Alissa's POV

I looked at myself in the mirror. I was wearing a white criss cross tie back surplice cami dress paired with white chunky heeled sandals. There was a knock on the door.

"I'll get it" Lia said and went to open the door.

It was the makeup team.

They went inside and Lia pulled me by the bed.

"The bride always has to look fresh and gorgeous even in the reception" Lia said.

"Agreed" the team said and everyone chuckled including me.

I had already washed my face earlier before I changed so they were able to start putting a fresh look on my face.

"Congratulations, lady Alissa. Or should I say future Queen" the makeup artist said.

I forced a small smile but didn't really answer.

After some time, they finished with my hair and makeup and they also did Lia's makeup again.

After that, we thanked them and prepared ourselves to go down.

"Are you feeling okay?" Lia asked me.

I nodded.

"I feel fine" I said.

"My pack is downstairs. I'd love to meet them after so long" I told her.

Lia nodded.

"Then, let's meet them" she said and held my arm as we went out of my room.

Atleast this wedding gave me one thing to look forward to.

Liana and I made our way downstairs.

We went through a different hallway and when I realized where we were, I tried to pull away from Lia.

"I'm not entering the ballroom from there" I said flushing red.

Lia chuckled.

"What? Today is your day. Make the best out of it" she said and continued to pull me.

There were different entries to the ballroom. One being the doors and the other being the staircase.

In short, Liana wants me to take the staircase.

"Lia" I said.

“Come on, girl. You look gorgeous. Flaunt it" she said.

I sighed in defeat as I agreed.

Lia took the staircase first. She said she wanted me to have a moment.

I contemplated on going down but figured Lia would be very upset eif I didn't so I just s**k it in and made my way downstairs.

As soon as I made my first step, everyone looked at my direction.

I was nervous and anxious as I made my way down. My heart was thumping inside my chest uncontrollably.

Everyone stared at me as I went down and when I reached the ballroom floor, everyone smiled and greeted at me.

"Beautiful. Let's go" Lia said and clung to my arm.

"Your pack member are in the middle. They have a special spot, of course" Lia said and we made our way to the center.

Atleast I get to see my pack members because of this wedding.

After a long of smiles, greetings and occasional small talk, we reached the center and my pack members turned to look in my direction. "Alissa, dear" the Luna immediately said as she came to me with open arms and hugged me.

I hugged her back.

Ghad. I missed her. I missed them.

"Alissa" the Alpha spoke.

The Luna let me go and I turned to look at the Alpha.

He gave me a small smile as he reached for my hand and held it. Then, he lightly pulled me to him and hugged me.

I smiled as I hugged him back.

After that, I greeted all the pack members present and gave them hugs.

My students were also there and they all gave me hugs so I had to crouch down for a long time as they cried happy tears for being able to see me again.

Then, they were only able to calm down when I offered to get them sweets so we did.

I made them all hold hands and we made our way to the food table where there was a sweets section.

I assisted them and Denisse came and helped me.

After that, we went back to our table and the kids ate their sweets happily.

Then, Griffin came beside me and slightly nudged me to get my attention.

"Hey" I greeted him.

"Hey" he greeted me back as we both watched the kids eat.

"How's your life here?" he asked curiously.

I looked at him.

Is that really what he's curious about?

"I've been here before, Griffin. I've lived here before. For years. I just came back but it isn't necessarily a new place to be in" I said.

Griffin looked at me.

"So how is it?" he asked again.

I chuckled.

"Fine" I said.

Griffin looked at me for a moment.

"You don't look as happy here as you were in Sol. No offense" he said looking away again.

I bit my lower lip.

"Because I miss being with the pack. I think being a little sad to be away from people I considered my family can make me seem less happy" I said.

It was partially true and partially a lie.

I miss my pack but that's not the main reason why I don't seem too happy here.

"How's your mate treating you?" he suddenly asked.

I couldn't answer immediately so Griffin looked at me and he raised a brow at me.

"Aren't you hungry?" I changed the topic.

"Alissa" he said in a serious tone.

"I am. I'm hungry" I said and rushed to grab both Denisse and Liana from the table.

"Can you guys please come with me to get food" I said and even before they could answer, I pulled them away.

"Alissa!" Griffin called for me but I ignored him.

"What's going on?" Lia asked confused.

Denisse looked back.

"Oh dear. Grif seems less happier now. What did you guys talk about?" Denisse said.

I chuckled nervously.

"Oh nothing. He was just asking how life is here" I said.

"And?" both Lia and Denisse said.

"And he also asked how my mate is treating me" I said and they both stopped making me stop with them.

"What did you say then?" Denisse asked.

I gulped.

"I didn't say anything. I changed topics and avoided the question" I said.

Lia and Denisse glanced at each other

"Well, that's one way of saying that you're not being treated well" Lia said and they both continued walking again bringing me with them.

