Alissa's POV

I stood outside the big bedroom doors as I took a deep breath.

Then I placed my hand by the door and knocked before I held the door handle and pushed it open.

I peaked my head inside.

"Luke?" I called.

I looked around the room.

"Luke?" I called again.

I walked over to his bedside table and saw his phone there.

I kept looking around and even searched in the bathroom and the walk in closet for him.

He was nowhere to be found.

It's the last day before the wedding and Luke and I have yet to talk.

I rarely see him and he doesn't even bother to see me.

It's absurd how it feels like I'm the one chasing him now when he was the one who forced and dragged me here. Luke wasn't in his room.

I sighed.

Where could he be this time?

I've asked Lia and Lucas and they said that Luke had no schedules for the day.

So where could he have gone this early in the morning?

Was he in the training hall?

I huffed and walked out of the room to head to the training hall.

I needed to talk to Luke.

I made my way downstairs so I could go to the training hall.

Hopefully, Luke will be there.

"Where are you off to?" Lucas saw me.

"Oh hey" I greeted him.

"Hey" he greeted back.

"Where are you going?" he asked curiously.

"I'm looking for Luke. Maybe you know where he is?" I asked hopeful.

Lucas shook his head.

"I'm sorry. I haven't heard from him since last night. I haven't seen him this morning" he said.

I sighed disappointed.

I still wanted to see if he was in the training hall. Maybe he went there really early.

"Is everything okay?" Lucas asked.

I bit my lower lip.

"I haven't really spoken to Luke since I started my training and all. I get that he's busy and I'm pretty busy myself but tomorrow is..." I paused and sighed. "Tomorrow is a grand day and I feel we should talk about it before it happens, you know" I said.

Lucas nodded.

"Do you want me to help you replace Luke?" he asked.

I nodded with pursed lips.

"Can you please? I really feel the need to talk to him" I said.

Lucas nodded.

"Let's go nad replace him so you guys can talk" he said.

We both headed downstairs and out of the palace.

Lucas and I split directions.

I went to the training hall while Lucas went to go ask the on duty guards on the guard house to see if they knew where his brother was.

I arrived at the training hall and looked around.

Is he here?

I kept looking around trying to replace Luke's familiar physique but he wasn't anywhere in the training hall.

Where else could he be?

"Looking for someone?"

I turned around to see uncle Rainer.

"uncle Rainer" I said.

"Hi, kid" he said and slightly ruffled ny hair.

"Hi" I greeted back.

"So, what brings you here? I've been told that you're going to be doing your royalty training for some time" he said.

Oh yeah I am but I uh I'm looking for Luke? I need to talk to him and he isn't reaein his office or in the palace at all" I said. Uncle Rainer raised a brow.

"He didn't tell you anything about where he'd be leaving off to?" he said.

My brows furrowed a little.

"He left? Did he say where he was going to?" I asked.

"I saw him early in the morning. Way before the sun rose. He said he had to do something and left" uncle Rainer said.

"Oh" I reacted.

"He really didn't mention anything to you?" he asked.

I shook my head.

"Hm. Hopefully, I didn't spoil any surprises" he said with a shrug.

A surprise?

I doubt it.

"Anyway, don't worry about him, kid. Luke is more than capable handling himself. As for talking to him, might have to wait, I think" he said and gave me a pat on the back. I sighed in disappointment.

"Did he atleast tell you when he'd be back?" I asked curiously.

Uncle Rainer shook his head.

"No but maybe he'll be back later in the afternoon or at night. After all, tomorrow is the big day.

Right.

So there's a big chance that I won't be able to talk to him today and it's not like I'll be allowed to see him tomorrow before the wedding proper.

Well, this sucks.

"Ali" Lucas came.

He turned and looked at uncle Rainer and gave him a small smile and nod.

Uncle Rainer gave Lucas a pat on the back before walking away and going back to training.

"The guards couldn't really tell me anything about Luke's whereabouts. Any luck?" he asked.

I bit my lower lip.

"It turns out that he left really early in the morning. Uncle Rainer said he saw him but he didn't say where he'd be going or when he'd be back" I said. Lucas' brows furrowed.

"Why would he leave on a spontaneous trip out of the territory without telling anyone and most importantly, a day before his wedding" he said. I shrugged.

"I don't know" I said.

Lucas sighed.

"You know what? Maybe it's nothing. We should just head back and wait till he comes back" he said.

"Do you think we'd even be able to talk today?" I asked his opinion.

Lucas paused.

"I really don't know. Luke isn't really...too easy to read" he said.

I sighed and Lucas gave me a pat on the back.

"Come on. Let's have a snack before your training starts" he said enthusiastically as he pulled me out of the training hall with him.

I know Lucas was trying to distract me from over thinking and all so I just agreed and set it aside for now.

I really hope everything's okay.

Lucas basically dragged me back to the palace and we went to the kitchen.

In the kitchen, we saw, Lia and aunt Livi.

