Ultimate Evolution I Became the Master of the World
Chapter 61 Successful Detention

The scenery and buildings around were just as familiar as the mall.

But everything had this eerie red tint, like the whole world was dipped in blood.

The Ghost Realm seemed small, but once you were in, it could stretch out forever, hanging somewhere between real and fake. Even Michael, who owned the Ghost Realm, couldn't figure out its true nature.

Right now, though, there was a corpse standing in front of Michael.

A corpse missing an arm, with its head twisted all the way around.

He knew this corpse.

It was one of Mr. Rossi's assistants.

Around thirty, looked pretty young.

'Yep, this ghost likes the fresh ones. It ditches the old, rotting ones but might be able to jump into any corpse it wants. If that's true, no matter how good Ethan is, he won't catch it unless he locks down all the bodies at once.' 'But now that I've got it trapped in the Ghost Realm, it can't run away.'

'Ethan was smart to team up with me. He didn't waste the chance to be the bait,' he thought.

Michael checked the countdown on his phone.

Two minutes and forty seconds had passed.

But it didn't matter.

He'd found the ghost, and his limit was five minutes. As long as he could lock it up, it didn't matter if he took the whole five minutes.

"But this is the most dangerous part," Michael took a deep breath.

Before, he was just dealing with corpses the ghost controlled. Now, he was facing the real deal.

The corpse in front of him didn't stay still. Maybe it knew Michael had figured it out. Its head, like a wind-up toy, slowly turned back to normal and then it turned around.

Its creepy eyes, whether they could see or not, stared right at Michael.

Numb, stiff, no emotion at all.

Like a creepy doll, just looking at it was terrifying.

But this wasn't Michael's first rodeo with a ghost. He'd faced scarier ones before, like the knocking ghost, so he was pretty tough.

Suddenly, the ghost moved.

It moved fast, its fresh corpse running at a speed no human could match, heading straight for Michael. In almost two seconds, it was right in front of him, reaching out with its one good hand, not for Michael's head, but for the eye on his hand. "Ethan's hand, my demon's eye, you want to build a body made of Vengeful Ghost parts? Is that why you keep switching bodies, looking for the right pieces?"

Michael didn't move. He stood his ground, not dodging.

"Seems like you and the Ghost Baby, have a lot of potential. Once you get a body made of ghost parts, you could be an S-destruction level threat. But right now, you're not that scary," Michael said. Michael didn't let the ghost grab him. The demon's eye on his hand was about to be ripped out.

But then, he vanished.

Michael reappeared a short distance behind the ghost.

"I'm glad I can stop a ghost that's gonna be super dangerous today. But I still don't get it, do you ghosts have any brains?"

He tried to figure out some useful info from the ghost's actions, purpose, and existence.

To make the most of this operation.

But the ghost didn't respond, just stood there stiffly, not moving.

"If we can't talk, then I gotta lock you up, you creepy thing." Michael didn't get cocky, even though he was in his Ghost Realm. "Ethan, your turn," Michael called out.

As the red light covered the clothing store, Michael's figure appeared, along with the corpse.

Ethan had reattached the arm the ghost had taken. Who knew how he did it, maybe it was the ghost's power in him.

"Is it this corpse?" Seeing Michael pop up, he was startled and asked right away.

"I trapped it in the Ghost Realm. Did any other corpses move while I was gone?" Michael asked.

"Nope." Ethan looked at the other corpses, which were still.

Then he said, "Just double-checking. If we mess up, you know what happens."

Michael said, "We're risking our necks here. If we can lock this ghost up, you can retire early, right? A hundred million bucks, enough to die happy. Same for me." "You're right." Ethan made up his mind and stepped into the Ghost Realm.

He couldn't go in on his own, Michael had to let him in.

But as soon as Ethan entered, maybe his presence spooked the ghost.

Right away, a blurry figure came out of the corpse.

Its height and size quickly changed, matching Michael's build, but the ghostly figure still had no head.

A headless ghost! So this was its true form?

