Waited For The Luna
Chapter 57

I went back and checked on the pack. I spent most days worrying about my girl but it was a good thing Eric had my back. He was performing well as a beta. He’s there at my every beck and call. And supported me as a brother and godfather to Comet.

After a year he proposed to Brooklyn and she happily agreed. After working hard for the pack, I know he deserves a little break. Due to the ceremony happening in a few days, I decided to postpone Bellamy’s rest.

Just like old times Trey, Forrest, Eric, and I were gathered for Eric’s bachelor party at the old campsite. We had beers and sat down in the old fireplace.

“To your last day of freedom!” Trey announced.

“I’m not getting imprisoned dumbass. I’m only getting married to the girl I love.” Eric smoothly replied. Brooklyn really turned him into a lover boy.

“Woah! Skirt-chaser has turned into a lover-boy.” Forrest jumped in. They shared laughter and cheers for Eric. I on the other hand wasn’t in such a good mood.

“You good bro?” Eric asked.

I hummed in reply as I drank my beer.

“She’ll wake up, man. I know you’re losing hope but you waited this long.”

I paused for a moment and scoffed “I don’t know how long I should wait. I could wait a whole lifetime if I want to, but I don’t think it’s fair for Comet and Bellamy.” I bit my lips showing a little frustration. “I don’t want Comet seeing her in that state. I also don’t want Bellamy’s soul bothered.” I was trying to suppress my tears in front of the boys.

“Macy misses her. She prays to the moon goddess every night for her and Comet,” Trey mentioned.

“I miss her too. I hug her every night yet I know she couldn’t feel me. And I can’t let Comet watch her in this state until he grows up.” I wiped my eyes dry before adding “Enough of me. This is your night!” I said patting Eric on the shoulders.

“We’re not the same as 10 years ago man. We won’t punch you if you cry.” Eric joked.

“You know, 10 years went by really fast. Can’t believe we used to wear skinny jeans in school” Forrest added as he reminisced on the past.

“You think that’s awkward? I have lunch with people I used to throw in the lake now! I haven’t even atoned for my sins yet.” Trey said.

“I got punished real hard. 8 years without a mate, I was almost going to ask the Luna’s hand in marriage if I didn’t know.” Eric joked.

“I’ve been damned from the very beginning. Mated to someone who hated me, she ran away. I got depressed. We got together and she got taken twice. It’s like the moon goddess hates to see me happy after everything I did.” I laughed endlessly until it didn’t really feel funny anymore. I laughed and laughed until tears went down my cheeks. I then laid down on the ground in exhaustion.

“I’m sorry for ruining your night man.”

“Come here, big guy!” They then huddled and gave me a hug.

I was a little jealous of them. They were all happy and settled. While Bellamy lays down suffering cursed in a sleep-like state for an infinite amount of days. The only thing that was keeping me up was out boy Comet. That night I felt luckiest to have them as friends. I’ve never been really open with my feelings to them since I always try to keep a strong front but I couldn’t keep my act for long.

With running the pack, being a dad and a husband I was a ticking time bomb, waiting to explode.

“I know it’s hard man. But you got to hold on a little longer.” Eric said.

Even though I wanted to give her rest, it still didn’t feel right to do so. I was afraid that Bellamy might be replaceing a way back to us and if I turn her switch off we might regret it both.

Eric got married after 2 days. I gifted them an all-expense-paid trip to the Bahamas for their honeymoon. Eric has always been there by my side so this was the least I could do for him.

The reception was beautifully set. Brooklyn’s friends and family were there.

“Hi is this seat taken?” a girl in a black dress asked. I shook my head not giving her any business.

“So you’re from around here?” She said as she leaned in for a glass of wine.

“MMhmmm” I can tell she was trying to flirt at me.

“I’m Cassie by the way. I’m Brooke’s colleague…. and you are?”

“Luka White.” I smiled as I shook her hand.

“So Luka White, you’re not going to ask for my num—” She said seductively before getting disrupted by my son.

“Daddy!” Comet came to the rescue. “Daddy, home! now!” He was getting tired and a little grumpy. Macy had him at first before he spotted me and climbed to my lap.

“Oh, you have a son. Hey little boy, you look really cute. What’s your name.” She said leaning into Comet.

“Come on Comet. Mommy’s waiting for us at home.” I said hastily standing up, ignoring the girl.

“Why would her mommy wait for you at home when the both of you are at a party?” One more word and I’m kicking her out.

“I believe that’s none of your business. I don’t want to be disrespectful but I don’t want to be engaged in a conversation with you. So if you excuse me my son is tired and my wife is waiting for us back home.”

I dismissed her and went to the exit. I strapped Comet to his seat and drove back home.

When we got home I carried Comet to his room and cooed him to sleep. I then went to Bellamy’s room and gave her a k**s on the forehead.

I stared at her for a while.

“Are you tired?” I asked.

“It’s almost Comet’s birthday. He’s gonna want to have you by his side.”

“Can you do that? Can you wake up now? I know I decided to give you rest, but I couldn’t do it. I can’t let you go.” I whispered as I brushed her black hair.

But still no movement, no sound. There was only silence.
