The Wannabe Warrior
Chapter 131

Madison POV

The moment the meeting was over, I went to my little room and hacked into that Elders computer and found what I had expected to replace. I printed out some of the information and before heading to Ezekiel’s office, I checked to see where he was in the packhouse. I found him on his phone, so I listened in and found he was talking to Emery advising him of our plans.

I left and went to Ezekiel’s office and, entering, I found dad, and Ryan and Mitch in there, seated around his desk in conference.

Locking the door, I nodded to the inner room and they all followed me with no questions asked.

I opened up the recording I had of the Elders phone call and played it in the room.

No one spoke for a while and then Ryan asked the question.

‘How did you know?’ He looked at me with so much respect, I did not think I deserved it.

‘In the meeting he said, “behead them with no questions asked”, why would you not want questions asked? So, I hacked his computer, and look here.’ I put up on the screen what I had found.

Dad whistled and Mitch swore.

‘When will all this deceit end? I have done nothing to any of these people. I have opened our home and offered a hand in friendship, and all they can do is stab me in the back.’ Ezekiel looked broken and sad, he must be close to giving up on people and the throne, which would be a shame, as he does a great job, and it is not his fault how others feel.

‘Dad, don’t give up.’ I said, and my real dad looked up at me and realised I had spoken to Ezekiel, he gave a soft smile in acceptance that he was my father-in-law and deserved that title too.

‘Never, but what shall we do? He has tipped our hands.’ He was out of answers.

I stood up and offered him a dart. He took it and frowned.

‘Go grab that person and put him in the cells, we can have some fun with him. Stop him giving any more information and let’s fill him up with true juice. And keep asking him questions. Do we know where the other two elders are and, if so, who is the nearest pack that can grab them and put them in the cells?’ I asked, excited to get something done about these men. I am so over all this traitor crap, I want it sorted so I can fix my mate and his wolf.

‘Come, let’s go replace him and put him to sleep.’

Ezekiel said, and all of us left the inner office, closed it off and left his main office. We headed to the dining hall first and found that traitor sitting with the other Elder talking about what they should do about the traitors.

Ezekiel walked up behind the group.

‘Hi, everyone, you staying for the night or heading out?’ Mitch asked.

‘I am heading out, got lots to do, said our little traitor, with a smile.

‘Oh, okay,’ Ezekiel held out his hand to shake his hand, have a safe trip home.

Russel stood up and stretched out his hand, as he took Ezekiel’s hand, he fell on the floor out cold.

Dad bent down and picked the man from the floor and threw him over his shoulder as if he weighed nothing and looked at Ezekiel.

‘Dungeons.’ Mitch said.

Dad turned and left the room, leaving those at the table with their mouths gaping open in shock.

‘So, gentle men, any more of you want to join Russel in the cells?’ Ryan asked at the table.

‘What? No, why would I want to go there?’ one shaken Elder asked.

‘Russel, left our meeting and phoned Emery, advising him of our plans and that we knew they were traitors, though he did not call them traitors.’ Dad said calmly, watching the men’s faces as he spoke.

‘Well, I am damned, I have no idea he fooled me.’ Another Elder said sadly.

‘He fooled us all.’ Another said.

‘How did you replace out; did you bug us all?’ another asked, feeling he was being tested.

‘At the meeting he said to “take them and behead them and don’t ask questions”, would you not want to ask a question or two?’ Mitch asked.

‘Yeah, I would, that did sound an odd thing to say.’

‘That simple sentence had us look at his records and then when we checked our cameras to replace where he was, we found him on his phone, so we listened to him and found out he needed a cell.’

‘Wow, you guys are good.’ The youngest Elder said.

‘I wish that was true, it makes it hard for us to trust easily, it has been shattering to replace so many I thought I trusted to be stabbing me in the back.’ Ezekiel said sadly and the table looked at him with sympathy and understood.

‘Russel will sleep for a few hours, then we shall ask him a few questions, and depend on those answers as to how he will die. Any of you wish to join us in the torture room?’ Ryan asked the room in general.

‘I think I will take a pass on that, though I will stay the night if the offer is still on.’

‘Yep, my door is open. Now do you have any ideas on how we will treat this little change in our plans? Do we go raiding or wait and see what they do? Does anyone know where they are at the moment?’ Ezekiel asked thoughtfully.

‘Russel was saying something about heading towards the Dark River pack, they were all going to meet up there. They are the closest pack to us here.’

‘Will see if Gerome can locate them before we go to the Dark River pack. We were going to head there soon anyway. We might have to go sooner than planned. Okay folks, we have dinner in an hour. How about we replaceing you all some rooms for the night and then you can either stay here and join me with Russel tomorrow, or head back to your homes, or maybe you have other plans. Just stay safe and careful. Remember if this can happen to me, it can happen to you, so watch your backs.’ Ezekiel said and called warrior Peter over to allocate them some rooms and show them where they are.
