I fumed as soon as my eyes landed on him, however, I was swooning as I watched my mate kill the vampires I was fighting gracefully and with ease. After discussing the situation that happened. We went to the manor with me avoiding Edward but all he wanted to do

He didn't even notice that I was angry, how slow-witted was he with women's anger? I bid my goodbye to Ansley before rushing to our bedroom and Edward followed suit on my heels. I was about to close the door in his face but he pushed it open and entered the room, and scowled at me. "What is wrong with you?" He asked,

"I almost died, should I smile?" I retorted. I went into the bathroom and took off his shirt, leaving me bare. I gasped when he entered and stood in front of me.

"Can't you see I'm naked, Alpha?" I spoke in a hard tone. His eyes trailed on my body and I felt heat over my skin but I didn't show him my embarrassment.

"I know every little detail on that body of yours," He stood next to me, his pose arrogant and intimidating as he stared at me and I didn't avert my gaze. "And soon to see more naked women," I murmured. He gripped my sides and pulled me close to him.

"You're angry with me," He said in a soft voice.

"Just leave me be, Edward," I grumbled, getting out of his grasp.

"I like it when you call me by my name, without being formal," He said, he bent his neck to kiss me but I moved my face and he kissed my cheek.

"I'll freshen up," He tightened his grip on me.

"Let me go!" I shouted.

"Why are you angry with me? I didn't do anything," His question irritated me more.

"She's f*****g coming back and you didn't even have the balls to tell me," I hissed and he immediately let go of me, his face holding a blank stare. He sighed and inspected my body for injuries but I swat his hands from my body.

"I'll bring something to clean your wounds," He said, leaving the room while I sat on the boulder of the jacuzzi. Was he going to ignore me? He walked back in with gauze and ointments in his hands, he put them down and got on one knee, lifted one of my legs, and gently started to clean my open wound there. One by one he cleaned everything until he reached the biggest claw mark on my side. I hissed and closed my eyes.

"I'm sorry I was late," His moves were gentle and I took this time to study his features, he was gorgeous indeed. A small smile made its way to my lips but as soon as he glanced up at me, it was gone.

"Candace is coming back and you didn't tell me?" I started the topic.

"She's not coming to this house, Caliana," He said.

"I don't care,"

He sighed, exasperated.

"Tell me what you want. Do you want me to banish her?" He asked, I didn't know if he was serious or ridiculing me. His face gave nothing away; he was just placid.

I scoffed and stood up, I walked past him into the shower and he followed still.

"Caliana, don't worry about her," He said gently. I was more worried about him than her. I didn't care for that woman at all. Edward watched me shower until I was done, he handed me a white towel that I wiped my body with and then gave me another to cover myself. I got out and stood close to him, "If you say so, husband,"

"You're still mad," He stated, entering the closet after me.

"I don't know what you want me to do here, they are some matters that are too trivial for me to involve myself in,"

"Your mistress tried to kill your wife, yeah, so trivial," I disparaged.

"She's not my mistress, you know this,"

I put on my sweatpants and shirt and left him in the wardrobe. I felt his presence behind me as I checked my phone for updates and messages from Steven and Merabi. Nothing much has been happening except the preparation of the festivities. "You fought well today when you were attacked, I'm proud of you," I turned around to face him and smiled genuinely,

"Thank you," I said. He was proud of me, I was so happy at this moment. I'm proud of you, he said. It might not signify much to anyone but it meant so much to me.

I was so exhausted, Vampires were hard to kill, they kept coming to no end! I went to sit on the couch and he sat next to me. Why was he being so clingy today? Did the thought of losing me frighten him? I put my head on his shoulder and he stroked my hair. "Must we dine with the guests tonight?" I asked lazily.

"No, I think you should rest. I'll have your food sent over to you," As soon as I heard the word rest from his lips, I yawned. I lay on the bed and soon, sleep enveloped me.

I woke up later in the night and Edward stirred next to me, I got out of bed, I was so hungry since I didn't wake up to eat.

"Where are you going?"

"Grabbing an apple or something," I said and left the room. Reaching the kitchen, I grabbed various fruits and chopped them, I put them in a bowl and ate quietly. I turned around when I felt his presence and smiled. "You didn't have to come,"

"I know," Alpha Edward said. He sat next to me and sighed.

"Those vampires that attacked us, will we be seeing more of them?" I asked and he shook his head.

"No, they wanted Ansley and she has put a barrier around the pack against them," He informed me and I felt relieved.

We were silent again. He had a faraway look in his gaze and I asked; "What is it,"

I was extremely worried and scared about you today, "He seemed surprised even as he uttered the words.

"Thanks?" I didn't know what to say. He looked at me for a long time. "Caliana, I think you're important to me,"

He couldn't believe his words, and my heart fluttered at his confession. Slowly, Edward was making room for me, not only in his life but in his heart too. I've known for a long time just how important he was to me. I thought about him all the time. "I would like to have something more with you,"
