The Wannabe Warrior
Chapter 132

Zane POV

I woke up to replace I was still in the virtual world and Blaze was asleep at my feet.

He looked so peaceful there, you would not know he had been trying to rip my throat out the last few days, or was it longer, or less. Time has no value here, no night or day, you are just here, perpetual sunshine and calm.

I stood up and stretched my aching back, and my arse was a little painful too, from sitting on the hard ground. I had slept sitting up, amazing. How I did not topple over must have something to do with where I am, and I wondered if my back and arse really ached or was it because I imagined it would because I slept in a funny position.

This virtual world does not act like the real world, even if it does seem to have similarities.

While I was stretching, I saw a white image near what looked to be a stream. Feeling the need to quench my thirst, I headed over to the stream and the blurry white image.

The image was of a woman, though I could not identify her. She hovered just off the ground, and was watching me as I approached.

‘Morning Zane, come drink and slacken your thirst.’ Her voice was melodious and beautiful, as if many voices sung the words to me.

Dropping to the floor, I put my hands into cups and drank my fill, and stood back up looking at her, but still could not focus on her face, she was bright and beautiful and felt I wanted to just look at her and listen to her voice all day.

‘Madison is a special girl. I have given her many gifts, and one of those gifts will aid in your personal fight with your wolf. Let her heal you and your wolf, don’t smother her or restrict her, she needs to be free, so she can blossom into the woman she is destined to be. Don’t try and bind her to you, or she will not grow as she should.’ After she had finished talking, she raised her hand and I felt an energy go through me and I wanted to stand and enjoy the warmth this lovely lady was giving me and for it to never stop.

The image then seemed to just blow away with the gentle breeze, it was so ethereal.

Blaze had woken up, and approached the stream and drank like he had not drunk in a while and I understood that thirst, having just quenched mine, I waited for him to finish before I spoke.

‘Blaze, are you ready to return and see our mate? Or do you want to fight some more?’ I asked softly and gently, I really did not want to keep fighting.

He looked at me and then, in the direction the image had melted away and then back at me, he did not growl or even talk to me, he just suddenly took off across the field and out of sight.

I sighed and wondered what that was about and why he had run off, without a word. Now will he come back or has he gone for good? I guess I just have to wait it out.

The warm feeling of my mate filled me with happiness.

‘Sweetheart, you ready to come home now?’ Madison asked.

I opened my eyes and looked at my mate. She was lying on the bed with me, running her hand across my chest and playing with my chest hair there.

‘Yes,’ I whispered to her.

She lifted her head up suddenly at my whispered voice and pressed her lips to mine, soft slow k****s and I grabbed her to me and took over the k**s, deepening it till I heard her m**n with pleasure.

Breaking away, she looked into my eyes questioningly, but never voiced the question I could see in her eyes.

‘He ran off. I don’t know what that means, so I will consider myself at the moment wolfless.’

She nodded and snuggled in closer.

My stomach rumbled and she giggled, the most beautiful sound I have ever heard.

‘Come, it is dinner time, come eat with us.’ Madison encouraged.

I climbed out of bed and went to the shower, had a quick wash and dressed in the jeans and shirt Madison had gone and got for me while I was in the shower.

We walked out hand in hand and the doctor greeted us.

‘Be sure to come by tomorrow and let me look you over.’ The doctor said as we walked down the hallway.

I waved my hand over my head in acknowledgement that I had heard and headed to the dining hall, my stomach growling loudly with need.

We entered the dining hall, only to be tackled by my dad as he grabbed hold of me and swooped me around like a young child, and I am not exactly a small man. I chuckled at his enjoyment of my waking up and I got pats on the back from the other men at the table. Addison and Lucy came and gave me a hug and Ceclia wished me good fortune.

We sat at the table and I greeted the Elders, who had no idea what had happened to me and I was okay not telling them. I was not yet ready to share my story with anyone, until I figured it all out myself.
