The Wannabe Warrior
Chapter 129

Zane POV

I had stopped fighting Blaze, he came at me and sunk his teeth into my arm and dragged me away from the tree, and I did not fight him, I let him drag me to wherever he wanted to take me.

He shook me like a rag doll and still I did not respond. I cut him off completely, I felt no more pain, I was just there, I was away from what he was doing to my virtual body, as he tried to tear it to shreds.

I was bleeding badly and the flesh was in pieces. I know, I kinda fell asleep for a while, and I think Blaze did too, but something woke me up and it also woke up Blaze.

A warm feeling had enveloped me, making me feel safe, that nothing could hurt me. I opened my eyes and looked at Blaze, and he got angry again and rushed at me.

He tore a piece of flesh from my bare shoulder and I felt nothing, except for being sorry for Blaze. He had been with me for so long, and now he wanted to kill me and it hurt my feelings, that maybe he was too far gone now, to ever return with me to the real world again. I wondered if he would ever get over this, as he kept trying to tear me apart, but to my amazement, my flesh started to regrow back to its normal self, as if Blaze had not attacked me.

Blaze stopped what he was doing and stared at my shoulder as the wound knitted together and was healed. He spat out the chunk of flesh he had in his mouth and inspected it, and then looked at my shoulder again, c*****g his head in thought.

He came at me again and took another chunk from the same place and spat it on the ground, then moved his head to my shoulder and waited, and they whined as my shoulder renewed itself.

Blaze sat down, close to my face and sniffed me, first my shoulder and then my body, and lastly my face, he whined some more and brushed against me as if placing his scent on me, and I wondered what was going on.

Then I jumped as I heard my mate in my mind, a sweet loving voice, the one I have yearned to hold since I got stuck in the virtual place.

‘Zane, come back to me, please.’ I could tell she had been crying, if not still crying, and I felt bad for upsetting her, but I could not risk being near her yet.

Blaze could feel Madison. She must be in the room with us, and is trying to coax me back, but I was not returning till I resolved my issue with Blaze, and now I know why I was healing as I was, being with Madison, my mate, could heal me, and she must be touching me and healing my wounds as Blaze made them.

‘Buddy, our mate is trying to call us home.’ I said softly to Blaze. I did not want to break the feeling I was having, a warm, safe feeling that my Madison was giving me, letting me know that, no matter what, she was there for me.

Blaze c***s his head as he listens to me, and rubs his head on my shoulder again, where Madison had healed me.

‘Yeah, buddy, she is the one that keeps healing me, so do you worse, you have to either submit or kill me over and over again, because our mate is not going to let me die by your attacks.’ I hope he believes me; I don’t know if she could stop him from killing me but I am sure she would give it a real good try.

He laid down at my feet and put his head on his paws and whimpered, softly. I could tell he was confused and frustrated and not sure what to do now. It seemed most of his rage had gone, but for how long I don’t know.

‘Zane, do you need help to return? Talk to me please, I have to go to a meeting soon with the Elders. They are arriving in half an hour. I would really like you by my side when they arrive.’ She pleads with me.

s**t, I had forgotten they were arriving, of all the times Blaze had to try and take over, it was when she needed me the most.

‘Sweetheart, go to the meeting, I am fine, here, I am working it out with Blaze. One way or another, I will return soon. I just need a little longer.’ I said to Madison, as I watched Blaze. I am sure he knows I am talking to Madison, but he can’t hear what she is saying.

‘Would you like my Betsy to talk to Blaze?’ she asked softly, so soft I barely heard her, it was as if it was a thought rather than a genuine question.

‘Please, see if she can get through to him.’ I lay there waiting for some sign Betsy was talking to Blaze.

Blaze suddenly sits up and c***s his head, he then whimpers again and his ears drop like he is being yelled at. Blaze stares at me and I wonder what Besty is saying, because Blazer’s tail starts to wag and he lays back down with his head on his paws, and closes his eyes, his tail still wagging and he slowly drifts off to sleep, and I join him a little later as I feel like a whole weight had just been lifted off of my chest.
