To Be Yours Again novel (Alec and Jenny)
Chapter 988 Don’t Think About Unnecessary Things

After hearing the sound of the bedroom door closing, Jenny blushed and cautiously opened the bathroom door. She then took the towel and clothes. The clothes belonged to Alec and had a masculine woody scent; they didn't quite fit her.

However, that was the least of Jenny's concerns at that moment. She would just wear them for a while and change when she got home. With that in mind, she put on Alec's shirt and came out of the bathroom. Thank goodness for the heating. Otherwise, not only would it be cold outside, but the house would be freezing too.

Jenny walked from the bedroom to the living room. Alec sat on the couch while waiting for her to come out. Hearing her footsteps, he turned to her and asked, "Do you feel better now?"

"Yeah. Much better," she replied gratefully. Although she felt slightly dizzy, the soreness in her body had somewhat subsided.

"I bought some medicine for you. Since you're a doctor, you can decide which ones to take," he said. He'd asked the pharmacist but felt that Jenny would know better.

Jenny nodded and picked up the medicine Alec had bought. He'd bought a lot; there were even antibiotics.

"Thank you," she said.

Jenny only took the fever medicine and didn't take anything else for the time being. She wanted to wait and see how she felt in the morning. If it was serious, she would take antibiotics, but if she improved, she didn't plan to take any other medicine.

"Thank you for your help. I should go now," she said. It was already very late, and Jenny thought it would be rude for her to keep Alec up any longer.

But Alec grabbed her hand and said with a hint of reproach, "You're wearing so little, and it's cold outside. Do you want to make your condition worse?"

Jenny's heart skipped a beat at his stern tone. He led her back to the bedroom and said, "You can sleep in my room. I'll sleep in my guest room."

"That's not right. I should sleep in the guest room instead of your room," Jenny said. Then, she added, "Or could you lend me a down jacket to wear back home?"

After all, it was only a short walk, so it wasn't as dramatic as Alec made it out to be.

"Rest well, and don't think about unnecessary things," Alec said before leaving the bedroom, not giving Jenny a chance to leave.

Feeling helpless, Jenny lay down on the bed. Perhaps it was because of the fever medicine, as she soon fell asleep despite being in an unfamiliar bed. Meanwhile, Alec, who was in the guest room, couldn't fal asleep. He couldn't help but think about how Jenny had trusted him enough to ask for his help when she was sick.

Maybe he should seriously consider confessing his feelings. Although things were looking up for them now, and no other men were threatening his position, that didn't mean there wouldn't be any in the future. It would be better if she became his girlfriend. That way, even if he was jealous, he had every right to do so, unlike now.

As these thoughts reeled in his mind, Alec didn't realize that the night had passed until he finally decided to close his eyes and sleep. He then discovered that it was almost dawn upon looking at the time.

Alec thought he might as well get up, as Jenny might wake up soon. Since a person with a fever shouldn't eat greasy food, he decided to make some oatmeal for Jenny and began to busy himself in the kitchen.

In the bedroom, Jenny was sleeping soundly, completely unaware that Alec had been awake all night and was currently in the kitchen. When she woke up, it was already eight in the morning. She could see the faint sunlight streaming into the bedroom when she opened her eyes.

In winter, sunlight was particularly precious. Jenny didn't continue lazing and got up from the bed.
