Caliana's

POV

The next day I woke up earlier than usual because I needed to get some things done. I went to the new construction site for the elderly homes to inspect the project, and they were coming up well. One mansion was done already so we needed to start decorating it for occupation as the elderly members were complaining that it took a long time. Merabi, Steven, and I went to check out the decoration and pick out furniture.

"These old people can be demanding, can you believe I was sent the colors for types of furniture, and apparently, the pool is small," He said. The "Golden Stone Pack did know how to treat the elderly well.

"Those people built this pack, they are soldiers who fought to be where we are... If they want a pool the size of a house," Merabi said.

"I'm just saying they are quite demanding," He sighed. Merabi and Steven have a relationship of mouse and cat, but they manage to work well together.

We left the stores and went to the food court, we were all hungry and tired and it was only 2 pm! I can only imagine how it will be during the celebrations of thanksgiving to the moon. We ordered food and ate as soon as it was here. "What happens to the mansion the elderly are leaving?" I asked.

"I don't think much will be done to it, it's in a secluded area and no one wants to be there,"

"What about placing it as the new rehab center?" Asked Steven.

"The director requested something near the general hospital, in case of an emergency," Merabi answered. This pack was too wealthy and they didn't even know what to do with a whole mansion yet they were homeless people on their border and no one did a thing about it. I shook my head.

"Maybe break it down and use the materials, it is pricey," Merabi suggested.

"Break down a whole mansion? No, I think I have a good use for it," I said and they looked at me questioningly. The mansion is in good condition already, there was a pool, a huge garden, and everything. The strays outside the border can stay there while I make a plan of employment and school. I momentarily closed my eyes when I thought about school for the kids. I doubt any of those elitist moms would agree to let the rogue kids join the private schools in the pack.

'They wouldn't even allow them in public schools,' Liana sighed.

I got out of my thoughts to join the conversation Merabi and Steven were having. "I'm just glad the project is finally over, it has been on standby for four years!" Merabi said. I squinted my eyes, why was it held that long, it only took us a few months to finish up. "Why did you take so long to finish up?" I asked, drinking my smoothie.

"Luna Jane Anne was as lazy as they come. Cutie and no brains," Steven laughed and immediately stopped, looking at me wide-eyed.

"Jane Anne," I whispered. No one up to now even spoke her name to me. I looked at Steven, he looked terrified, and even Merabi was startled. Jane Anne.

"So that's her name,"

"Luna, I'm sorry about-"

"Tell me about her," I asked. I was curious to learn about Jane Anne. I wanted answers to ease myself. I wanted to know why nobody spoke of her, is she dead? Did she leave?

"We can't. Please understand," He said and I nodded.

"Pictures?" They sadly shook their heads, this was eating me away.

We finished shopping and decided to call it a day, I was tired and so were my colleagues. As I walked on, her name replayed in my head. Jane Anne.

I went back home and welcomed my little princess.

I helped her out of her school uniform and took her downstairs for cookies. She chatted away and I tried to be jolly for her but my mind was occupied with thoughts of Jane Anne.

"You told me you have a picture of your mommy, can I see it?" I asked gently.

"I would show you but I can't remember where I put it," She said. "I always put it in my princess box stash, "

After she was done eating, we went to her room to look for her chest.

"What does it look like?" I asked.

"It's pink and in a heart shape," Love's room was massive and princess-styled. We looked through every drawer and under the bed but didn't replace it and when she finally remembered where she kept it, the picture was not there. Disappointed, we left the room and went to the home cinema to watch a movie. We watched a comedy movie but I slept halfway and when I woke up, I was in my room. I squinted my eyes and found the Alpha staring at me, he looked indifferent.

"Why do you insist on going against me?" I was stunned for a while, what was he talking about?

"What do you mean, Alpha,"

"You wrecked my daughter's room to look for a picture!" He shouted. Oh f**k, not again. I swallowed.

"I'm sorry,"

"This should be the last time we talk about this. You're in my house, my pack and I wish certain things mustn't be talked about, obey like the little Luna you are," He growled. He turned around to walk out but I stopped him. "Not talking about her only fuels my desire to know,"
