Waited For The Luna
Chapter 51

When I opened my eyes it was my brother Noah. Frown evident on his face. He was smiling yet his eyes saw pity in me.

“Noah!” I whispered smilingly at him.

“Hey, Bellamy you’re alright.” He said cupping my cheeks in his hand. I nodded in response. I was happy my brother was here, I scanned around and saw no one else. It was just the two of us in the room/

I was sleeping on my sideways and had a big quilt to cover my bulging belly. I didn’t want to sit up just yet. I didn’t know how they’d take the news.

“Dad and Luka are speaking to the chief healer about your situation. They’ll be here any minute.” I nodded and closed my eyes once more still feeling sleepy. “Just rest for a while little sis.”

My heart was touched. Noah was the closest friend I have. Growing up he protected me and thought me how to be strong. I was a cry baby and was traumatized about losing my parents, being in a new environment, I would cry a lot. Noah would give me cookies and tell me that the cookies are like happy pills. As a kid, I instantly believed him and would stop crying.

I didn’t have a female figure growing up and only had Noah to tell my secrets to. He never once told anyone of my silly crushes in school and made a safe space for me to shed out all my feelings. He is the best big brother in the world and I was lucky to be his little sister.

I was happy he was the one I reached out to because I felt the most comfortable with him. I know he would always want to do what’s best for me.

LUKA’S POV

We were in their house just finish investigating when Noah noticed the missed calls. I wanted to talk to her so badly but Noah said that there is a reason why Bellamy contacted her first and that it would be best to calm her down and know where she is before I could speak to her. It was gruesome hearing Bellamy on the speaker crying but Noah knows how to make her feel comfortable and in no time she was able to tell where she was.

When we got there Alli told us everything about the venom in her b***d and how it was slowly poisoning her.

“You mean to say that the venom can be easily extracted but Bellamy opted for a different method?” Thomas asked.

“Well, the situation got different. So we had to make do with another procedure. It would be better to discuss it with her once she’s up.” Alli stated. After that, he bowed and left us.

Bellamy didn’t have to leave, I would’ve taken her anywhere to get her healed myself. Once we were done talking Thomas and I entered her room again.

She was lying on her side with her eyes closed. Noah stood up and I sat on the side he left and held Bellamy’s hand, Seeing her all skin and bones was heartbreaking. Her eyes sunk deep with dark circles underneath. Her complexion was pale.

“Oh baby,” I whispered kissing her forehead. She opened her eyes half-open upon feeling my lips on her skin.

“It’s okay Luka. I’ll get through this. I’ll be strong for you and…” She sounded weak and my wolf was crying for her, why did I let this happen.

“I know my love you’re going to be fine. We just got back together and you decided to leave me again.” I lightly scolded.

“I didn’t have a choice. I didn’t want to hurt any of you.” She said as she scanned the room.

“You know I’d rather be with you through thick and thin my love. I can never get through you leaving me again.” I replied.

“We’ll get through this honey. Alli said that your situation will improve once you’ve taken the antidote. You would’ve been okay 3 months ago.” Thomas added.

I looked at him then her with a slight frown. She looked like she was hiding something.

“Why did you decide on a less invasive procedure? If you got back to your old one then you might’ve healed sooner.” She looked at everyone with tears in her eyes. There was a noticeable silence in the room, Bellamy looked down and up again with pain obvious in her face.

“Because he won’t survive.” She said. I was slightly confused until she asked me to help her sit up. She took off the quilt covering her body.

Noah and Thomas were both surprised. I was conflicted. She was pregnant. And it was killing her.

“I called because I don’t think…” she cut off before crying I took her hand for support. “Our child is going to need you.” She said imposing an idea I couldn’t entertain. “And you’ll have to be there for him, you have to promise me!”

“Bellamy that thing is killing you! You should’ve waited till you were alright!” Noah yelled sounding disappointed. He was brushing his hair with both hands and Thomas was trying to calm him down. I agreed with what he said. We could’ve made more if she was healthy.

“No! Noah, I’m happy. I could never hurt my child.” She said. “Our child” She lovingly looked at me in the eyes before settling her eyes back to her bump. “Luka, don’t let them hurt my baby.”

“You’re not thinking straight Bellamy! You’ll die! Who do you think will take care of that thing.”

“This thing is my child Noah! You have no say in this.” She spat angrily.

I on the other hand was torn. Both were speaking sense. As a parent, I could never kill my own child. But as a lover, I couldn’t watch myself see the light of my life in this state. It’s Bellamy’s body and she calls the shots

Noah then jolted me on my shoulders, frustration evident on his face. “How about you! You get a say in this. Tell her it’s killing her!” He was always a man of senses, this one was different and in rage. He couldn’t watch her little sister die and I understand but this is too much stress on her sister.

I signalled to Thomas who grabbed Noah by the arm.

“Come, son. Let’s leave them to talk.” Thomas said and they left.
