Alissa Soleil's POV

"So you're human in the morning and a wolf at night?" Bry said.

I nodded as i took a sip of my orange juice.

"Yes, something like that" I said.

"But I still have some of my wolf abilities during the morning like heightened senses and strengths but I can never shift into my wolf form or connect with my wolf during the day" I explained. "Oh so that's why you smell human and not wolf right now" he realized and I nodded.

"You're also a doctor" he added and I nodded.

"Yes, I'm a General Surgeon in W Medical" I said.

Bryan nodded as they all tried to progress everything I said to them about my life now as Soleil Ellis.

"Legally speaking, you've become Alissa Soleil Ellis?" Axel asked and I nodded.

They all nodded in understanding.

"And no one knows you're true identity? I mean, you being a wolf?" Bry asked.

I shook my head.

"There are 2 people who know. Ma and Calum" I said.

"Oh yes, that Calum guy" mom said.

"He's a doctor as well, right?" Bry asked and I nodded.

"Yes. He's also a General Surgeon but he has more experience than me. We're also the same age" I explained and they nodded.

"He's not your human boyfriend, is he?" Bry asked with a raised brow.

I chuckled.

"No" I said.

"Calum is a really close friend. We're not in a romantic relationship" I said.

Bryan sighed in relief.

Then, mom looked at the clock.

"It's already pass lunch time. Shall we have lunch together?" mom asked with a hopeful smile and I nodded.

"I'd love that" I said. Always visit Narugi.com for more novels and updates.

Mom smiled as she stood up and gave me a kiss on the top of my head. "I'll go ahead and make your favorite" she said and went to the kitchen. Axel stood up as well.

"I'll help" he said and I nodded as they went to the kitchen together.

Bryan and I were left together in the living room.

"Ali" he said and I looked at him.

"What is it?" I asked softly.

"Now, that you told us what happened to you, I wanted to tell you something that happened to me as well while you were gone" he said.

I nodded and listened to him attentively.

"I left the Palace as well a while back" he said and I looked at him curiously.

"I didn't run away but I did leave for a while. Maybe a year?" he said.

"And where did you go?" I asked with slightly furrowed brows.

Bry looked at me.

"I tried to look for you" he said.

My heart ached once more.

"Fortunately for me, I didn't really live like a rogue" he said.

"From time to time, packs would take me in for the day or the night to feed me and give me a place to sleep" he said.

"It was thanks to Luke. He made sure I was safe out there" he explained.

I bit the inside of my lower lip.

"There was a time in my life that I blamed Luke. I blamed him your absence and I hated him for a while but then I saw how hurt he was too that you were gone" he said. I pursed my lips.

"After a year of searching for you, I came back with nothing and I just focused on my training and eventually got my position now" he said.

I smiled sadly.

He's been through a lot.

They've been through a lot because of me.

I sighed.

What have I done?

I laid my head on Bryan's shoulder.

"I've been such a jerk for leaving like that and making everyone miserable" I muttered quietly.

"You were hurt. That's not your fault" Bry muttered back.

I sighed.

We stayed like that for a while until we were called to the dining table for lunch.

We ate lunch together and it was one of the happiest thing to happen in my life.

I never knew I'd miss these moments with my family so much.

After we ate lunch, we just caught up with each other.

I mean, it's been 13 years after all.

We talked about a lot of things.

I was so happy to be able to be with them after so long.

It was already late in the afternoon when I looked out the window and then the clock.

"Uhm, do you guys mind if I excuse myself for now. I think I need to do something before dinner" I said.

"Do what?" Bry asked curiously.

"I need to talk to Luke" I said.

They were quiet then my mom nodded.

"Go ahead. We'll wait for you to come back here" she said.

I smiled and stood up and gave her a hug and a kiss then I also gave Axel a hug and then kissed Bry goodbye on the cheek.

"I'll be back when I can" I said and they nodded as I went out.

I made my way to the Palace again and encountered more wolves on the way who gave me curious looks.

I reached the Palace and entered then saw a helper.

"Where's Luke right now?" I asked.

She was even a bit surprised to see me.

"Oh. His highness is in his office, miss" she said and I nodded.

"Okay, thank you" I sais and made my way to his office.

"Don't you need someone to take you there, miss?" she asked me.

I shook my head.

"No, thank you. I know the way" I said.

Then, I walked to Luke's office.

I arrived at the front door of his office and I took a deep breath before placing my hand by the door door to knock but even before I could, I heard someone else inside. "Pa, why am I not allowed to go with the other warriors for the mission?"

My brows furrowed a little.

"It's too dangerous, Archie. I trust you, I do. But it's only been more than a year since you started shifting. I'm not letting you go in such a risky mission" I heard Luke say. "But I've trained so much in that short amount of time. I can handle myself"

"Maybe. But I'm not willing to risk it. You're my son and it's my duty to protect you" Luke said.

I suddenly felt like I was struck in my heart as I stepped back.

"Okay. I understand"

"Maybe next time, Archie. Just not now" Luke said.

I bit my lower lip and suddenly the door to Luke's office opened.

I met eyes with a boy.

