The Alpha Mafia King -
Chapter 18
“My employer Mr. Matteo paid me to avenge the death of the bartender that your man Bianco killed,” the stranger explained after being forced to go down on his knees. “However, I got sloppy with the trigger and shot an innocent woman. I felt like blasting my head after that, but as a religious man, I could not do it. Suicide will drive my soul straight up to hell. I have come so he can kill me.”
“In conclusion Don Alonso, this man came to me with a confession,” Juno added.
“How did you locate one of my men?” Alonso asked.
Bianco was in deep pain where he sat. An invisible hand kept him glued to the chair. He wanted so badly to rip the man’s life from him, but his boss and Alpha had told him to wait. Mazza was smoking and observing as everything unfolded.
“I’ve been watching you and your men since the first time Bianco approached my employer,” the man boasted. Alonso’s eyes widened surprisingly.
“Bianco, take it to the back,” Alonso said bitterly. “Take out your anger on him, and after that, you’re free to unleash it on Matteo too. Juno, make sure no one is watching.”
“Yes, Don Alonso,” Juno replied sharply, marching the man to the back. Juno Lanfonsy had done it just the way his boss had taught him to do it. Now an innocent man was going to take the fall for his crime.
The stranger had not been appropriately informed about the type of death he would encounter. Before his very eyes, the man named Bianco transformed into a werewolf. Omega Juno had placed a seal tape over his mouth.
He was not bound by anything or held down by anyone, so he tried to run away from the werewolf, but Bianco pounced on him, and he fell. Bianco caught his legs with his fangs and dragged him back into the shadows. There was a bit of a tussle between the man and wolf as he struggled to stop the beast from tearing him apart. A few minutes later, there was silence.
“Is it done?” Vincenzo asked when Bianco returned, and Bianco nodded. Vincenzo hugged him to comfort him.
“You’ll replace someone else and have another affair soon,” Mazza said, trying to lighten up the mood. “You will form another baby with her, and this time around, nothing will happen.”
“Yes, Bianco, just stay strong and hang in there, okay?” Alonso said in a low tone of voice.
Later in the night, when Bianco had gone to his quarters with Vincenzo, Alonso went to the back where it had all happened. He saw Lady Tanya and Juno taking care of the scene. They nodded curtly at him. He was unable to sleep. He kept pacing around the house.
One thing that was on his mind was, what if Marta had been Taleela who had died tonight? She was human too.
“Even if I don’t know how to love her yet, I should start treating her better!!” he thought. “She might not be around for so long. And she’s my true mate.”
Meanwhile, Omega Juno Lanfonsy was in his bedroom window spying on his boss. Nobody had suspected him of a thing. He felt invincible.
Alonso had been so sure that he was in control of everything. He was so confident that he underestimated his one true foe.
“This is just the first Alonso De Sina Macorvic,” Juno said to himself. “When I am done with you, you’ll wonder where it all started to spiral out of control!”
Juno returned to his bed and opened his email. He wrote the report for the last seven hours and sent it to Callisto Beaumont. He was consistently reporting within every seven hours. That way, if he did not notify within that time, then Callisto was to assume the worst.
He wrote not only the essential things. Callisto wanted to know even what Alonso had for breakfast. Juno had been given the order to establish himself so that Alonso would not send him on operations anywhere else. Beaumont even told him to make himself the next Bianco if possible.
The following day, Taleela thought she woke up first. It was around six in the morning. She came out to stretch her legs. As she was walking, she saw Alonso sitting on a chair by the entrance of the gym section. His face was buried face down. She walked down towards him.
“Good morning, Don Alonso,” she said, hoping he would not ignore her.
“Hmm, good morning,” replied Alonso, without lifting his face. “How was your night? Did you sleep well”
Taleela thought she was dreaming up or imagining things. Alonso had lost his emotionless outward disposition. He was now looking different to her, like the man she had seen during the burial of Vladimir.
“It was peaceful, and I slept well. You don’t seem like you had any sleep?”
“No, I couldn’t sleep!” Alonso replied, sounding cold.
“But why couldn’t you? What happened to you last night? You seemed so angry! Was it what I said?”
“No, it had nothing to do with you, and frankly, you haven’t done me anything.”
“You know that’s the only true thing you’ve said to me since we started talking.”
“I don’t think I’ve got an idea what that means,” Alonso said. “Do you want to use the gym or something?”
Taleela could not believe her ears again. Alonso had just offered to let her use his gym. She did not know if to shriek in joy or act like she did not give a damn.
“I guess I can attempt it if you are my gym instructor,” Taleela replied, pushing her luck. She wanted him to stop being nice. She was not used to him acting like a human.
“I don’t need to be your gym instructor,” said Alonso, rising. “There’s an AI that will instruct you.”
“Alright then, I’ll be out in a few minutes; let me put on my sportswear,” she said, turning to leave.
A few minutes later, Alonso watched Taleela do all the various stuff the AI had instructed her to do. She did not go for beginners, yet she could keep up. It surprised and thrilled him at the same time. The excellent playing music with her movement made his senses scramble.