"Hi, mom" Lucas immediately greeted his mom.

"Hi, sweetheart" aunt Livi said as Lucad gave her a kiss on the cheek.

"Good morning" he said.

Aunt Livi smiled.

"Good morning" she greeted Lucas back then looked at me.

"Good morning to you too, dear" she said.

"Good morning, aunt Livi" I greeted her with a smile as I sat beside Liana.

Lia and I nudged each other playfully to acknowledge each other's presence.

"Where did you guys come from?" Lia asked curiously.

"Oh we just went to the training halls" I said.

"You trained?" Lia asked.

I shook my head.

"No I was just trying to replace someone" I said.

"Who?" she asked.

Lucas and I glanced at each other.

"Luke" I said.

"Did you replace him?" aunt Livi asked.

I bit my lower lip and shook my head.

"Oh. Did you try looking for him somewhere else?" aunt Livi asked further.

I nodded.

"Luke isn't in the palace territory. Uncle Rainer said that he saw him leave" Lucas explained.

Aunt Livi's brows slightly furrowed.

"For what?" she asked.

Lucas shrugged.

"Well" aunt Livi said.

"Please excuse me, kids" she said and gave us a smile before leaving.

Uh-oh.

I looked at Lucas and he just shrugged at me.

We were served sandwiches and ate them together before Lia and I had to excuse ourselves for my last day of basic royalty training.

Lia clung onto my arm.

"You seem a bit anxious" she pointed out.

"Me?" I said.

Lia nodded.

Was it that obvious?

"Oh it's just that I haven't really talked with Luke since I started my royalty training" I told her.

"Hmm. That is a bit weird but then again, you guys might just be too busy" she said.

I nodded.

That might just be it.

Hopefully, that's just it.

Lia and I reached the ballroom where the training usually takes place.

"Don't over think too much. You'll get stressed out over nothing" she told me.

I nodded and took a deep breath.

Lia and I waited for aunt Livi.

"Hello, ladies" Lia's grandmother came instead.

"I'll be your teacher again for today because my daughter is busy at the moment" she said looking at me.

I nodded in understanding.

I wouldn't mind mrs. Alaric teaching me again.

Yesterday was very fun and fruitful and it's a pleasure to be taught by her although it's a pity that aunt Livi won't be around.

"Shall we start?" mrs. Alaric said.

I nodded and we started our lessons.

On the first day, I was taught how to walk, talk, dress and act like royalty.

On the second day which was yesterday, I was briefed about my basic responsibilities as Queen and taught how I should handle different situations.

Today, I'm going to learn about something else.

The reality of royalty.

"Now, I'm sure that you've had your fair share of seeing how my grandkids are on a daily basis" mrs. Alaric said.

"And I'm pretty sure that you see them more as themselves than them as royalty. Other wolves only know so much about us and what we actually deal with other than them" she added.

That's true.

I rarely get the chance to see the Alaric-Grey siblings when they're in their royalty mode.

"Now, royalty isn't always so perfect" mrs. Alaric started.

"We all have our flaws as well but we don't showcase those flaws to everyone for a variety of reasons" she continued.

"We don't always live our life lavishly" she said.

"We aren't always in total control of the situation but we always try to do the best that we can. That's our reality as royals" she lectured.

"You'll be married to royalty and you'll eventually give birth to royalty as well. That's your reality Alissa" she said looking straight into my eyes.

I got nervous when she talked about giving birth.

I forgot to even think of that.

Of course I'd have to provide an heir eventually.

"You've been with royalty since you were young so that's kind of an advantage for you and you're also an incredible young lady so if I'm being honest, I really don't think I have anything else to worry about with you" she said.

"I personally think that you're capable of being royalty, dear. I see potential in you. So much of it" she said.

Mrs. Alaric continued on by talking about the 'realities of being royalty'.

I listened quietly but in my head, tgere was only one thing that I was thinking about.

It was producing an heir.

I was so busy with either training, arguing with Luke or spending time with my loved ones that I forgot about that one important detail.

I have to produce the next heir to the throne.

Me.

I have to provide a child for the royal family. A child with Luke.

I felt like having a panic attack.

I'm 20.

I can't give birth ti a child just yet.

Atleast I don't want to. Not yet.

Sure, I can take care of a pup just fine but my own pup?

No. I can't.

I'm not ready for that responsibility.

I don't know when I'll be ready but surely not soon.

Halfway through the lesson, I had to excuse myself ti the bathroom because I was already feeling sick to my stomach as I thought about it.

This information made me feel so anxious.

I went to the bathroom and sat on the toilet bowl as I hugged myself.

Once I get married to Luke tomorrow, I'd have to mate with him.

Two things could either happen after that.

Either, I get pregnant the first night we do it.

Or I could not get pregnant immediately.

I flushed red at the thought of mating with Luke after the wedding.

I felt like hyperventilating.

I obviously did not think this through.

I only went as far as the wedding and coronation abd not the actually mating process.

Oh I'm so doomed.
