The Lycan's Soul Mate -
Chapter 9 Long Lost Neice
Lucian walked back to his office unable to calm his mind as heremembered the extraordinary white-haired girl who'd walked into hisgym class today. She was the spitting image of his grandmother withthe same white-haired deficiency. She was great. The precision sheexhibited at climbing that rope, her blue eyes. Could she be his long-lost niece? His brother had left their pack after their Alpha waspoisoned by a Witch when he didnt return her affection and chose awolf from his pack instead of marrying her. The pack members hadthought him responsible as he was married to a Witch himself.
Lucian’s brother and his wife had fled before the alpha could cast himout as he knew whoever was responsible would later come for his wife.In order to cover their tracks, he'd cut all ties with the pack and the onlyway to do that was to stay away from his little brother Lucian. No onehad heard of him or the child after his sister-in-law had died casting avery powerful protection spell on their child. They knew that's whathappened after her body was found a few weeks after they fled with anote explaining their innocence and reason for leaving. There was notrace of His brother or the child.
Lucian was heartbroken as he'd grown quite fond of his little niece. Henever forgave the pack for not giving them the opportunity to explain. It was to replace his family that Lucian had left the pack and come to Atticato teach Gym shortly after he heard about his brother's death. When hewent to get the body, he had spoken to his brother's new woman whowas human and she was not exactly welcoming and denied the fact thatthey had a child. He remembered following her for weeks but saw noevidence of a child and eventually gave up.
After all those years of searching he was elated to have finally foundthe child. This girl was definitely his little Luna. He just had to prove it. Ifshe was and didn't know it then she wouldn't know that she may be awerewolf with Hecate's blood. She would not know what was normal tothem and what was not. He would have to keep a close eye on her andwould have to replace a way to get close to her to protect her. He stared athis computer screen as he contemplated the best approach. He didn'thave any solid proof but, in his heart, he could recognize his familyanywhere and Luna was definitely his family.
He had beaten himself up every day since they fled the pack. If only hehad gone with them, if only he'd done more to protect his family.Maybe they would have been all together. Maybe his brother andsister-in-law would not have had such terrible fates. He would have hada relationship with his niece and she would not have been a completestranger.
It had to be his little Luna. The coincidences were too many. She wouldhave been 17-years-old. She is the spitting image of his grandmother;same blue eyes and it looks like her wolf has just started to emerge. That would explain why he was able to replace her. If her mother had casta protection spell on her it would have broken when her wolf broke freeas protection spells wore off after the bearer is able to protectthemselves.
Lucian decided to observe her the following day and then he wouldvisit his brother's old house. He needed to know why that woman hadlied to him about his niece. After all she had not even been legallymarried to his brother. Lucian had been next in line to assumeguardianship of Luna had anything happened to his brother and sister-in-law. He felt like he had let them down. He needed to make this right. He needed to replace some way to help her understand and accept thechanges that she would be experiencing. He stared down at hisnotebook and the notes that he had made. Luna would definitely beexceptional especially if she had inherited her grandmother's gift whichLucian highly suspected given the white hair mutation. Luna'sgrandmother was a great white wolf. She was very powerful and noalpha wolf or Lycan could test their power. They were wolves but werebelieved to be sent by the goddess herself. They were stronger, faster, smarter and also possessed the power to manipulate the elements.Given the fact that Luna had the mutation and was the daughter of awitch: he was just so sure how much this child needed guidance thather adopted parents could not provide. Matter of fact he was sure thatif her gifts had started to manifest that they may have already startedto punish her treat her differently.
Lucian packed up his things and made his way home having made uphis mind while silently thanking the goddess for the bestowed blessingof crossing paths with his niece. He would get the proof but deep downhe knew that he was right and that the white-haired girl was his littleLuna.
She would definitely need training and an education away from thegeneral public as she knew nothing of, her species and how to controlher wolf. All of these things needed to be taught to Luna in order forher to not reveal herself to the human world. She needed a place to runfreely without the fear of being caught. She needed to learn to shiftwhenever necessary and not just during a full moon. There was somuch that she needed to learn. She needed to train to enhance herabilities not hold back her abilities for fear of being looked at as a freak.Luna needed to be among her kind and that was the bottom line. Hedidn’t care who it hurt but Luna needed to know the truth and hewould ensure that she was told if it's the last thing he did. He silentlythanked the goddess for giving him the patience to remain in Attica inspite of the fact that he knew that he was leaving everything behind. Hehad been in Attica for the past nine years. He would leave off an on tocheck in on the pack and the progress made with replaceing the witchresponsible for poisoning the Alpha and placing the blame on hissister-in-law but he was thankful that he never gave up the hope ofreplaceing his niece.