No wonder every corpse's head decayed the fastest-it was missing a head.

"Michael, it's coming for you!" Ethan shouted urgently.

Before he could finish, the ghostly figure darted towards Michael, like it wanted to merge with him.

It was hard to tell if Michael couldn't react in time or if the ghost's movements were just too weird.

Soon, the ghostly figure merged into Michael's body.

He froze.

"What the hell?" Ethan's eyes narrowed, heart pounding.

After all this time, he knew the ghost's ability.

This ghost could take over a person's body, not just a body but other things too. If it took over Michael now, they were screwed.

"What are you freaking out about? That ghost only possessed a mannequin. Looks like even ghosts can be fooled."

Michael's voice rang out. He had somehow walked over from the side.

He was fine.

And the "Michael" possessed by the ghostly figure in front of him, with a slight flash of red light, turned into a mannequin.

"Is this the power of the unsolvable Ghost Realm?" Ethan looked at Michael, who had suddenly appeared, in shock.

He even wondered if this Michael was fake.

But even if it was, he couldn't tell.

The Ghost Realm could twist reality however it wanted; only what Michael believed to be real was real.

"Time's ticking. If you don't act now, I'm outta here," Michael said.

"I know." Ethan snapped out of it and hurried over.

With just one step, he was in front of the fake mannequin.

Even the distance could be shortened?

Ethan didn't have time to be amazed by the Ghost Realm. He grabbed the mannequin, and blood seeped from his gloved hands, quickly soaking into it.

The ghost blood that could restrict other ghosts made contact with the real ghost, and the corpses in the clothing store began to fall one by one.

The heads and bodies of the corpses separated, like a set of blocks being knocked over.

"It worked. Congrats, you've captured the real ghost. Your ability is impressive. I can only trap it, not restrict it," Michael said, glancing over.

Ethan smiled wryly, "Don't joke around. Your unsolvable Ghost Realm is the real deal. Unless I grab the ghost with both hands, I'm useless. If I fail to restrict it, I won't even have a chance to escape. But if we team up, capturing a ghost would be a breeze."

He looked at Michael again. Their abilities really did complement each other.

But then Ethan felt regret.

His time was running out; he wouldn't live much longer. If he had met Michael earlier, things might have been different.

But Michael was just a student a few days ago. He hadn't been a Ghost Handler for long.

"Let's talk later. It's almost four minutes. You don't want me to die from a ghost's resurgence, do you? Hurry up and imprison it," Michael said.

"Wait a bit longer, it's not that fast," Ethan replied.

Michael could only wait patiently.

About ten seconds later, the ghost blood Ethan had infiltrated was enough, and the fake plastic mannequin began to melt.

Ghost blood seeped from every joint of the mannequin, gradually covering its entire body, and then it started to melt.

The ghostly figure attached to it seemed to melt as well.

Blood flowed on the ground, forming a pool, affecting the surrounding Ghost Realm.

Ethan squatted down and placed his hand on the blood pool.

The blood seemed to be reabsorbed into his body, quickly decreasing.

In the end, only a small puddle remained.

But in that puddle of blood, a headless figure struggled.

It reached out, flipped its body, trying to escape from the blood pool.

But it was futile.

The blood acted like a shackle, firmly trapping it.

"Now it's done." Ethan took out a heavy gold box.

Though small, it was enough to contain the small puddle of blood.

The blood on the ground wriggled, as if alive, carrying the trapped headless ghost into the box.

The box closed tightly, but Ethan wasn't reassured. He took out golden foil and wrapped it several times, leaving no gaps.

"This is just a preliminary containment. We need to melt the gold foil and weld the opening shut completely. Only then will the ghost be trapped forever. Or even a small gap could let it escape. Other Ghost Handlers have experienced this before," he explained.

After doing all this, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"Got it." Michael watched, memorizing the steps.

Gold alone wasn't enough; there must be no gaps.

"Now that we've successfully imprisoned the ghost, what's your next move? If you don't mind, I can keep the box for now. What do you think?" he asked slowly.
