Chapter 42

Lucy's POV

I awoken from my sleep by little hands tugging on my hair as I slowlyopened my eyes I looked over and seen Lilith playing with my hair. I satup feeling a little dizzy I grabbed my head and steadied myself beforetrying to move again. Once I knew I was able to move normally Igrabbed Lilith and hugged her close to me when all of a sudden therewas a knock on the door and a man walked in and he had the mostgorgeous green eyes with short blonde hair and he was about 6'4 andvery well toned from what I could see through the skin tight V-neckshirt he was wearing that hugged every dip and curve of his pecks andabs. As I sat there drooling over him I didn't even notice when he wentfrom the doorway to sitting on the bed in front of me.

"Hello there gorgeous might I ask your name and who this little cutieis?" he asked with a gentle smile playing on his gorgeous plumpkissable lips.

"Umm....uhhhh....I'm Lucy and this is Lilith or Lily for short" I stammer"Lucy what a lovely name. I'm Tate by the way I'm the one that met youat the border and carried you here after you passed out fromexhaustion." Tate told me

"How long have I been out for?" I ask curious

"Only about a day but don't worry I've been taking care of Lilith hereand she’s such a little cutie and everyone absolutely loves her. Is sheyour daughter?” he asks looking away from me as I saw anger andjealousy flash through his eyes before he looked away from me.

"No she isn't my daughter she's my Alpha and Luna's Daughter somebad men were sent by another bad man to take her but my pack and Iwere able to get her out and here for protection.” I tell him

"I know I'm your mate I heard you say it before I passed out" I sayblushing as he whipped his head towards me so fast I swear hewould've given himself whiplash.

"Oh well I'm glad you did you are gorgeous and I'm already falling foryou hard baby girl" Tate says as he cups my cheek with his hand as heplaces a soft and gentle kiss on my lips before pulling away making asmall whine escape my throat.

"Come on love let's go and get you both fed" He says as he grabs Lilyfrom me before taking my hand and helping me up from the bedbefore bringing us downstairs and into the kitchen to fix us somethingscrumptious to eat even though all I wanted was him in every singleway I could have him. I stopped thinking like that before I jumped hisbones right here and right now because I had other things to worryabout like hoping that Jace and Skylar are all right and make it backsafely for Lilith's sake.

As we were eating the lovely and tasty lunch that my mate hadprepared for us I tried to mind link Jasper to see if we were still inlinking distance so I could tell him we were okay and to see if he hadheard anything.

“Jasper can you hear me?" I ask through the link, I waited a few minutesand as I was about to give up I heard him loud and clear making mesigh in relief that he was still alive.

“Lucy god I have been trying to reach you I was worried that somethinghappened to you guys’ he linked back

“I've been out for about a day but it's okay me and Lilith are safe wemade it to the Mystic Pack and I'm glad that you are alive’ I say backsmiling

I'm glad you guys made it there and are safe. How's Lilith doing hasshe been good?" Jasper asks worriedly

“She's fine. Everyone here absolutely loves her and I found my mate hehappens to be Alpha Derek's Beta. Oh have you heard anything backfrom Alpha Jace about what's going on and if they are okay or if theyhad gotten Skylar back yet?" I ask out of curiosity

“Not yet but I will let you know as soon as I know but there's somethingoff about all of this that isn't sitting right with me about how thoseguys got onto the territory again. Someone must have told them andhelped them get through our borders which means there has been atraitor here from the beginning and I have a feeling I know who it isconsidering I haven't seen him in a while.’ Jasper tells me with anger“Okay stay safe Jasper I don't want another friend to die and don'tworry about us we will be fine. Just focus on bringing the traitor downand link us when you hear anything from Jace stay safe and I'm so sorryabout Alex he was a good man and a good brother and a good friend" Itell him as sadness laced my words

Yeah he was all of those and more and now he's with the MoonGoddess and I hope he is happy where he is. Don't worry about me Ialways stay safe and once I replace anything out I'll let you know and I'mhappy for you finally replaceing your mate Lucy he is one lucky guy tohave you as a mate’ he links back before blocking the connection. OnceI'm done talking with Jasper I finish my lunch before heading into theliving room with Tate and Lilith where I see that they set up a spot forher to play with toys and stuffed animals and things which made mesmile despite the deep sadness for the loss of my pack members.Jasper's POV

After I awoke in the forest clearing I shifted and ran back to the packhouse and once I was there I shifted back and put some clothes onbefore going into the pack house but as soon as I got there I heardsomeone in the house and took a defensive stance before entering thehouse ready to kill whoever it was. As I made my way in the front doorand towards the second floor where the scent was stronger I walkedinto the room where Amber's dead body still was and that's when Iseen him. I stood there staring at him until he turned and finally noticedI was there as he jumped back with a start seeing as I scared him forsome reason but what I didn't understand was where he has been thisentire time.

"What the fuck are you doing here and where have you been when wewere getting attacked again! Alex and Amber are fucking dead andwhere the fuck were you besides not fucking here helping your packmates out! What the fuck were you doing while your pack mates werebeing murdered huh?!" I scream at him demanding an explanation forwhere he was and what he was doing while his pack mates were beingbrutally killed. He just stood there staring at me with a look of shockthat slowly faded into a smirk as he started to laugh like seriously whatthe fuck is wrong with this dude who betrays their pack like that. As Istood there watching him laugh maniacally he stopped and turned andjumped through the broken window and ran off into the forest like thecowardly traitor he is. If I ever see him again I will not hesitate to kill thesick bastard without a care in the world no matter what the Alpha says.
