The Wannabe Warrior -
Chapter 130
Madison POV
I talked with Zane and felt a little better.
Then I asked Besty to talk to Blaze, and I understood from the way, Betsy had talked to me afterwards. That she was angry with him, and if he wanted to have a chance to bond with her, he had better get his act together, because she is going to be very disappointed if he hurts Zane and does not come back to her.
He couldn’t bully his way through all of this, he had to let Zane be the boss, so they could have time together.
She told him. I had promised a day together when things settled down a bit, and he had to suck it up and wait like she did. She had asked him to never try and take over again, as it is not the way to get more time with her, he can’t be a bully because she does not like bullies, she has seen too many of them to want a mate who is one.
I felt Zane relax in my arms, so I presumed he was now asleep, so I got off his bed and headed for the door. I tracked down the doctor, and hoped while I looked for him that the b***h of a nurse would not cross my path, because I was ready to take more of her b***d.
Lucky for that nurse, she was nowhere in sight, and another nicer nurse led me to the doctor’s station, where he was eating his lunch and drinking coffee while doing paperwork.
‘Doctor?’ the nurse called. He lifted his head and saw me. He smiled and went to stand up.
‘Stay seated, doctor, and keep having your lunch. I just wanted to let you know that I have to go to a meeting now.’ He had sat back down, but not yet continued eating.
‘Any change?’ he asked hopefully.
‘I have spoken to him and my wolf has spoken to Blaze. When I left, I felt they were both sleeping now.’
‘That is good news, thank you so much for that.’ he genuinely sounded thankful.
‘I get the impression he will return very shortly; I think they are both exhausted.’ I just hoped that the information I was giving was correct, and not my fanciful imagination, hoping he was asleep.
‘I will put a nurse by his side for a while.’ He said.
I nodded and left the hospital, rushing up to the meeting room, as most of the Elders were already there.
Entering the room, I saw some of the Elders. They had sandwiches before them. I grab some food and a coffee and sit near where Ezekiel will sit when he gets there.
They are talking about things that don’t interest me, and I start to eat.
Dad walks in along with Alpha Daniel and Ezekiel. They took their seats and a staff member gave them both a plate of food and coffee.
The room eats and quietly chats, as we wait for two more Elders to arrive. Once they walk in, the door gets closed and Ezekiel gets the rooms’ attention.
‘Today I have some bad news to give out, and for that I apologise beforehand. If it upsets the lunch, you all have just eaten.’
This gets the table laughing at first as they wait for the news. I was dreading what was about to be given.
‘We have discovered that three Elders are part of the traitor’s group and if what we have found out is true, they are the ones that started all of this many years ago. Two are still alive and causing us havoc.’ Ezekiel states clearly.
I stood up and started placing a folder in front of each Elder. I had made these before I went to the Deep Earth pack and would have told Ezekiel where I had put them if I did not need to come to this meeting.
When everyone on the table had a folder, Ezekiel started again.
‘As you can see from these emails, these two Elders have been corresponding with the few packs we know of so far, and we do not know if they had bribed, blackmailed, or if the other packs just joined the group for whatever personal reason they have against the royal pack.’ Ezekiel waited for the Elders to digest the information before them, knowing this would be just a big a shock to them as it was to us when I found the emails.
‘What is the plan?’ one of the Elders asked as he looked up from the folder.
‘That is what we are here for. I do not know if any of you are with these two or not, but I have taken my chances and gone on my gut feeling, that you are all my trusted friends and would love to hear your thoughts on this matter.’
Ezekiel sat down, signalling that the meeting was open for anyone to talk.
‘They are not affiliated with any known pack, if I remember rightly, MacMasters was from a merging pack, so he was left out in the cold and was offered a place as an Elder in sympathy, while Emery, he was part of the Dark River pack and transferred to another pack before they kicked him out, when a new Alpha took over and did not appreciate his interference with the way they wanted to run the pack, and he also gained a place with the Elders in sympathy, so really neither have a family pack behind them.’
‘Neither of them was what we consider a true Elder and should never have been given a place of respect.’
‘This list here in the folder, what is that?’
‘The list of names that have been found on each of the following computers; the advisor, Samuel, Frederick, Higgin and Ben, and the Dark River pack and his beta. It ties them together. We have yet to try and get information from the Elder’s computers, as we have not had time to look into it, we have had a lot to deal with in a short time frame.’ I am sure if we c***k open their computers, we will have even more damning information.’ Dad says to the table and they nod in agreement.
‘So, gentle men, what do you think we should do with these two Elders?’
‘Don’t call them Elders, that is an insult to the rest of us sitting at this table.’
‘We need to behead them, no questions asked, just get rid of them and burn their bodies with the rest of the traitors we have found so far.’ And with that comment I felt my hackles go up and that Elder just became on my investigation list.
‘Sounds unanimous, we shall invite them here for a meeting and deal with them, before they get to know what is going on.’
