The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 89 Book 2 Chapter 21
Zillon stepped inside of his house, wearing the gold bracelet Celeste had gotten him around his wrist. He had taken it off a while ago because everytime he looked at it, it made him more anxious to replace her, but now that he’d found her, it felt like it belonged around his wrist.
It was suppose to be a gift that marked forever and yet just after he received it, Celeste and him were torn apart…how tragic…
Sighing, he pocketed his hands, stepping into the living room where Fredd and Liam sat, watching the television. He snorted, grabbing their attention immediately.
“You’re back, I see.”
Zillon nodded at Liam. “Yes…you guys can take your leave now.”
“But y—”
“I’m okay, the pain’s gone now and I don’t think it’ll be back anytime soon…I want to be alone…I wish to speak to her…I want to get this off my chest…I don’t care if she’ll believe or not, I want her back…it’s too painful to not have her on my side.”
“That’s more of a reason why we should be here…what if you lose control? Or worst, what if you collapse?”
“I won’t, I’ll be okay…I promise.”
Liam twisted his lips, seeming to be considering something. “I don’t th—”
“Just get out, Liam.”
Liam sighed, raising to his feet. “I admire the time I spent here, I idled a lot, I ate a lot and now it’s times for me to leave all this luxury behind. It’s unfortunate…but I shall go, everybody needs privacy, right Fredd?”
Fredd nodded. “Yes, but surprisingly we don’t get to have that back at our place.”
Liam shook his head pitifully at himself. “I forgot for a second, but that’s exactly why we left and came here. It wasn’t really about protecting Celeste, but we did our job. She hasn’t eaten since this morning, we brought her food, but she refused them, check the kitchen, there’s food in there, perhaps she’ll eat it from you.”
“She won’t, but I’ll try…now leave, you too Fredd.”
Fredd g*****d, mirroring Liam’s action by standing up. “You really are a selfish bastard, even with a freaking house.”
Both of them stumped pass him and he patted each their shoulder as they left. They were annoying, but honestly they were good friends.
Walking into the kitchen, he heated the food they claim to have cooked and walked up the stairs to Celeste’s room. He was reluctant for a minute, but eventually he knocked. “I’m coming in…”
As expected, he received no response, but he twisted the knob and pushed the door open anyway. Celeste sat on the edge of the bed, glaring at the floor. “What do you want?”
“I came to have you listen to what I have to say, you promised you’d listen.”
“Spit it out then, as promised, I’m listening.”
“Can I sit beside you?”
“Did you ask me if you could kidnap me before you did?”
“No but I—”
“Then do what you want, it’s obvious that my consent isn’t important when it involves you.”
“Celeste…”
Celeste looked up at him, the coldness in her eyes causing his heart to tremble. “Just start talking, Zillon.”
The way she spat his name was unlike any other time she had graciously said it. It was spoken with so much venom that it stung.
Turning away, Zillon stretched the plate over to her. “Here, it’s a long story…at least eat while I tell it.”
Celeste glared at the plate for long before taking it. “Go ahead now.”
Zillon took a seat on the floor in front, folding his legs. “First I’m going to start by saying that your consent means everything to me and that I’m truly sorry for all that I’ve put you through, you didn’t deserve it, in fact you don’t deserve any of this that you’re going through. Everything started because of me and my incompetence and I know you probably think that your life was better off before meeting me, but I promise I can do better and I can be better for you…I swear that I’d do nothing to hurt you again, I won’t be controlling or overly possessive, I’ll listen to you, I won’t just assume, and I won’t ever get angry at you again and even if I do…we’ll talk it out, I won’t yell and I won’t ignore you…I’ll change, I promise.”
“Is this what you wanted me to listen to? If so, then there’s already someone who does all of that, your plan to change is apparently too late.”
“It isn’t, we’re mates…nothing is ever too late…” He cleared his throat, uncomfortably shuffling on the floor. “That night, I’ll confess, it was me, but as for the girl I was standing with, I could’ve sworn on my life that it was you.
That day we had an argument, Xavier had shown up out of the blues in front of you and I lost it…I called you a devil, I called you a two-timer and when I was suppose to apologize, I walked away. Either way, you fell asleep and so I left you a note and went on to help with preparing the ceremony. I knew you’d come, the note I left told you to, however that night you came to me crying that you wanted to call off the ceremony…”
