True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1711
"Does Gary know about this?" Heinz asked.
"No, I haven't told him yet. I wanted to tell you guys first," Celeste looked at Heinz.
"Alright then. I don't have any objections. Since your application has already been approved, go ahead. Gary will be so glad to hear that you'll be going there with him," Heinz smiled warmly. Celeste was still a bit hesitant and laughed, "To be honest, I'm worried that he won't want me to go with him."
"That won't be possible. He probably regrets not letting you go to Boston before. I think you made a good choice to stay there for a year. Celeste, you've really impressed me," Heinz chuckled. Even though it was a rash decision, Heinz thought that it was rational.
If they went to the United States together, they could stay with each other for an entire year.
They would be able to spend more time with each other, and a stronger bond might form between the two. They would also be able to avoid the complications that usually arose in long-distance relationships.
"I think it's great that you guys will be together for the next year. Gary will definitely be ecstatic once he replaces out."
"I'll tell him later," After gaining Heinz and Grace's support, Celeste felt that she had made the right decision and grew more confident.
"Go ahead, you guys will have to discuss more about this. Once you guys get to Boston, I suppose we'll fly back home after that."
That statement made Celeste think of Cindy. She asked Heinz, "Uncle Heinz, when will Cindy be sent back to Northern City?"
"Well, she hasn't been cleared to be discharged from the hospital yet. Once she recovers a little bit more, she'll be good to go. Someone will escort her back."
Celeste nodded, "Alright then, I'll be going then."
"Go ahead," Heinz nodded.
After Celeste left, Grace said to Heinz, "She's really made a bold decision, hasn't she?"
Heinz agreed wholeheartedly, "She really is. I think she made the right decision. Though, I think if she hadn't done this, Gary would've figured out a way to stay in London for her. When I talked to him about this last time, I'm certain that he had been making plans to stay but he just didn't elaborate on it. I didn't want to pry, so I didn't really ask much. Maybe the two of them have plans of their own."
After careful consideration, Grace said to Heinz, "I think Celeste should have done this a little earlier on. Gary might not be prepared for this to happen so fast. I don't think he'll expect Celeste to apply for an exchange in Boston in secret."
Heinz smiled and stroked his wife's belly lovingly, "Perhaps she just wanted to surprise Gary. As long as everything runs smoothly for them, we won't have to worry too much. We should instead worry about the babies in your belly, don't you think so? I want to keep you in a good mood so they can grow healthily. This is an important task for both of us."
Grace nodded and sighed, "I'm already old enough to be someone's grandmother. I can't believe I'm pregnant with twins in my forties." The thought of that left her worried.
"This is actually a blessing. It means that our family will grow, and that our family name will be passed down for generations to come. After you give birth to the twins, we might just get more grandchildren in five years."
Grace was excited for the future. She hoped that all of her children would grow up to be kind and healthy. That was all she wanted.
"Ernest and Gary are going to get married to their individual spouses soon and give birth to their own children. Furthermore, Sebastian and Sylvia are all grown up now," After a slight pause, Grace suddenly thought of Lowell, who was also in Boston. She then said to Heinz, "Lowell is not young anymore. I don't even know if he has a girlfriend yet. When he came back last time, we didn't discuss his dating life in detail. After he went to Boston, I feel like he's been growing distant with us. I think he must be keeping some things to himself."
Heinz agreed, "Lowell is independent enough. He knows what he wants. We've already done our best raising him, haven't we? Whatever he decides to do in the future will be wholly up to him. We don't have to worry about him too much. Anyways, I'm sure Lowell has a plan of his own."
Lowell's place in the family was a little weird. After all, he was Grace and Heinz's younger brother. It was difficult for him to admit his relationships with both Grace and Heinz.
Because of that, he might not choose to return to Northern City to live. It would require a great deal of courage for him to do so after all.
When Celeste returned to her room, Gary was working on his computer. Upon Celeste's return, he asked in surprise, "Where were you? I couldn't replace you just now."
Celeste took a deep breath and closed the door. Then, she fixed her gaze on Gary and walked up to him.
"What's wrong? Why are you looking at me like that? Have I dazzled you with my handsome nature?" Gary laughed as he said.
"Yes, you have. I only have eyes for you, only you," Celeste answered seriously.
Gary's lips curled into a smile. He was very pleased with Celeste's reply and laughed, "Thank you, Celeste, I'm glad to hearthat."
"Gary, I have something to tell you," Celeste said.
"Celeste, why do you look so serious? You're scaring me. Just cut right to the chase," Gary was unsettled by Celeste's solemn tone. He looked worriedly at Celeste, not knowing what she was going to say to him.
"Well, I just want to tell you that I plan to continue my studies in Boston after you're done with your internship in London next week. All my applications have been processed and approved, so all that's left for me to do now is board the plan when the time comes," Celeste said slowly as she stared into Gary's eyes.
"What? You've already gotten your application approved?" Gary asked, greatly surprised. Soon after that, he continued, "Oh my goodness, I just called my professor over the phone today! I told him that I was planning to stay here for another year."
This time, it was Celeste's turn to be shocked, "What did you say? You're planning to stay in London?"
"That's right. I called him this morning," Gary looked at Celeste and chuckled, "You've gotten everything approved already?"
Celeste nodded and handed the stack of documents she had printed out to Gary.
Gary looked through it carefully.
After he was done, he shook his head and laughed. With a relaxed smile, he said, "I really didn't expect you to do this behind my back, Celeste. You were five steps ahead of me! You're full of surprises." Celeste was very nervous. She looked at him and asked, "So, what do you think? Do you want me to go to Boston with you?"
"Of course!" Then, Gary pulled Celeste into his lap and continued with a grin, "Looks like the both of us want to be together. Fortunately, it's still not too late for me to change my plans. I'll call the professor now and tell him to cancel my application to extend my internship in London. Once you're done with your research over in Boston after a year, I'll submit my application once more to keep you company in London. That way, we'll get to stay together every day."
When Celeste heard that, she felt relieved.
She leaned into Gary's embrace and sighed softly, "I thought you didn't want me to come with you."
After all, he had told her four years ago that they would separate in the future no matter what.
As soon as she recalled that incident, the light in Celeste's eyes grew dim.
"Why would you think that? God knows how much I regretted not coming to London with you four years ago. I didn't even have the guts to ask if you'd come to Boston with me. At that time, I was too arrogant. I thought I had everything under control. It wasn't until reality suddenly hit me in the face that I realised that I had nothing to be arrogant about."
Celeste was speechless. She didn't think that Gary would talk about himself like that.
Gary was indeed a haughty man. When did he start admitting his mistakes so readily?
He had actually admitted to his own fault. Celeste suddenly came to the realization that perhaps she had never truly gotten to know Gary in the past.
It turned out that he was not as self-righteous as she thought.
He was actually very responsible.
This discovery made Celeste break into a warm smile. She hugged him and whispered in his ear, "From now on, you'd better not get annoyed with me. I'm going to be with you every day."
"Of course not! I am literally about to leap with joy. Why would I get annoyed with you? Care to tell me what made you make such a bold decision?" Gary asked as he hugged Celeste closer.
Celeste hesitated for a moment and eventually decided to tell him the truth, "Well, after I learned that you had given Cindy your blood, I decided to go to Boston with you."
