Alissa's POV

I woke up to the movement in the bed.

I slowly opened my eyes and saw Liana and Denisse on both my sides.

I carefully pushed myself up and even more carefully got out of bed.

I went to the bathroom and washed up then I dragged my feet to the balcony.

I hugged myself as I let the cool wind and warm ray of sunlight hit me.

I closed my eyes and smiled a little as I felt happy this morning.

Then, opened my eyes to a familiar scent and once I looked below, my day was immediately ruined.

Luke was just below me and he looked up and our eyes met.

Unlike yesterday, his eyes were no longer filled with guilt or sadness.

Now, it's back to its usual cold look that can easily make on shiver.

He was first to look away as he made his way back inside.

My brows furrowed.

Wait.

Why does he seem like he's the upset one when he's the one was in the wrong.

What?

My jaw clenched as I shut my eyes.

Oh he's really got the nerve huh.

Wow.

I clenched on the balcony railing in frustration.

I got back inside with a frown on my face.

I quietly made my way out of the room and I went to my own.

I grabbed some training clothes from my closet then stopped.

I remembered what mrs. Alaric once mentioned.

I didn't have a hobby.

Now might be a good time to replace one.

I closed my closet again and looked around.

I tried thinking of something to try

"Hm. Painting" I said to myself.

I left my room and tried to replace a helper, once I found one I asked for a canvas, paint and brushes and a bag.

I was immediately provided with what I needed so I thanked the helper as I excitedly made my way downstairs then I left the palace running.

I made my way to the woods then in the bushes, I took my clothes off, put them in the bag and then shifted to my wolf.

I carried the bag in my mouth then ran.

I ran towards the direction of the meadow.

The perfect scenery to paint and a perfect distance away from here.

From him.

I ran as fast as I could.

I felt enthusiastic to search for a hobby.

After some time, I reached the meadow.

I didn't slip past the guards this time and actually asked permission to let me pass to which they did.

I hid by a bush when I shifted back and put on my clothes.

I was a accompanied by a guard and he watched over me as I sat by the tree in the center of the meadow.

The guard didn't join me. He just simply watched me.

I took out my canvas, paint and brushes.

I took a deep breath as I looked around and started painting.

This was a peaceful way to express myself.

It was healthier than training until I drop.

I didn't keep track of time as I painted.

I even forgot to have breakfast before I left.

But it didn't matter.

I was to immersed in what I was doing.

Until the guard came to me and put a basket beside me.

I looked at him and he looked somewhere else so I followed his gaze.

Standing by the woods was Luke.

He was looking at my direction with an unreadable expression on his face.

"His highness said that you should eat breakfast, milady and he wanted me to inform you that your friends are already awake and are trying to look for you" he said. I nodded and gave the guard a small smile.

"Okay. Thank you" I said.

"Also, can you please let my friends know where I am and what I'm doing. I think they'd love to join me" I said.

The guard nodded.

The guard bowed at me before walking away as I took a glance at Luke.

He turned his back and walked away making my clench my jaw.

He isn't even trying to talk to me anymore which is supposed to be a good thing but why was I upset.

I took deep calming breaths.

I continued for about 30 minutes more in painting then Denisse and Liana came with another basket.

"Good morning" I greeted them with a smile.

"Good morning, babes" Denisse greeted me.

"Good morning" Lia greeted me.

The stood behind me and looked at what I was doing.

"Oh wow. You have a knack for painting after all" Lia commented.

"When you take care of pup, you learn the basics and improve day by day" Denisse said.

I agreed.

"Okay, let's pause your painting session for a moment and let's prepare to have a picnic breakfast.

I nodded and set my canvas aside.

I helped in putting the blanket down and setting the food containers.

After a few minutes, we finished and sat together.

"You have a basket with you too. Did you plan on eating alone?" Lia said with a pout.

I looked at the basket.

"I didn't bring it" I said.

"Really? Who did?" Denisse asked.

I didn't answer immediately as they looked at me curiously.

"The guard. The guard brought it for me because I was....hungry" I said.

It wasn't a lie nor was it completely true.

Luke had it brought for me bit they didn't know that.

They also didn't have to know how he was acting since this morning.

I didn't get Luke.

Just yesterday, he was so eager to talk to me, and now, it feels like we've come back to the same spot we were in before I left the palace.

I should hate him but I can't. I don't.

I'm extremely angry with him and I definitely have issues trusting him now.

But no matter how hurt I am, I just can't seem to bring myself to hate him in any way.

And I hate myself for that.

The girls and I started eating.

"Denisse, do you really have to go already?" Lia asked Denisse.

"I shouldn't stay longer, Lia. No one will teach the kids, you know" Denisse said.

