True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1654
When Maria went to take a bath, Liam took the opportunity to go and look for Ernest.
Ernest's room was on the third floor. When Liam reached, he knocked on the door.
When Ernest opened the door and saw Liam standing there, he was momentarily surprised, but then he smiled. "Liam, what is it?"
"Can I come in?" asked Liam.
"Of course," Ernest replied with a smile. "But Leah and I are on a video call. She had to memorize something for her studies, and I'm helping her to go through it. Come in." "What a coincidence. I need to ask your girlfriend for help too," Liam said.
"You need Leah's help?" Ernest turned to look at him. "Is it about the contract between Maria and you?"
Liam had brought up the matter to Ernest and Gary in private before, but he did not expect Liam to be so anxious.
"Yes, you're right." Liam nodded.
The moment he entered the door, he saw Leah on the phone screen. She waved at him and said, "Hello, famous idol. How are you?"
"Hello, Miss Winston," Liam replied. "I need your help."
"If I can be of any help to my idol, that would be my honor," Leah said candidly without refusing him. Then, she smiled and asked, "So, what's the matter?"
Liam looked at Ernest.
Ernest sat down and said, "Liam was wondering if you'd be able to help with drawing up a contract between him and Maria. He wants to be signed to Maria in the future."
"All of it? For the rest of his life?" she asked, surprised.
"Yes, that's right."
"A contract for life," she echoed, shaking her head. "Is there really such a contract? That would be so unfair."
"Ours is a unique case. I want to let Maria handle everything work- wise, so she'll have complete control over me. It also represents my promise to her. However, since I'm not familiar with the legal terms, I thought to ask for your help, Miss Winston," Liam explained.
"Just call me Leah," she said immediately.
"Okay. Leah, will you please help me draw up the contract?" Liam asked, his tone serious.
She hesitated for a moment and looked at Ernest. "Ernest, what do you think?"
Ernest looked at her, then said, "I think that you can help them draft a contract first. After Maria graduates, she'll surely need a lot of help on the legal side of things as well. At that time, you could be her legal counsel. After all, you know each other and get along well. This is fate."
Liam was momentarily stunned, then he broke into a smile. "That's right, Ernest has really thought of it all. Leah, you could really be Maria's legal counsel in the future."
She laughed. "I don't even have a lawyer's license yet. I need to take the exam first."
"That won't be a difficult thing for you," Ernest replied, giving her an encouraging smile.
Leah nodded. "Okay, I'll consider what you said. Let me know more about the requirements of the contract. I'll help you draft one and send it to you tomorrow. After that, we can continue to check if it needs to be modified."
"That's awesome. Sorry to trouble you." Then, he smiled at her and said, "I won't disturb you two anymore. I'll leave now."
Leah chuckled. "All right then. Bye."
After Liam left, Ernest looked at Leah tenderly. "Drawing up the contract will take up a lot of your time and delay all the memorizing you have to do."
She did not seem to mind. "It's fine. This is a real-world experience. I can use what I've memorized. It'll be like a test for me."
That was just how Leah was. To her, nothing was impossible.
Seeing her determination and dedication, Ernest felt happy and encouraged.
"Remember, this contract is like a contribution agreement. He is determined to give himself to Maria for the rest of his life," Ernest reminded her.
Leah nodded. "He truly loves her and is so invested in their relationship. Even I have to give it to him."
Seeing how invested she was in Liam's love story, Ernest smiled slightly and said, "Do you want me to sign one with you too?"
Leah was stunned, but she immediately shook her head, "No, I'm not an agent. I can't support you."
He looked into her eyes and said, "Sign me up, and I'll give you everything. I'll give you my soul and every penny that I earn."
"No," she replied. "Don't tease me. It's not easy for me to concentrate on memorizing. I won't be able to concentrate if you tease me."
He smiled. "I am being serious."
Leah rolled her eyes and said, "Okay then, but I don't want your money. I just want one thing."
"What's that?" he asked.
Leah thought for a while before saying, "Ernest, I want all of your tiny little 'tadpoles'. You're not allowed to give it to any other woman. You can only give it to me."
He started coughing loudly, completely shocked by her words.
Leah had a knack for saying such shocking things. Ernest thought to himself.
He blushed slightly.
He felt that he was the one who was being seduced.
Pleased at having gotten back at him, she said with a smile, "Okay, I'm going to class now. You, on the other hand, should sleep earlier."
I promise."
Before the call ended, he gave her his word, agreeing to her bold request earlier.
Leah was stunned, then she smiled again. Her eyes were as bright as the stars in the sky.
"Good. Remember, your body only belongs to me."
With a smile, she hung up.
Her clear laughter was still ringing in his ears. After a while, he looked around. The realization that he was alone in the room made him feel lonely again.
When Liam returned to his room, Maria still had not finished her bath.
He acted as if nothing had happened and waited for her to come out.
After some time, she opened the bathroom door. When she saw him, she immediately said, "Okay, your turn."
He nodded and gave her a meaningful look. "Wait for me."
She blushed.
She dried her hair and turned off the light, leaving only a small lamp on.
At that moment, her phone suddenly rang.
She looked at the phone and saw that Zachary was calling her.
She immediately answered it. "Dad."
"Don't just fool around and forget what you have to do. Liam does not have a job right now. He's still waiting for your arrangements," Zachary reminded her. "If you don't have the ability to make him famous, then you'd better return him to Theclair Group and let Suanne manage him."
"Of course I do. Who said I didn't?" Maria asked. "I'm already forming my team. Dad, don't worry about this. I promise you that he'll become famous."
"Okay. I'll be waiting. If you don't show us what you've got, then you'll become a laughing stock," he warned.
Maria sniffed and said, "Dad, don't worry. There's no need to use these tricks on me. I know what I'm doing. Don't you know who I am? Like father, like daughter." Upon hearing that, Zachary smiled and said, "Okay, then we'll wait and see."
"Yes. Just you wait and see."
Zachary quickly ended the call.
She immediately picked up her phone and dialed a number. As soon as the person answered her call, she asked impatiently, "Is the script finished yet?"
"I need three more days."
"Hurry up. We're all waiting here. My director is waiting for it," Maria said. "If it keeps getting delayed, then you won't make your deadline." "Okay, I understand."
After hanging up, she lay on her bed as she waited for Liam.
After some time, he came out with a bath towel wrapped around him. She immediately got up to help him dry his hair.
He remained silent as she dried his hair, enjoying the feeling of being taken care of by Maria. Soon, his hair was dry. The moment he turned around, he hugged her and lowered his head. Maria hurriedly put down the hairdryer and whispered, "Do you have to be in such a hurry?" He replied, "Of course. I want you every second of the day."
Her cheeks burned with embarrassment. He seemed to have become very clingy lately.
"How long will you be in London?" she asked him.
He smiled and answered, "I thought about staying for a long time, but I'm worried that Mr. Lowe will think that I'm being lazy and ignoring my career."
He held her in his arms and placed her on the bed. Looking down at her, he said, "I'll go back next week."
"You don't have to go back yet," she told him. "The director is in England. You're going to be a part of this show, so why don't you meet the director here? When he goes back to start the auditions, we can go back together."
Liam was stunned. He had been about to kiss her, but he raised his head and asked, "Did you really
invest in a television series?"
Maria nodded. "Together with a couple of other people."
"Who?" he asked, frowning slightly. He knew nothing about that.
"Adrian Scott," Maria replied. "We worked together to adapt Leah's book. He invested 50 million dollars while I invested 80 million dollars. In total, we invested 130 million dollars. You'll be the male lead, and we plan on getting rookies for the other roles."
