Chapter 0609

“It’s all thanks to the two construction teams from Mr. Cooper,” Jack said.

Initially, he brought them over to construct the foundation, but Jack quickly realized he had underestimated their skills. Not only were they great at civil work, but these people were also professionals in interior design and material selection

After the foundation work was completed, Jack decided not to return them to Sam right away. He assigned them to do the interior renovations and help set up the smart control systems

“Mr. Cooper, you don’t mind, right?” Jack asked.

Miranda turned to look at Sam as well at the question,

Sam met her gaze and smiled lightly. “I don’t mind.”

For Miranda’s sake, he could send over as many people as she needed.

“Thank you, Mr. Cooper.”

“Just call me Sam.”

Miranda rolled her eyes as she thought, “Here we go again.”

Jack laughed and said, “Thanks, Sam

Sam was flabbergasted.

After they had almost finished the meal, Jack prepared to pay the bill. However, Sam got up and beat him to the counter. “Mrs. Lowe, can you tally up the bill?”

“Done with your dinner, Mr. Cooper? How was the breaded tenderloin today?” Nancy asked.

Sam turned to Miranda. “Why don’t you ask her?”

Nancy looked over at her with a smile, and Miranda answered honestly, “It was delicious.”

“I’m glad you like it! This dish has been a big hit lately. It’s even more popular than our previous signature dishes. Our business has been booming as well. Speaking of which, we owe it to Mr. Cooper for his valuable suggestion.”

Sam scanned the code to pay and put his phone away. Don’t thank me, thank her.”

Nancy beamed wider, her gaze drifting meaningfully between Miranda and Sam. “Of course, exactly! Thank you so much to all of you!”

As they stepped out, a cold gust of wind picked up and blew toward them. Miranda quickly pulled her winter jacket zipper all the way up, but she couldn’t help shivering.

The next second, Sam took off his scarf and wrapped it around her neck. Stunned, Miranda tried to take it off when she returned to her senses. ‘There’s no need; my jacket is zipped up high enough to block the

wind…”

However, Sam insisted, “Just wear it.”

Miranda didn’t know what to say to that.

Madison and Sebastian had just left the lab. They were chatting as they walked out of the main gates of Dunham College.

“How about we get some barbecue?” Madison suggested. “I know a place with amazing beef skewers and hot dogs! Actually, pasta sounds good too. Have you tried pesto pasta? It’s a favorite for us Gulsbergians!

“Or maybe lamb stew? Pancakes? Pork chop..”

The more Madison thought about it, the hungrier she got. She couldn’t help but rub her stomach. It felt pretty flat and empty.

Sebastian didn’t reply. Was having supper a non–negotiable?

Madison pressed him for an answer. “Have you decided yet? What should we eat?”

Sebastian still remained silent.

“Seb, don’t tell me you’re not hungry?”

Sebastian replied solemnly, “Eat, we must.”

“Yes!” Madison cheered.

Just as they were about to head to a spot for street food, they ran into Paul.

“Dr. Jefferson!” Madison greeted joyfully.

Paul nodded slightly at them. “Good evening. Did you just get out of the lab?”

“Yeah!”

“Where’s Miranda? Isn’t she with you?”

“Miranda had to meet up with Mr. Cooper and Jack, so she left first.”

Paul glanced at the bag Madison was holding. Something that looked familiar to him was poking out.”

What’s that?”

“oh,

Oh, it is Miranda’s scarf. She forgot it when she left, so I planned to bring it over to her later.”

“Where to?” he asked.

Madison told him the name of the restaurant

“It’s on my way. I can take it to her,” Paul suggested.

“Is that so? That would be perfect!” Madison exclaimed.
