The Alpha's Unwanted Mate
The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 69 Book 2 Chapter 1

Xavier didn’t lie, he brought her somewhere where she was accepted, a place where the past didn’t matter. The people here were all rogues, but they were nice.

Unlike the packlands where she had previously lived, omegas could train like any other wolf. There were no specific rank, everybody were equals…

Celeste could talk without being judged or looked down at and she had friends, a lot of them. Before now, she thought that rogues were evil creatures, but now after living with them 2 months, she realized that they all just needed a little guidance and Xavier had offered that to them.

He made them a home, gave them something to live for, he had done so much for them, and so much for her.

If it weren’t for him, she’d perhaps be buried in _

For a full month after she had left the pack, all she did was cry for Zillon and everytime a tear ran down her cheek, Xavier was there to wipe it. He was so nice and gentle that three weeks ago when he stepped into her room to comfort her, he didn’t have to.

She didn’t cry, she had held it in and from then on, she continued to.

She had no right crying over a cheater, Xavier had told her so many times and she was just now understanding what he meant…

What would crying do?

Things have already gotten this far, Zillon already cheated and she had already left him for it. Why should she continue to suffer when Zillon was probably happy with Celia?

Why did she always have to be the one to feel pain?

Those questions were what popped into her head when she decided to stop thinking about Zillon as her mate, his mark on her neck had dissipated into nothing now and her mark wasn’t on his neck either. There was nothing to reminisce about, sure he had made her happy sometimes, but most times he made her cry…

She had stopped crying over and for him now though, she was stronger, both mentally and physically. The rogues trained alongside her, even the strong ones had treated her as though they were equals.

They didn’t degrade her wolf because it was small, they instead told her that it was her advantage. They said the lighter the wolf, the faster it’d be and speed was something important when it came to battles…

After two months of staying here, she realised that she wasn’t the old Celeste anymore, but she was much better than that girl who use to endure being bullied and being unwanted…

Now that she had friends and people who acted as though they were her family, she knew that she shouldn’t have been so pitiful and stupid back then.

She shouldn’t have forgiven Zillon, she shouldn’t have waggled behind as if without him she couldn’t breathe, he must’ve thought she was stupid, he must’ve have laughed at her in silence, and mocked her behind her back…

It was all good now though, he couldn’t mock her anymore, she had friends now, and moreover she had Xavier.

He treated her better than Zillon ever could. If it meant her wellbeing, Xavier would give up his life for it, he treated as if she was his prize, she could tell he really cared for her and she cared for him deeply as well…

But she co—

Celeste jumped when three knocks sounded from the door. It was Xavier, she could smell him.

Smiling, she repositioned herself on the bed. “You come in, the door’s open.”

Not a second later, the knob was twisted and her door was shoved right open. Inside Xavier stepped, his tall physique making him look like a giant. “I thought you’d be sleeping, but I took the risk of knocking, am I bothering you?”

Celeste shook her head. “No, come in.”

Xavier shoved the door close behind him, taking a seat beside Celeste on the bed. “Are you alright?”

“Yes, are you?”

“I’m fine, you were the one who was training like Optimus prime earlier in the day…I was sure you were going to pass out early.”

“Well looky here, the robot’s still awake…by the way, what do you want?”

Xavier looked over at her, his face expression hard to read. “It’s been two months Celeste…you tell me you care and yet I can never get close enough to touch you…even when you were in heat a week ago, you locked me out. I get that you’re probably still in pain, but what about me? You’ve been saying you’re mine and I can’t even k**s you…”

Celeste sighed, turning to face the walls… “It’s just…it’s just that you’re his…his brother. Everytime I remember that, I feel like I can’t trust you or myself. I understand that you’re frustrated, I’m frustrated too, but I-I just can’t.”

“Be honest, I won’t take it to heart, do you really care about me?”

Celeste nodded immediately, her eyes quickly darting over to him. “I do, you know that….it’s just uncomfortable to leave one brother for the other…I feel lik—”

“We’re not brothers anymore, our bond had severed years ago…it’s been nine years, the b***d that I shared with him has now ran dry…why do you keep bringing him up? I waited for years and even when you’re here, I still have to be waiting.” He rose to his feet, turning his back to her. “I’ll go back to my room for now, I’ll see you tomorrow.”

Celeste grabbed his hand before he could leave, all her vulnerability clear on her face. “Y-You can stay here tonight.”

“No, I don’t want to make you feel uncomfortable.”

“You won’t… I want you here… with me.”

Xavier looked back at her. “You sure?”

Celeste nodded.

Xavier sat back down on the bed. “Will I at least be able to hug you without being pushed away?”

Celeste nodded again. “I think so…”

“Come then…” He opened his arms and Celeste reluctantly fell into them. His fingers slithered through her hair, and though the feeling of having someone other Zillon touch her was new, she had to get use it if she really wanted to forget about Zillon and only think about the person who had made her smile and not cry; Xavier…
