I inhaled and exhaled, running a hand through my hair.

"I think I should go," she said in a quiet voice.

"No, please. It's not safe out there with this weather," I said. The hurt look she gave me made me feel anxious in the pit of my stomach," Follow me,"

All this was weird for me. My mate was at my house. What happens now?

'So what if she's pregnant,' Koen who was stunned into silence finally spoke.

'I can't, not in her condition, C'mon,' I said.

'She's ours, Garret and I want her,' he was solemn.

I left the room as soon as I showed her how to use the bathroom, and went downstairs to prepare a hot meal for her. I don't remember how to use half of the things in the kitchen, so I Facetime Caliana to help me but like me, she's not too good in matters of the kitchen.

"Why don't you eat from here?" She asked.

"I found her," I suddenly said. She froze for a while before a smile broke on her face.

"You found your mate?"

"Yes," I confirmed. She was going to scream but didn't. Cali took in deep breaths.

"Okay, that's amazing. Congratulations, Gar," she said "What's her name?"

f**k, I didn't ask her.

"I don't know,"

"What do you mean?"

"I didn't ask her," I said.

"Alright, how did you meet?" After telling her how we met. She exhaled

"It can only be fate, of all the cars, she jumped in front of yours,"

"What should I do? Caliana, she's pregnant," I told her. Her reaction was the one I expected, she was calm and smiled.

"What does your heart tell you to do,"

"It's still in shock I think," I laughed, "She's pregnant with another man's child,"

My heart ached at that and I hated that it did. It was unfair to me. My sister-in-law sighed,

"And you feel cheated because another man had her first, and got her pregnant," she stated and I nodded,

"It's unfair for me,"

"Garret, we don't know her situation and you can't reject her because of that but for now, the question is; do you want her as your mate?"

"I think I do," I answered.

"Love unwinds, Garret, it extends beautifully to others. You will love your mate and everything that comes with her," she was smiling softly, probably thinking of her mate." Your heart will open doors to accommodate another, it's a little difficult at first because you don't even know how you feel about her yet but trust me when I say; leaving her because of this little blessing of hers will be a mistake you'll regret for the rest of your life,"

"What if I don't grow to love it?"

"You will," she was sure of her words. I nodded and bid her good night.

I decided to order hot soup from the restaurant instead of cooking. I sat on the sofa but soon stood up when I saw her descending the stairs. She looked so much better now.

She stood in front of me and I asked her to sit which she did. I took another sofa.

***t, Koen muttered.

"So, what's your name?" I asked her.

"Riley Mckanze," she said. It was a beautiful name.

"And yours?"

"I'm Garret... Garret Chasia,"

Her eyes slightly widened.

"Chasia?" Everyone knew that name because of the fierce reputation it harbored.

The doorbell sounded and I went to get it. I took the food to the kitchen and warmed the pizza and wings before placing it on the tray and taking it to her. I sat next to her this time and slowly, we both ate as we talked.

Riley was twenty-four years old. She and along with other girls were taken from her home by a group of notorious rogues, they didn't treat them well, and one of their leaders took an interest in her. He threaten her with submission and he did as he pleased with her. She managed to escape three nights ago and they have been searching for her ever since.

She was crying as she told me everything she endured and I wanted to kill the bastard who did this to her.

"I'll kill them, all of them," I declared, making a silent promise that no harm will ever come to her again.

"They are so bad," she croaked, wiping her tears.

"We'll replace them," I assured her and she nodded.

"I think you should rest now," I said, extending her hand to her, she took it and sparks erupted on our skin. She smiled beautifully and oh lord, I wanted her to keep smiling always.

"I'll sleep in another room and you can have this all to yourself," I said.

"Why can't I use the spare room since I'm the guest here?" she asked. I didn't even think about it.

"I heard mates like to inhale each other's scent once they meet and this is where my strongest scent is," I said.

"So will you need something of mine?" she peered up at me.

"No. I think I'm good," I said and she frowned." Not like that... I'm just saying," She giggled, interrupting me and my heart stopped for a moment.

"Relax, I get it," she said. We stood there for a while, should I do something? Maybe a hug? Why the f**k was I being so awkward right now? "Good night, Riley,"

"Good night, and thank you, Garret,"

"No, problem,"

I turned on my heels and left the room, breathing heavily. This was new for me. My lycan laughed at me and I blocked him out.

I went to my home office and searched for the names Riley gave me.

The rogues who abducted her were a gang and I was determined to replace them. I called my cousin, Marcus. I knew how much he loved causing rogues trouble. "Hey, brother!" he answered on the first ring.

"I need your help killing some motherfuckers,"

"Where do we meet?" he asked and a smirk crossed my lips.