Lia pouted.

"I wish your pack would just move with us or atleast move closer to the palace territory" Lia said.

"I kinda wish we were too" Denisse said.

"Me too" I agreed.

It would be so nice to be able to see the members of the Sol pack often.

Unfortunately, they'll be leaving later.

"What's it like in your pack territory?" Lia asked curiously.

Denisse and I glanced at each other.

"It's simple, very peaceful and beautiful" I said.

"Small houses, Secluded area, Fields" Denisse added.

"You'll understand just how special it is when you actually go there yourself" Denisse added.

"You know what? That actually sounds like a good idea" Lia said.

Denisse and I looked at her.

"What is?" I asked.

"Going there" Lia said.

I looked at her with a raised brow and she looked at me.

"Let's go with them. I want to go see your home when you weren't in the palace" she said. "That's incredibly impulsive but I'm not even going to say no to it" I said.

Lia smiled.

"It'll only be for a week or two. I don't have much to do while I'm here anyway" Lia said.

"I do. I have royal lessons" I said.

"Oh yeah" Lia realized.

"But it can wait. I mean, the coronation was postponed and there's no fixed date yet and I can teach you all I know about royalty myself. Then, when we go back, you can continue your formal lessons with mom and maybe even grandma" she said holding on to my

arm.

"Please? It'll only be a week or two. I really really want to see and experience the life you were living before my brother snatched you up" she said battibg her lashes.

I chuckled at the last part.

"Let's see first if aunt Livi actually agrees" I said.

Lia nodded enthusiastically.

After that, we kept talking about the Sol pack.

Then, we finished eating our breakfast and we walked our way back to the palace.

"I just remembered that you'd actually have to tell my brother, don't you? I mean, he is after all, your husband noe. Even when you guys aren't in the best terms" Lia said.

I nodded.

I do have to tell him.

I almost forgot about it.

"I'll let him know" I simply said.

We reached the palace and the first thing I did was put my unfinished painting aside and then went for a shower.

It would be so nice to go back to the Sol pack.

It's like a vacation after everything that's happened for the past month or so.

And for a brief moment, I'll be able to go back to the life I loved with all my heart.

That sounds nice.

I finished showering and wore a robe before going out of the bathroom.

I dried my hair by the vanity and let it down.

After that, I slipped into a green gingham print shirred tie shoulder romper paired with white flat sandals.

Then, I went out of my room and made my way downstairs.

I saw the Alpha there with aunt Livi, uncle Luan, Lucas and...Luke.

Aunt Livi looked at my direction.

"Hello, dear" she greeted me and I came over to her and she gave me a hug.

"Alpha" I greeted the Alpha and he smiled at me before slightly bowing his head.

"Your pack is leaving later. They'll be accompanied by our men back, of course" aunt Livi informed me.

I nodded in understanding.

"Yes uhm I think Liana would want to tell you something, aunty" I said and looked around trying to replace Lia.

"Mommm! Daddd!" Lia called out and she finally reached the living room.

"Oh goodie. Everyone is here" she said skipping in our direction.

She then clung onto her mother's arm.

"Mom, can I please please please come and visit Ali's old pack and Denisse's pack? Pleaseeee? It'll only be for a week or two" she said.

Aunt Livi looked a bit surprised but she glanced at uncle Luan.

"As long as she'll have bodyguards with her at all times for her own safety" uncle Luan said.

Then, aunt Livi turned to the Alpha.

"Alpha, do you accept visitors?" aunt Livi asked.

The Alpha bowed his head.

"Of course, your majesty. It'll be a pleasure to have the Princess as our visitor" the Alpha said.

Aunt Livi nodded.

"It's settled then. You can go in the condition that you'll have guards for your safety" aunt Livi said.

Lia squealed excitedly and hugged her parents.

Lucas nudged me a little.

"Are you going too?" he asked and everyone looked my way.

I glanced at Luke.and immediately looked away when he was looking.

"I am" I simply said and Lucas glanced at his brother before looking at me again and nodding.

After that, Lia pulled me away so we could pack our bags.

I didn't ask permission but I did let Luke know that I was leaving.

I didn't think we were in good terms to have a conversation about it anyway.

Yes, we're married now but I still feel like we aren't actually a married couple yet.

Hell, we aren't even completely mates yet.

But that was both our fault.

We still had so much to deal with before we could eventually accept each other.

It's easier with other normal wolves but it isn't for us.

Luke and I knew so well that we still needed to solve our differences before actually being with each other.

Because eventually, we'd have to lead the people together.

We'd have to build a family together.

We'd need to grow old together.

Until we can completely accept each other, we can't be with each other.

We'd have to lead the people together.
