The funeral would be held two days later. In accordance with the customs and regulations there, the Old Master of the Lowe Family would be laid to rest.

Grace's grandmother was also buried in the Lowe family's ancestral tomb as well.

The whole graveyard was densely packed with tombstones; it was the burial place for all the ancestors of the Lowe family. Two wives were on both sides of Master Lowe's tomb.

In the front row, there was Uncle Philip's tombstone, and even Nerissa's tombstone had been completed. The dead were painted with red words while those who were still living had their names painted in white.

After her grandmother was buried, Grace felt as if a huge burden had been relieved from her.

She bowed to her uncle. Madam Lowe stood by the side and looked at her with tears in her eyes.

Grace felt very sad and distressed inwardly. After all, her aunt was still very young. It was also a misfortune for her to lose her husband at such a young age.

After burying the Old Master and Grace's grandmother, everything was considered a success.

Charles, who was the head of the Lowe family, and Eva were still locked inside the detention center.

After returning to the Lowe Villa, Grace and Heinz did not have any other activities because of the funeral that had just been held.

They planned to give everything to their lawyer after taking a short rest. After that, they would return to Northern City.

The evening before they left, Madam Lowe arranged a sumptuous dinner.

After having a reunion dinner together, Heinz brought Grace, Alice and the children back with him.

On the way back, Heinz called Jensen.

He purposely called him in front of Alice. Sure enough, when Alice heard the call from Jensen, she instantly tensed up. Heinz glanced at Alice calmly and said to the phone, "Jensen, how is Aunt doing?"

Jensen said, "She's fine. Don't worry, it's not a big deal."

Heinz asked again, "Then are you still in the hospital?"

"Yes. How are things going on your side?"

"Yes, everything went well. We've already returned to Northern City. We're on our way back there."

Jensen did not ask about anything else. "Okay, let's talk about it when you all come back. You all must be tired these days."

Heinz glanced at Alice and said, "We're doing fine. It's more like you who's tired as you have been taking care of Aunt for so many days."

Alice lowered her eyes so that no one could see the emotion brimming in them. Her whole body was a little tense.

Heinz said again, "Just tell me if you need help."

Jensen said, "I won't be polite to you. As of now, I can handle it completely by myself. Don't worry."

"Alright."

"Alright, if there's nothing else, I'll hang up now." Jensen was still in the hospital at this time, so it was not convenient for him to say anything more.

Heinz asked deliberately, "I'm fine. But you, do you have anything else to do?"

Jensen also instantly understood what Heinz meant, but he didn't say anything. "There's nothing else. That's all."

"Okay, I'll hang up then."

Just like that, Heinz quickly hung up the phone and glanced at Alice's tense body and stiffened face.

In fact, Alice could not hear what was on the other side of the phone at all. She could only gather a little information from Heinz's words.

She could also hear that her brother-in-law was doing something on purpose, but there seemed to be no reply from the other side.

Grace, standing to the side, asked, "Heinz, how's Jensen's mother?"

"She's still in the hospital. She might have to stay for a little while longer."

Grace asked in surprise, "Is it so serious? What's wrong with her?"

Heinz said, "I didn't ask. He said before that her heart was not in good condition, so I guess she's suffering from the same illness now."

Alice turned her face away and looked out of the window.

Grace and Heinz looked at each other. "You can go and have a look after you get back. It's still not too late today. It's best to see the doctor in the morning and not wait until the afternoon," she eventually said. A glint flashed in Heinz's eyes. He smiled and said, "You even know about this?"

"Sometimes, people do know a little about customs. At least, they should know basic manners. Patients like to be vigorous and active and they don't like to just lie around."

"Of course!" Heinz nodded. Then suddenly, he looked at Alice and said, "Alice, do you want to come along?"

Alice was stunned and had to turn her eyes back. She looked at Heinz and said, "I'm not going."

Heinz raised his eyebrows and said, "Not going? After all, you had quite a deep relationship with Jensen. Don't you want to go and have a look?"

Alice said directly, "No, Heinz, you can go by yourself."

She obviously did not want to say any more, so she quickly changed the subject and played with the children.

Grace and Heinz looked at each other again. Heinz nodded. "Okay, then I'm going."

It was already 10:30 in the morning when they got back to Northern City.

Heinz went directly to the hospital. After Alice went back, she suddenly realized that she had nowhere to go and she could only go back to the Emerald Apartment.

At that point, Jensen should not be in Hart Villa District, so she could take this opportunity to pack up her things and quietly return to Emerald Apartment.

But she didn't expect that when she went back to Hart Villa District and opened the door of the bedroom, she happened to run into Jensen, who had just taken a shower and was coming out of the bathroom. He wasn't wearing anything at all.

The two stared at each other.

Alice's eyes widened in an instant.

Jensen also came back to his senses after a moment of stupefaction. He took a pillow to cover himself and said awkwardly, "Sorry, I didn't know you would come."

Alice also turned away sharply and her face turned completely red, burning all the way to her ears. Then she said, "I didn't come at the right time. You go and change your clothes. I'll wait for you outside." "Okay!"

Alice closed the door for him.

Jensen breathed a sigh of relief, but as soon as he looked down at himself, he suddenly felt an impulsiveness.

After all, he hadn't done that for many years. A few days ago, he just got to taste it again, but just a little; it was not nearly enough to savor it.

As soon as he saw Alice, he could stimulate himself in an instant.

Jensen took a deep breath and quickly changed into a set of outdoor clothes.

He stayed in the hospital for a night and came back to tidy himself up. He wanted to go back to the office to investigate a case, but he did not expect Alice to come back here.

He was very nervous at that moment and he didn't know why Alice was there.

He stood at the door for a long time before he opened it and finally walked out.

Outside, Alice was sitting on the sofa while blushing. She had just been a little bit embarrassed, but as soon as she saw Jensen come out, she immediately blushed again. She stood up quickly and said in a low voice, "I'm here to pack up my things."

Jensen was stunned. He pursed his lips and looked at Alice. After a few days of not seeing her, Alice had become much thinner.

Alice also looked at Jensen and realised that his eyes were red, his eye bags were heavy, and he looked very tired.

Her heart skipped a beat, but she still asked, "How's Aunt doing?"

Jensen stood there and looked at her calmly. "She is still in the hospital."

Nothing else was said.

Alice thought that he would say something else, but he did not speak again. His attitude and his tone were very calm.

It was this calmness that deprived Alice of all her energy in an instant.