Yeah, that's really one way to say that.

We went to actually get food and we found an available table on the side which is a bit hidden to everyone else.

We put our food down and took a sit.

I looked around.

Coast is clear.

I sighed in relief.

"What do you think Griffin will do?" Denisse asked curiously.

"I don't know. I think Griffin isn't crazy enough to cause a scene or whatever without clearing up something first and he isn't one to disrespect a superior either" I said. "Well, there's always a first for everything" Lia commented.

I bit my lower lip nervously.

Hopefully not.

"That Griffin guy seems incredibly fond of you though" Lia randomly pointed out.

"Oh he's more than just fond of our Alissa. He's pretty smitten to her" Denisse told Lia.

"He is not" I immediately denied to not cause any issues or misunderstanding.

"Oh really?" Lia said with a smile.

"No, he's not" I kept denying but it seems they were already in their own little gossip world despite me being between them.

"Uhuh. If you only know how devastated he was when he found out about your brother being Ali's mate and how depressed he was when she left to go here" Denisse continued. There was no use stopping them at this point so I quietly listened as I ate my food.

"How depressed?" Lia asked curiously.

She seemed very interested in the topic that they weren't even acknowledging my presence anymore.

"Very" Denisse said.

"He spent weeks training and working 24/7 to distract himself from Ali's absence" she continued.

Lia glanced at me.

"Sounds familiar. I know someone who's coping mechanism is the same" she said squinting her eyes at me.

Denisse also looked at me so I looked away guilty.

"Believe me when I say that those two are more similar in so many ways" Denisse said.

"Hmm. Interesting" Lia said.

The two continued chatting and I made my own comments here and there only to either be ignored or proven wrong.

The topic revolved around Griffin, Luke and I.

Well not until...

"There's also Kalil. He's probably another Griffin" Lia said.

I coughed in surprised.

How did Kalik get dragged into this?

"Oh yes. I think so too" Denisse agreed.

I looked at them in disbelief.

"Only difference is Kalil is actually someone who Ali once really liked" Lia said and Denisse nodded in agreement.

"How did you guys replace a way to drag someone else into this?" I said.

They ignored me once again.

I huffed in frustration.

"To be frank, even though Griffin is my cousin, I definitely prefer him for Ali" Denisse said.

My eyes widened at her.

"To be honest, same. Even though Luke is my brother and Ali is married to him now, I still think Kalil would've made such an amazing pair with Ali" Lia said whispered. My eyes widened even more.

They're really talking about another party they preferred during MY WEDDING RECEPTION.

Wow.

I felt baffled as they both giggled.

"Ladies"

We all turned to look and, saw Lucas coming our way.

"I've been searching for you guys. Finally, I found y'all" Lucas said.

"Am I interrupting something?" he asked.

Denisse immediately looked shy when Lucas arrived.

"No, not really" Lia said and clung onto her brother's arm.

"We were simply gossiping about Alissa's affairs" she said.

"In front of her?" Lucas said and glanced at me.

Lia nodded with a proud smile.

"Very bold of you both" Lucas said chuckling.

I pouted and Lucas went beside me and gave me a pat on the back.

"Cheer up, Ali. Atleast, they're not doing it behind your back" he said.

The girls giggled and I frowned.

Lucas chuckled as well as he put his arms on my shoulder while giving me a pat.

I just sighed.

Liana then proceeded to give Lucas a summary of everything they talked about and Lucas listened to her while nodding.

He seemed to agree as well and that did not make it any easier for me.

"Ali is quite a character. Any guy would be extremely lucky to have her" Lucas said.

"She's kind hearted, brave, selfless, passionate, strong, hard working, talented, generous, compassionate, beautiful and so many more" he continued and looked at me with a smile. I blushed shyly.

"You sound like one of the boys who fancy Ali" Lia said raising her eyebrow at her brother.

Lucas chuckled.

"Because I am. I've always looked up to Alissa even when we were still kids. Sometimes even more than how I look up to Luke" Lucas said.

I looked at him a bit surprised.

"Luke is our eldest brother and I looked at Alissa like an older sister" he said then looked at me.

"But I must admit that she also contributed to my ideal type in women" he added with a shrug.

"Oh my gosh, Lucas" Lua said and pulled on her brother.

"When were you going to tell me that you had a crush on Ali?" Lia said pouting.

"It wasn't necessarily a crush" Lucas said.

Of course, Lia kept pushing it was a crush and I just chuckled.

It was the first time of me hearing about it but it made me feel good knowing that Lucas sees me the way he does.

After some time, I excused myself to go to the restroom and I left them at the table as I went to the restroom.

I then looked at myself in the mirror of the mirror.

I still looked fine, thank ghad.

I contemplated on going around to greet other people but it didn't feel right doinyit alone.

In the end, I decided against it.

Whatever. I'll just gi with the flow for now.
