Edward's

POV

"Alpha Edward, what brings you here so late at night?" The head patrol warriors asked. A few warriors now surrounded him, ready for anything.

"I'm here for my mate," I said. Jamal cleared his throat and gestured for me to stay quiet, he knew I didn't have time to converse or linger.

"Good evening gentlemen, as my brother said, we are here to see your new Alpha," My brother said. The warriors exchanged wary glances and Jamal spoke again,

"As you may know, she is my brother's mate and they had a misunderstanding as all lovers do, he just wants to speak to her, we come in peace," He explained patiently. My brother had a thing for people no wonder we worked well together, while I was irrational, he was calm. His aura made people listen and trust him. The head of the patrol nodded in understanding. His eyes darkened, showing that he was mind-linking, someone, maybe Caliana.

"I'm sorry Alphas, but we can't let you in," He said apologetically. I didn't have time for this. Before Jamal could do his thing, I was already inside their territory and they all attacked me. I didn't want to fight so I shoved them off me and ran towards Caliana's house. I knew exactly where it was, many warriors were on me, trying to stop me but my siblings did a good job holding them down and by the time I reached the mansion, it was heavily guarded, and men surrounded me, I eyed them.

"I'm not here to cause her or you any harm but if you don't let me go in, I swear you'll die because nothing will stop me from seeing my mate," I growled in warning, however, they weren't backing down. Three attacked me at once and I fought them away, making sure I didn't cause permanent damage to them. I didn't want Caliana to hate me more.

They started to attack me but I was able to fight them. The once beautiful garden was ruined. My brothers were by my side, fending off the guards. Angry, I let out the most powerful growl that made the ground beneath us vibrate and they all scattered away, their inner wolves submitting to me involuntarily. I was one of the most powerful Lycans in the world so it will make sense that their beast will listen to a higher command.

"I'm not here to harm anyone, please, allow me to go in without a fuss," I said. My voice sounded alien to my ears, they all bowed and I stepped back. I was about to push the door open when a man I knew as Caliana's best friend appeared. He glared at me, I was sure he wanted me dead.

"May we help you, Alpha Edward?" He growled, c*****g his head toward the warriors who looked guilty under his gaze.

"I'm here for Caliana,"

He scoffed, and shook his head, denying me entrance. I took a step forward and Emilia stood next to him. The last time we were introduced, she was smiling but now, she was angry at me. She looked at me with disgust and I saw tears glisten in her eyes but I didn't let their hostility bother me for too long, they should loathe me, I deserve it.

"Caliana left the pack," Emilia snarled. I misstepped back and let out a shaky breath.

"What do you mean?"

"That she left the pack, do you have trouble f*****g comprehending?" Levy growled and Marcus growled back, approaching us as he didn't appreciate how they were speaking to me. I raised my hand to stop him, Marcus could be... Savage. 'Don't, Marcus,' I said through mindlink

'They are disrespecting my Alpha,' He growled back.

'And I hurt theirs,'

Jamal stepped forward and smiled "Do you have a way to contact her? We really must speak to her, all this was a misunderstanding,"

They shared a glance and sneered," No, she didn't say where she was going and cut all contact with us," The woman spoke.

"She's your Alpha, how do you not know where she is," I growled, frustrated. Caliana was supposed to be here, I was supposed to beg for forgiveness.

"You know you're lying to a Lycan Alpha, right?" Jamal asked, his eyes glowing in warning, and he exuded his intimidating aura. The couple stepped back intimidated for only a second but soon composed themselves.

"Well, kill us then, because we don't know where she is," Levy said, determined. It was clear that they wouldn't tell us. Garret and Marcos came to confirm their words,

"Caliana is nowhere in the mansion, and I didn't catch her scent anywhere either," Marcos reports.

"Did you enter the house?" Emilia scowls. "Rude,"

I didn't know what to do and clearly, these two wouldn't talk even if they were tortured.

"Levy," I called and he looked me over, " I know you despise me right now but it was all a misunderstanding, I love Caliana and would never purposely hurt her,"

"You've been hurting her since the day she arrived in your pack," He retorted.

He folds his arms and doesn't flinch at my cold glare. I turned back but didn't reach far when he spoke again,

"You don't deserve Caliana, the best thing you can do is reject her so she starts her life anew, away from your t*****e,"

My eyes flashed red at the mention of rejection but I continued to walk, I wasn't going to let my mate go, ever. She was mine. We were walking towards the border and we heard a noise in a bush and soon, Evelyn and Vince came out, smiling at us. I scowled. They were covered in flowers.

"Alpha Edward, we heard you came and wanted to pay our respect," Evelyn said, if she wasn't my mother's dear friend I would have killed her for all she put Caliana through.

"Evelyn, how have you been?" It was Jamal who spoke. They immediately start to complain about how unwell they have been treated because Caliana couldn't give them money and assigned them to work in the field. I started to walk away from the two kvetches, bored.

"Good evening, Evil," I heard Garret say as we moved past them, it reminded me of how Caliana called her.

"We can tell you where Cali is," I turned around and walked over to him,

"Where's my mate,"

He tilts his neck to his mother and she smiles

"You see, Alpha, I've been really suffering and I'm hoping you can help us with some money... Like a trade," She said and I put her into a chokehold, her skin paling fast as she whimpered.

"Let him go, Edward," Sighed Jamal. I did that, and she stumbled toward her son. Idiots!

"Tell him what he wants to know and I will give you the money you want. I give you my word,"

An hour later, we were back at the manor, Evelyn told us that she went to one of the packs in the Northern region with an old friend of hers named Tristin.

"I'll go to the Northern region to search for her, I'm sure she's residing in one of the packs there," I informed my brothers.

"How long will you be back?" Jamal asked, worried.

"When I replace her and I will soon, I already talked to the king and Princess Arya," I told them. I needed help in replaceing my Luna.

"Marcos and I will come with you," Marcus said, solemnly.

"It's not necessary, I can track her down,"

"We'll come. We shall cover more ground that way," Marcos declared and they all agreed. Time to bring my Luna home.
