the side and in the distance he spotted the boutique he frequented.

Rarely, she stopped before reaching her destination. He stared at the store and narrowed his eyes.

He set his steps towards the store, and with each step he took, he felt somewhat uneasy. He shouldn’t, he wasn’t going to do anything.

As he enters the boutique, he immediately remembers the brunette who attended him that time. When she saw him, her eyes widened and her cheeks turned pale.

-Good morning.

-Good morning, Mr. Palmer, how can I help you? -Caleb looked around, noticing that she seemed to be alone.

-Where’s the other young lady? The brunette?

-Olivia? -She answers as if frightened.

-Yes, her. Where is she? -The CEO puts both hands in his pockets.

-She, she… well, she was just fired yesterday.

Caleb was surprised by the news, but didn’t show it. It didn’t seem fair to him that she was fired, yes well, she was a bit haughty, but he didn’t think that for that reason she deserved such a thing. He wanted to know the reason why.

-Why?

-It’s that… well, the dress, she damaged it and the owner got very upset and threw her out.

So, it was all because of the dress. It was silly, she didn’t deserve a firing. Caleb tilts his head as if in thought, now he understood why the brunette had been so angry.

-I’ll pay for the dress, and the damages caused. -Where’s your boss?

-In the back.

-Call her.

The brunette nodded and ran to replace her boss, Caleb let out his breath as he turned around. Behind the glass of the store he could see his bodyguard, he didn’t understand why he was doing that, but it was almost done. Besides, he felt somewhat responsible for that girl’s dismissal.

-Mr. Palmer,” an elegant woman appeared behind him with an open smile on her lips.

-I want you to give Miss Olivia her job back.

-Excuse me?

-I’ll pay for the damage to the dress, but you have to give the young lady her job back.

-Of course, sir. No problem, I’ll call her and give her her job back. I’ll ask her to come in today.

-Okay,” Caleb pulls out his personal credit card. Charge all damages to the garment. And I demand that you be discreet about this, I don’t want that young lady to know anything about this.

-Of course, sir.

[…]

What!, will you give me back my job? surely she is over drunk that woman, how she thinks I am going back to work with her, is that she didn’t even give me the benefit of the doubt.

Olivia looked at the phone once she hung up the call, she wouldn’t dream of going back to work there. Especially if she had to see that guy again. The best thing she could do was to avoid him, even if she needed a job, she would not give in.

He would look for another one, one far away from that hotel….

Apart from that, she was very curious that her former boss asked her to go back to work after the way she had treated her. That was really strange, it didn’t make sense. Anyway, she told him no, and she was counting on him not to call her again.

-She didn’t expect me to come back. I will not treat people who mistreat others just because they are of a low social status. I have my dignity, besides, they are no better than anyone else.

[…]

Caleb looked at the time on his watch, it was very late. He stands up and decides to go home… after a few minutes in the elevator, the CEO leaves the metal box, and just happens to glance towards the boutique, noticing that it was still open. It was strange, sometimes at that time it was already closed.

But he counted on the owner to keep her word to give Olivia her job back. At least she no longer had a guilty conscience. She continued to move forward, when out of nowhere she noticed the brunette’s companion leaving the store, but she was alone, where was her friend?