Green eyes and black hair just like Luke's.

"Alissa"

I looked at Luke as he looked back at me with a surprised expression.

I looked at him with a blank expression.

Of course.

Why didn't it slip my mind that there was a possibility that he has his son with him here in the Palace.

After all, he's his.

Still, I felt so betrayed by it.

"Let's talk" I said.

His expression immediately changed and he gulped.

"Okay" he said.

"Archie, let's talk more some other time" he said to the boy.

I glanced at the boy once more then turned my back on them and walked away.

"Follow me" I said.

Luke did as he was told and we both went through the hallway and made our way out to the balcony.

I clenched on my fists trying to keep the unnecessary feelings to myself.

I looked at the sky as the sun set.

Then, I glanced at the time.

"Are we going to talk here?" Luke asked.

I shook my head.

"No" I simply answered as I stared at the sky again.

The sun set so beautifully today and as soon as it was set enough, I climbed on top of the baluster.

"Alissa!" Luke scolded as he tried to hold me so I wouldn't fall but I avoided him.

Then, I looked at the sky and then at my watch.

I glanced at Luke who gave me a worried look.

"Follow me" I said and then I jumped off the the balcony.

"Alissa!" Luke shouted.

I shifted midway and I landed on my paws with a huff.

I looked up at Luke as he looked down at me with pure disbelief.

I motioned my head to the woods and then made a run for it.

I ran through the woods and Luke followed after he had shifted into his own wolf.

We ran through the woods together and I led the way.

It's been 13 years but I was still so familiar to the territory.

After some time, we reached a meadow and I sniffed around the bushes for some clothes and sure enough, I found some.

Luke also did the same.

I shifted back to my human form and then got dressed in the oversized hoodie and very baggy sweatpants.

I tied the pants securely then, I walked to the middle of the meadow.

Luke followed after he got dressed with the clothes he found.

We both went to the the middle of the meadow and I looked up at the moon.

"Why here?" Luke asked.

"Just because" I said.

Then, I looked at Luke.

"How old is he?" I asked curiously.

"Your son" I added.

Luke just looked at me for a moment.

"14" he answered.

I nodded my head.

"He does resemble you" I said as I bit the inside of my lower lip.

Luke didn't respond to that.

"And his mom?" I asked not looking at him.

"Alissa..." Luke said and I looked at him as he walked closer to me but I stepped back.

"Don't" I said.

Luke looked at me with a pained expression.

"How long has he been staying with you?" I asked.

Luke gulped.

"13 years" he said.

I bit my lower then I scoffed as I looked down.

"Okay" I said.

It felt like my heart was being pricked by millions of needles.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

"You could've atleast given me a heads-up that your son was here" I told him.

"I didn't think it mattered" he said.

I scoffed in disbelief.

"Oh wow" I said.

Then, I looked at him with a frown.

"You know what? Fck you" I said and walked away.

I could already feel the angry tears that I was about to shed.

"Alissa, let me explain first" he said.

"No. I don't want to talk to you anymore, you fcking a-" I was going to cuss him out.

"Archie isn't biologically mine!"

I stopped.

My brows furrowed as I turned around to look at Luke.

Luke sighed.

"My ex and I never had a child together" he said.

My brows furrowed even more as I looked at him confused.

What did he mean by that?

"I was a victim of her lie. Archie was too and you are too. We all are" he said.

"What do you mean?" I said.

Luke took a step closer.

"My ex kidnapped Archie after her mate died. She killed his father with the same group of rogues who helped her hurt you" he said.

"She purposely chose a pup that would resemble me so he'd pass as my kid. Then, she used him to manipulate me in seeing her. In ruining our relationship. Archie was never her child. She used him as a tool to get to me. To get to us" he explained. A tear fell from my eye as I stepped back.

"She wanted to take your place. She wanted power. She wanted title" he added.

"I regret getting involved with her. I regret believing her. I should've known better but I wouldn't have known she'd be capable of something as crazy as that. I'm a victim too, Alissa" he said.

I couldn't breathe.

"I never wanted any of it to happen. I never wanted to lose our baby. I was clueless. Please believe me" he begged.

I fell to my knees and Luke immediately rushed to me.

She lied to all of us.

All because of greed and obsession.

Luke was a victim.

Archie too.

Me.

And Reeva.

We were all victims of her lies.

I broke down into tears and I scream cried.

Luke held me close to him.

I hurt everyone because of what happened.

I left because I felt like I was betrayed.

All this time, the truth she made me believe was nothing but a lie.

I cried and cried.

I felt like my heart was being ripped out of my chest.

I lived so miserably hating Luke for getting involved with her but it turns out that she manipulated him.

She manipulated us.

We were all victims and I made it worse for everyone when I left.

After 13 years, I finally get to know the real truth.

I kept crying and Luke just held me and I held onto him.

I felt so guilty.

So helpless.

It took 13 years.

13 long years.

And finally I got to know the truth.

My heart ached so much but there was a sense of relief.

I looked up at Luke as I sobbed.

"I'm sorry" I muttered as a tear streamed down my face. Then, I saw black.
