Edward's POV

I was mortified. I was f*****g ashamed that I lived with a woman for more than a month that wasn't my real Luna. My heart constricted in my chest and all I wanted to do was scream in rage or break down into darkness, however, I couldn't right now so I did the best thing I could. I grabbed a bedside lamp and threw it against the wall and it broke into pieces. Soon, the other furniture followed. I sat in the dark room, cursing myself at what I did. My mate probably thinks the worst of me and she should, how can I ever face her after what I did? After the pain, I put her through. I buried my face into my hands, and all emotional strength left me by now. The door soon opened and my brother, Jamal, walked in. He sighed at the sight of my room and got on one knee in front of me. "It's not your fault, Edward," He assured me but I scoffed.

"I was fooled, again, and I don't know where my mate is, I'm sure she thinks the worst of me. My Caliana hates me,"

"Candace planned this all too well with the dark witch," He said and I raised my head to look at him. I just don't know what to do, it's the first time I don't know what to do.

"Is Ansley here?"

"No, her fiance doesn't want her out of their territory, so she sent another priestess to help," He informed me and I nodded.

My inner Lycan is suffering, calling unto his mate but she doesn't answer him. We don't even f*****g know where she is.

'Her pack!' Ward said and I abruptly stood up, indeed, she was there when all this s**t went down.

"Where are you going?"

"I'm going to explain what happened to my mate and beg on my knees for forgiveness," I growled. I was irritated at this point, I hated myself for what happened. I marched downstairs, but Marcus stopped me. "You will have to wait before you go to your mate, "

"Why?"

"Because Candace has something important to tell you," He said. I didn't want to see her as Caliana. I was afraid I would kill her and it is only fair that Caliana does, I won't take that away from her. As if reading my mind, he said " She's back to her true form, the priestess did her think," He informed us with a dirty smile on his lips and clutched his chest " She did something to my heart too," He winked and I snarled, moving past him. I soon reached the dungeons, I could hear the soft sobs of Candace, and when I was in her view of vision, she wailed louder.

"Alpha, look what they are doing to me,"

She looked like a strange woman, clearly, the female guards were torturing her, her hair was disheveled and she had bruises and blood all over her body. It will be worse for her when they hear about her crimes against their Luna, already, members despise Candace because of her arrogance.

"Speak," I ordered.

"I'm pregnant," She cried and I was sure all color drained from my face, this couldn't be f*****g happening right now. I was angry and shaking with anger, I ripped the door open and grabbed her by the neck. I pinned her against the wall.

"You're a f*****g liar, a f*****g traitor doesn't deserve to carry something as precious as my bloodline,"

"But... it's true," She croaked, hot tears running down her face. I abruptly let her go and left the dungeon.

I'd been pacing around the living room for over half an hour when Candace's aunt walked in, I growled at the sight of that woman, doesn't she have dungeon time for a few weeks? "Alpha, She's pregnant, how can you treat the mother of your child in such a manner?" She asked, dumbfounded.

"Get out of my sight or you'll join her,"

"I did nothing wrong, and as a member of this pack, I know my rights," She was determined. "Alpha, I've come with a doctor who will confirm she is telling the truth," She said, gesturing for a frail tall man to come closer, he wore a doctor's coat over his clothes, clearly a ploy to convince me.

"Once Candace even mentions your involvement in her plan, even if it was an insignificant part, you'll be locked away in the dungeons for a long time," I told her and her breath hitched. She shook her head vigorously and slowly backed away from me, keeping her eyes locked on mine like prey would her predator. The 'doctor' too was horrified and shaking in apprehension. I felt satisfaction once they left. Soon, Jamal entered the room with doctor Scapes, and the woman bowed at me.

"Cand- My Luna claims to be pregnant, I want you to verify it," I said, not wanting the public to know what was going on in our private life. Doctor Scapes seemed confused about my request. My aura was scaring her a little but she stood firm.

"Alpha, the Luna is pregnant, she came to me a few months ago to run a few tests as she was unwell and it turned out she was pregnant,"

My heart was racing in my chest at that. I could feel my brother's eyes on me but I kept my gaze on the doctor.

"How long ago was this?"

"Over ten weeks ago, I emailed her the results since I was told she traveled to her pack when I came to talk to her," She informed me. Caliana is pregnant, my Caliana is pregnant with our child. "Well, but Candace-"

"Is a diabolical liar. I didn't sense any baby in her, it was a scheme to save her life," A woman walked in, and she exuded confidence. She was a priestess sent by Ansley.

"b***h, when will she stop lying?" Hissed Garret, he was mad as I was. My heart was swelling with abhorrence for her, all I wanted was to plunge my claws into her chest and rip her heart out.

As my siblings discussed our situation, all I could think about was how Caliana is pregnant and had to endure all the pain I was putting her through. I couldn't wait any longer. I instantly left the house and ran to her pack, it wasn't too far away from here and I sensed my brothers next to me. We reached the pack within an hour, and the warriors were startled to see us but we made no move to enter their land uninvited. We came in peace and didn't want to cause disruption. They soon recognized us and bowed to us.