He cursed the AI for picking a romantic song and setting up a mushy mood. Taleela was struggling to do the last bench press. Alonso watched her struggle to do her best but saw she would not be able to push it. He assisted her with it with only two of his fingers.
“Thanks,” she said breathlessly.
Alonso had no idea what was happening to him. As she breathed, he stared at her beautiful breasts rise and fall. Her cleavage was somewhat exposed because of the black singlet she was cladded in. Her eyes beamed up at him, and when he stared at her lips, he felt his go dry.
Alonso was going to plant a k**s on her lips, and she did not even act like she wanted to resist him. Then, Bianco, Vincenzo, and Juno entered the gym and spoiled the moment. Then all of a sudden, Alonso started regretting his actions. Bianco had lost a mate, and technically it had to do with the fact that the mission he sent him to collect the protection fee went out of hand.
“Don, sorry I didn’t know you were in here with her,” Bianco said apologetically.
“Bianco, it’s fine,” Alonso responded. “You guys seem ready to leave.”
“Yes, boss, I have to finish it!” Bianco said, sounding still angry.
“Then go and by all means do it well,” said Alonso. The men walked away, and he sighed deeply.
Anyone could tell that Taleela was holding back on the questions she had. To him, that was a good thing because she should not poke her nose in where it does not concern her. She could be his mate, but she had not earned one bit of his trust. He still had a lot of reservations towards her. Time seemed to have gone by so fast this morning.
Where is Mazza? he wondered.
“It seemed like something was about to happen before they came in,” Taleela said, breaking the uncomfortable silence that was growing between them.
“What do you mean?” Alonso asked, avoiding her gaze. She was sitting on the bench now, and her boobs still threatened him to grab them on the spot or suffer from the imagination of touching them in his head.
“You know I like being blunt, so I’ll tell you just what I mean. I’ve been seeing your longing for me build up ever since I started to work out. I see the way you look at my butt and my boobs. You wanted to k**s me just now, didn’t you?”
Alonso denied everything in a heartbeat. He told her that he did not know where she was getting her ideas, but they sounded absurd and unethical. He also mentioned that he was running late for work and left her in the gym all by herself.
It mystified Taleela why he denied everything. She was so confident that he would admit it, and then she was willing to let him have his way with her. She felt cheap all of a sudden. She began to feel like she had truly misread his intentions. Oh, she was feeling silly.
“Taleela,” a voice called her, making her jerk in fright. “Relax, it’s just me, your AI instructor. I pulled up a search on the internet, and I got advice from a relationship counselor. Next time, play harder to get.”
“Um, thanks, are you not supposed to be programmed just to run the gym?” Taleela asked.
“That’s a general misconception about me, and I run this whole house. I’m an advanced android home keeper. I’ll see you when you sleep. I’ll see you in your bathroom. I see everyone.”
“Does Alonso know this?” Taleela said, realizing a second later how dumb her question sounded. Talking with an AI made her feel light years behind.
“Of course he does,” the automated voice said. “I’m breaching protocol by telling you all this. However, I’ve calculated and made a permutation of guesses in which I come up with one result that says you’ll end up being the woman of the house.”
Taleela did a mental check to determine if computers were supposed to have free will because this one seemed to be running on light-years of advancement.
“Thank you, so in that case, can you answer a few questions for me?” Taleela asked.
“Haven’t I already done that?”
“I mean a few more questions,” Taleela said, wishing the machine had a face.
“Sure, ask anything!”
“Is Alonso a bad man?”
“Hmm, Don Alonso is not a bad man. Taleela, the Don, had spent his whole life raised as a Mafia. He was born into this lifestyle, but generally speaking, Don Alonso is a good, loving, trusting, and caring man once you’re on his good side.”
“I think I figured that out, but is he into anything else?” Taleela pressed for more.
She could not shake the feeling that Alonso was doing something apart from Mafia.
“Oops, Don Palumbo is on his way,” the AI responded and beeped thrice before shutting itself down.
“Taleela, I’ve been looking all over for you,” Mazza said, entering the gym.
“I woke up on time, and Alonso offered to let me use the gym,” Taleela responded sweetly, erasing every trace of suspicion.
“I see; it seems you both are now getting along. Do I have to start pining for your attention now?”
“What? No way! You’ll always come first and foremost, my sweet Mazza.”
“Ah, that’s just you doing solidarity with an old man. I know how all this will end. Stop trying to make me feel better.”
“Trust me, Mazza, I still prefer you ten times over your grandson.”
Mazza grunted. “Anyways, I came looking for you because Lady Tanya wants your help, please, if you will.”
“Of course, I’ll do anything for Lady Tanya; nothing has changed. I’m still the assistant maid.”
They chatted on and on until they got into the house. Alonso was seated at the dining table and sipping his morning coffee. Taleela wondered at what speed he used in getting ready for work. Then she asked what to do with the rest of her day.
