The Unwanted Luna
Their Mate, My Saviors Chapter 28

-POV Edon-

"Ayame should be relaxed soon. I hope." I called to my brothers, who disappeared into the office with Vince and Charlie. Some of us had to get our work done, but I was not going to just leave her behind. Not when it feels like she's about to snap again. In three days Ayame's shifted so much. I guess it's not a surprise this hit as hard as I expected. "Then what?" Vil asked irritably. "I want that rogue by the throat!" He shouted back as his wolf was being held back by a thread.

"Get in line." I growled, while Ayame stared at the TV screen in a daze. This has been going on for an hour. Emily felt really bad and even tried to bribe her with her favorite dinner, beef stew and potatoes, but nothing.

"I'm going to take Emily back to the hospital then meet up with the boys in the office." Kyle said, breaking the silence.

Emily huffed. "No fair." She grumbled under her breath.

"I let you stay here for an hour, Emily. It's time to go." He warned.

I saw her cheeks redden a bit before she nodded and stood to her feet. She walked over to Ayame and I, and tapped Ayame's button nose. "Hey, I'm going to be in the hospital until tomorrow. I expect a visit." Emily said with a grin. That snapped Ayame out of her own thoughts. "Wait, you're leaving?" She asked. She was terrified.

Emily smirked. "Yeah. Mr.Grumbles over here won't let me stay a minute longer. I'll see you soon though, right? Bright and early?" She asked while Kyle gently directed her out of the door.

Ayame nodded and bashfully waved to her friend. I am thankful that she has someone else to talk to around here. Her acclimation has gone smoothly but she isn't really interested in making friends. I don't know if it is healthy for her to just be around my brothers and I all the time. She has Vince, Charlie, and Kyle, but they seem more like siblings to her than anything else. It's adorable, yes, but the isolation can't be good for her. "Alpha Edon." I tilted my head to the visiting alphas standing in the doorway to the kitchen as I heard them call my name. Great...they are still here. Two of their mates were practically drooling. I could smell their arousal from here. I might not be able to pick out emotions as well as Conri and Vilkas, but if they are right in front of me, it's like a slap in the face.

What's worse, not one of them seems to have a scratch on them. It looks like they sat back and watched while our pack was attacked. It's not like we needed the help, but it was the thought that counts. Oh, who am I kidding? They would have just gotten in the way. "Yes, Alpha Lucas?" I asked, completely uninterested. Conri and Vilkas gave me a quick run down as to why they were here and, to be honest with you, I didn't care at all. If it were me, I would have told them to figure out their own problems. Maybe that's why Conri is the one that handles politics.

"When will we have time to talk to you three? We have packs to return to as well." He glanced at my Luna as his eyes flashed black, then back to brown.

I growled at him immediately and shifted her out of his line of sight. They all have mates. Why the hell would they even be looking at her?! Why are they looking at me?! "We will talk with you tomorrow. If you haven't realized it yet, our territory was just attacked. Enjoy this chapter for free and stay updated with the latest version on J o b_n i-b.com. Don't miss out, visit it now. We have eight packs that live here and we do not have time to deal with your whining. If you want help, buzz off! I know this may be a new concept for you, but our people come first." I bellowed. With the level of disrespect falling from their mouths, they had better be lucky I don't throw them in the dungeons.

"Edon, I can hear you from the office. Calm down." Conri warned.

I cleared my throat and the men huffed before retreating to the guest rooms on the second floor. "Teresa!" Lucas called and his 'blushing' bride snapped out of her stupor and darted off after her husband. However, not before blowing me a kiss from the top of the stairs. Disgusting. I took a deep breath and let my mind swirl with chocolates and raspberries. Then I heard the clank of a spoon on a bowl. I looked down and she was chewing away as a small smile brightened her face. "Finally." I sighed in relief and tapped her cheek.

She looked up at me confused. "What?" She asked curiously.

"You're eating. I made sure it was your favorite." I nuzzled my nose into her neck and that gave me a little giggle from my princess. Little is good. Little is progress.

"It is one of my favorites. The cook here is amazing. I can't wait to help around the house someday." She added.... No. She's deflecting.

I waited patiently for her to finish her food, then I picked her up. She let the bowl drop as she scurried to grab hold of my neck. I caught the bowl in time, placing it on the coffee table. "Wh-where are we going?" She asked. "Back to our room. I'll let you sleep. We have some things we need to take care of." I said, holding back my rage. I'm not going to push her to talk about it now, but if I don't sate my spirit, he will tear apart this house. "But it's only 8pm." She huffed.

I nodded. "Well, you can read or hang out...whatever, but I know you are usually more comfortable on our floor. I think you've had enough for one day."

She hesitated, then nodded. I think I've seen her in the main living space maybe two or three times. She looked uncomfortable with all the staring. I don't blame her. Once we finally made it to the fifth floor, I let her stand on her own and her hand immediately jumped out to grab mine while she directed me to the library. The dimly lit room made her look so small as the shelves towered over her. "How is it that I pick up a book and it always replaces its way back where I found it? I could have sworn I left this in the office earlier." She mumbled, grabbing the spine of Bodi Cora: A History off of the middle shelf closest to the window. She has been reading that book since last week. I'm sure she's almost done with it at this point. Unfortunately, all it did was give her even more questions to ask. In time, Conri, Vil, and I will gladly answer them all. "We have maids. Elizabeth, remember?" I said. "They are all technically Omegas, but they aren't forced into servitude, they either volunteer or they train as look outs. Everyone has a role to play."

Ayame held the book in one hand, then guided me to our room. "Lookouts?" She asked.

