Chapter 25 The Move

Lucian had gotten all of Luna's transfer documents ready and had sentit over the school at full moon pack. Luna was due to start in twoweeks. She's had to say her goodbye to Michael and her stepmom andlet them know where she would move too. She had moved out to livewith her uncle as she not only felt betrayed by their lies but she knewthat she needed his help with all the changes that she was undergoing.She was not too happy about the move as she really didn't want to beaway from Soccorah and Luca but she had no choice. Her changes werebecoming riskier and she could not risk revealing this secret. She had todo the right or mature thing. Her uncle had explained that she neededto be with her kind as he suspected that she would soon begin tomanifest abilities.

Luna had most of her stuff packed and had started to move her stuffover to the new house provided by her pack. Her uncle said that theywere having talks to join the two packs to deal with some problemsfaced by the two packs. The added warriors were needed in case theyhad to go to war. Luna was still new to all this and had been morefocused on her grades and her friends then there were thetransformations so she had her plate full. She was practically anewborn.

She was not at all excited as she was not particularly good at makingfriends and Attica had been so easy with Soccorah and the emergenceof her skills was just icing on the cake. Now she would be at a werewolfschool in a pack and everyone would be talented. How would thiswork? Would she even stand out? Or even if she managed to stand outwould it be for the better or would it make things worse? Luna sat onthe floor in her room in deep thought contemplating her fate at thisnew school when her phone rang snapping her out of her thoughts.

It was Soccorah. She had asked her to call so she could speak with herabout her moving away as they had not seen each other since thedecision was made and Lucian had taken care of things faster thanshe'd thought possible. I guess since he knew the Alpha of the fullmoon pack and since he worked at the college the process was flawlessand quick.

Luna sighed and asked Soccorah to come over so she could break thenews to her as she didn't want to tell her something so delicate overthe phone. “I'll be right over.” Soccorah agreed as she'd always wantedto visit Luna“s house. Soccorah grabbed her jacket and raceddownstairs that she bumped into Lua. She told him that she was goingto Luna's house and was off.

Within ten minutes she arrived at Luna’s house and knocked on thedoor. She looked at the middleclass house and smiled. The houselooked so warm and cozy. She thought that coach did a great job withthe upkeep. Luna opened the door as Lucian had stepped out to runsome errands. She hugged her friend and thanked her for coming. shegave her a quick tour of her house and then brought her to her roomto talk.

When Soccorah saw that most of Luna's things were in bags she asked“Why are you all packed? Are you going on vacation during the schoolyear? Why are you packing?“Luna looked at her and came right outwith it. “I'm moving away with Uncle Lucian. Not very far, I mean wecould still talk and I can still help you with your Chemistry but I have togo to a school or be in a place that is more accommodating where I canbe free to be myself. My uncle is concerned that since I am rather newto my transformations and still learning that I can be easily controlledby the moon and he doesn’t want me to risk letting our secret outthere.” “Luna didn't you tell him that we could help you?” she asked. “Icame really close to being discovered last week during the full moonand if it hadn't been for uncle Lucian, who knows what could havehappened. Better safe than sorry. I just wanted to tell you in person. I'mreally going to miss you and Luca.”

“Where will you go? Will I ever see you again?” Soccorah asked withtears in her eyes. “Hey, no tears. No sad goodbyes. I don't like those. Idon’t Know and all I know is that it will be a werewolf school in a newpack. It's all some big secret. I'm just coming into this new world and Ireally just want to follow the rules and not single handedly destroyeverything that existed before my existence. I will call you and we cando facetime.” Luna replied hugging her friend.

The two spent the rest of the afternoon talking wile packing Soccorahleft.

Luna then left with her uncle to say goodbye to her adopted parents.The last time she saw them was a bit uneasy considering all that hadtranspired but Luna felt that she owed them something having raisedher all those years. She walked up to the house and got the chills as sheentered the house. Michael had his bags packed and appeared to beleaving. Luna asked what was going on and he hugged Luna and said“I'm glad that you got out of here and have someone to turn too, achance at a real family. Don't feel bad and if you can stay away fromthis woman. She is NOT your mother. She has no feelings. I don't eventhink that she’s human.” He walked outside and shook Lucian's handsand left with all his belongings.

“What the hell was that about mom?” Luna asked. “He's just pissed andthought that he could walk all over me. Since you left everything justwent to hell.” It had only been a year since she'd been living with heruncle and she didn’t understand how all this happened. Michael hadmoved out and all he had for her mom and wife seemed to be hatred.How the hell does this happen? Luna sat down on the chair next to thewoman who had practically kidnapped her from her family but was theonly mother she knew all her life and smiled. “I just came to tell youthat Lucian and I are moving away. Some things came up and they canonly be handled where he’s taking me.”

“And where is that?” the petit dark-haired woman asked. “Well, it's asurprise. The school will be better and I can visit anytime.” “Luna toldher. “So, I know that I kept you from your family but I'd just hoped thatyou would have cared at least a little to not completely shut me out ofyour life but it's fine. I know where your loyalties lie. Just please leaveme alone. I really hope that this new place brings you all that you hopeit will and that you're not disappointed.” She told Luna with a neutrallook in her eyes as she walked away. Luna was surprised. The womanshe thought was her mother was completely gone. She was no more.She at least expected a hug even if things were dicey between them.What in the world was going on? With this thought she did not attemptto follow her mother upstairs shut went outside to meet her uncle andthey left together and headed home.

Lydia had hoped that Luna would follow her upstairs but she didn't. shewas so angry. If Luna had come upstairs then she would have been ableto put a tracking spell on her. “The little bitch took every trace of herselfwith her and now I can't replace her. I need to follow then the old fashionway. She left me for them. I am her aunt. They just take and take andtake. My sister didn’t even tell her family about me. She didn't want meto embarrass her. All my life she took everything from me. I just wantedto have more power than her and look where it got me. I was weak.After I killed her in that accident, I should have killed that child too. ButI now see that she cast a strong protection spell that prevented me. Itseems that the child has come of age and has changed so theprotection has worn off. I will kill them and cause her soul to screamfrom the afterlife. They will all suffer.” Luna's mother was so full of rageand jealousy. She wanted to kill Luna now more than ever.