I nodded. "Yes, those who guard the border. Omegas have little to no scent, so those coming into the territory won't notice them. They are like sleepers. Watch and report. If necessary, double our numbers."

She nodded as we made it to the room. "I guess that makes sense." She pushed open the door and I could hear a subtle sigh. "So, here we are." She said, looking around the room nervously.

"I want a guard posted outside my door until we get back from the dungeons." I called to Charlie.

"They will be on their way up shortly, Alpha."

"Thanks Charlie." I heard him chuckle and I focused my attention back to our little princess.

I took the time to steer her to a cushion on the loveseat. I pulled a blanket up to her neck and kissed her forehead. "I'll go look around, then I'll make sure if anything happens, the guard outside will let us know, okay?" I had a feeling she was worried about being alone right now. I'm not surprised. She now thinks rogues are after her. Who wouldn't think they needed protection after knowing that?

She nodded slowly and popped the book out from under the faded fabric. I looked around the room, thoroughly, and only then did I decide to leave. "Be safe!" She called as the door closed behind me.

Once the latch clicked in place, I huffed and let my bear rise to the surface. I shot a glare toward the men watching my room. "If anything happens to her while we are gone, you will be punished." I wasn't trying to be rude, but I was.

They nodded profusely and I waved my hand, signaling my departure. "Yes, Alpha!" They called after me once they finally got the nerve to speak.

Once I made it back downstairs, the other five were waiting. I couldn't help my concern when my eyes darted to Charlie. "I know...I know a little green behind the ears, but they will do." Charlie said with a smirk. "I also posted a perimeter, just in case."

I nodded once, then my brothers ushered towards the door. "Let's get this over with." Vil grumbled. I guess I'm not the only one who's let their spirit out to play.

-POV Conri-

Walking down to the dungeons was silent. Just how I preferred it. It was rare to see all six of us down here. I can tell when I looked at the warriors guarding the entrance. Their mouths dropped at the sight. The pure shock in their eyes was quite comical. Once they realized they were staring, they immediately bowed their heads. "Alphas." They called.

We turned to them and nodded back. "Tape." Vilkas growled. Oh shit. This guy will not be walking out of here on his own accord. That is, of course, if he even attempts to escape.

One ran to the right of the door and came back with white tape, tossing a roll to each of us. Vilkas almost crushed it in his hand. "Is there something wrong?" The young man asked.

Charlie scoffed. "The rogue I brought in here. Where is he now?" He asked.

"The auditorium, as requested, sir." The other finally chimed in.

Charlie nodded and we followed his lead. Once we got through the first floor, I noticed there weren't any prisoners here today...including Adolpha. "Where's the tramp?" I asked, finishing off with the taping of my right hand.

Charlie immediately started laughing. "She had the audacity to try and fight me. Now she is down here for not only disrespecting our Luna, but challenging a ranked member. She's on the third floor."

Vilkas scoffed. "Treason." Yes, each floor is labeled. The third is not where you want to be.

"Exactly, but more importantly...speaking of Luna.... We good Vil?" Charlie called, glancing between him and Vince.

Vince rolled his eyes. "I'm still pissed, but it looks like she forgave you. I will go along with it." He retorted.

"Go along with what?" Edon chimed in. His eyes, bright yellow. He wasn't holding back anything at this point. He wanted blood.

"This jackass wanted to reject the Luna for another girl. Some panther or something." Vince said nonchalantly.

I started to hear the screams as we made it through the third floor. "That is not what I meant. I just didn't want to put her in harms way is all." Vilkas defended, completely ignoring the prisoners' pleas. We have a lot of prisoners on a regular basis. If not for petty crimes, there are many here for threats against ranked members, mutiny, and worst of all, treason and murder. "I'm going to put you in the auditorium next." Edon growled.

"Hey! Ayame forgave him, that's enough. Let's move it along." I added sharply. The last thing I want is any of these traitors hearing us argue. They might not be able to escape, but I don't want to know if they can message others through the wolfsbane pumping through their veins. "Conri!" I heard someone shrill from the last cell. "Thank the Goddess you are here. I could have sworn you would actually let your Head Warrior treat me like this! They gave me wolfsbane, Conri!" Adolpha shouted.

I looked down at her scrambling to her feet. She was naked and covered in the blackened dirt littering the floor of her cell. Let's just say the underground tenants don't have it as nice as those on the first floor. Her bare skin was a confirmation of Charlie's claim though. This girl really did shift and try to attack him. "Guard!" I called.

Her face paled as a man appeared from the door behind us. Each level had its own guard on stand by. That additional level of security makes it almost impossible to make it up to the surface level, even if you manage to escape your own. One of Vil's ideas. "Yes, Alphas." "It seems like she needs another dose." I added, before continuing our walk to the final floor. The auditorium.

"Conri!" She shrieked again and it continued until we were finally out of ear shot.

"She really is delusional. Poor girl." Vincent said.

"She did this to herself. We have rules for a reason." Vilkas spat back. He really didn't like her.

I'm now aware why. She's still thinking that she always had a say. She knew what she was getting into with me and the fact that she became greedy wasn't something I was interested in entertaining.

"Alphas!" The reaper called as he stood in front of the solid metal door, housing our special guest. On the fourth floor, there was only one cell, furthest from the stairs and guarded by the reaper 24/7. There was no way the prisoner occupying this floor would ever replace a way out of this containment. The reaper is trained to kill on sight without question. There are five of them and they rotate shifts accordingly.

"Open the door." Edon growled through his teeth.

"Yes, sir." He called with a sickening grin before completing the proper sequence to follow Edon's command. Time to show this prisoner hell.
